Dr. Paul J. Alton has been an Optometrist since graduating The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1988. His clinical experience began at the Metro Health Ophthalmology Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He is licensed by the State of Ohio to diagnose and treat most eye disorders, including eye infections, contact lens related problems, dry eyes and glaucoma.

I was born and raised in Oberlin Ohio, and moved back a few years ago after being in Boston Mass for 25 years. During my experience of living in Oberlin, both when I was young and now as a middle aged adult, is that people in the stores and businesses are friendly, nothing over the top, but cordial and nice. But sadly the other day I was not siked on my experience with the receptionist. We have been very well pleased with Dr. Alton’s professional care for over 25 years. My sister was thinking about retirement because of her poor eyesight due to glaucoma. Dr. Alton’s examination and correct prescription gave her good vision, enough to continue in her profession. The Ottica Eyecare staff’s, knowledge and professional care are second to none. I receive compliments upon the style of my glasses from strangers as well as friends.

I went to Dr Alton because several of my friends went there. I finally found an Optometrist that fit me with the right contacts. I have struggled for years finding the right contacts for me. Dr Alton was very patient and let me try several different lenses. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for a thorough exam and a friendly doctor. His staff is also very friendly and very knowledgeable! I also purchased glasses that are so unique and affordable! I get compliments every time I wear them!

I came in for an update to my glasses subscription. When I got my glasses prescription it didn't include a PD (pupillary distance). I asked for it on a later visit and they refused to provide it unless I purchased glasses from them. That's not something I was going to do because their frame selection is underwhelming and expensive, and because they offered no information about lens options and I don't trust them to not immediately upsell me to a material and index I don't need.
