If you have a well or are concerned about the possibility of lead in your water, you should have your water tested. The US EPA and Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) recommend that private drinking water supplies be tested regularly, In fact, the DPH suggest that you have your well tested annually "to be certain of the general quality of your well water."
Home Inspection is supposed to give you peace of mind, but often has the opposite effect. You will be asked to absorb a lot of information in a short time. This often includes a written report, checklist, environmental reports, and what the inspector himself says during the inspection. All this, combined with the Seller's Disclosure and what you notice yourself, makes the experience even more overwhelming.

If you are looking for a thorough home inspection by someone who has your best interests at heart, look no further than Mike at HPI Inspection Services. Mike takes his time and points out everything, from safety issues to things that will save you money. My dad, an electrical engineer, was present for the inspection and even he was impressed by his knowledge and attention to detail. Using the info he gave me I was able to negotiate a considerable amount off the selling price to make the necessary repairs. Mike was so incredibly organized, knowledgeable, and thorough! He noticed the tiniest of details in every inch of the house and wasn’t afraid to crawl through terrible crawl spaces and attics!! Mike is one of the best home inspectors I have ever met. Not only did he thoroughly go thew the entire home, he educated me on everything. I highly recommend Mike to any first time home buyer, or seasoned veterans. I am very mechanically inclined and Mike still showed me many vulnerable spots to look at in the home. All in all, Mike is an awesome guy and extremely professional.

My wife found Mike online and after a long phone conversation she knew he was the one to complete our first home inspection. He was very accommodating, and was able to complete the inspection within a three day notice, since we needed the inspection done before I left the state for work. Mike was very thorough! Making sure we knew everything there was to know about the house. He was even available to speak to my wife separately to discuss any questions she may have had since she was unable to attend the inspection. Not really the review type but if you're Having a tough time finding a home inspector... Look no further. I had a very tight time line and the day we scheduled actually got cancelled and we had to reschedule to the next day. Mike was extremely adaptable to the situation, and by far exceeded my expectations of a home inspector. Mike is an inspection with an education. I was most pleased with his inspection of the home we were considering. Mike is personable and professional. The inspection was extremely thorough and informative. He answered all of our questions and provided lots of tips and tricks on how to properly maintain the home.
