West Side Preventative EyeCare
I opened West Side Preventative EyeCare in Rocky River with a vision to provide patient focused eye exams that focused on the whole health of the individual. Preventative EyeCare goes beyond vision exams. We take the time to solve problems others won't. Our family eye care services include eye exams for kids and adults, orthokeratology, vision correction and management of age-related eye disease.

Located conveniently to serve Rocky River residents, we offer hours to suit every family's schedule and we are ADA compliant. West Side Preventative EyeCare is an unparalleled combination of professional eye care, state of the art facility, and warm-welcoming staff. Dr. Hooper delivers the highest level of care in a comfortable setting.
Services
West Side Preventative EyeCare is a single doctor independent practice coming to Rocky River's Beachcliff Market Square in October of 2018! Our eye doctor and eye care staff are here to care for all of your vision needs. We handle everything from adult and children's eye exams and hard-to-fit contact lenses, eye emergencies, treatment of eye diseases and co-management of eye surgery such as LASIK.
Our eye care center offers a full range of eye health services to clients of all ages, from children to older adults: routine eye exams and vision tests, eye disease diagnosis and management, immediate attention for eye emergencies, and complete eye health management. The optometrists in our practice provide eyewear prescriptions and offer corrective laser eye surgery co-management as well.
Orthokeratology, commonly called ortho-k, is a method used to correct myopia (nearsightedness) or astigmatism by wearing rigid gas permeable contact lenses overnight, so that no corrective lenses are needed during daytime hours. Gas permeable (GP) lenses specialized for ortho-k are inserted at bedtime and worn as you sleep.
Regular comprehensive eye exams for your child at all stages of their development is extremely important to ensure a child's vision will develop as it should and to diagnose any eye conditions that may be affecting your child.

There are many eye conditions, such as strabismus and amblyopia that can be corrected easily if caught early but can do irreversible damage that will affect a child into adulthood if left undiagnosed and untreated for too long. However, one of the leading causes of ocular disease in adults that continues to progress is myopia or nearsightedness.
Routine eye exams are important, regardless of your age or physical health. During a complete eye exam, your eye doctor will not only determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses, but will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.
