Dr. Jennifer Thatcher attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she studied Computer Engineering.
She worked as a systems and software engineer for several years, but eventually followed a calling into the healthcare field. She pursued a Doctorate of Optometry at the University of California Berkeley School of Optometry (UCBSO). I had an eye infection manifest later in the day last week. I called multiple specialist offices, some quite large and left messages.

I love going to see Dr. Thatcher and her staff. Everyone is so friendly, helpful, and efficient! While I had my exam, they kindly repaired my sunglasses for me. They helped me pick out the most lightweight frames so that I don't get headaches when wearing my glasses. I look forward to my visit each year!

I brought my 6 year old great-niece in to try to find a pair of glasses to fit her petite face. Angela was very patient and understanding while working with my niece, and helped find the perfect fit. She was also a great help to me in choosing new frames. The office staff was friendly and informative. I will recommend them to others looking for kind, professional care.

BFEC is impressive on all counts! Their attention to cleanliness, especially covid-19 precautions, their level of organization (online patient information forms), their friendliness (receptionist is welcoming and very professional), the optometrist, Dr. Thatcher is skilled, thorough, and ready to answer all questions and share information about her procedures. The optician is very helpful, honest in her feedback of your choices, and exacting in her measurements. They have my highest recommendation.

I went to Beachwood Family Eye Care as a follow up to an emergency room visit, and was incredibly impressed! Dr. Jennifer Thatcher is kind, efficient, and clearly communicates the issues and the steps that she takes to remediate the issues. It was the best eye doctors experience that I’ve ever had, and I’ve lived around the country and globe and have had to visit many eye doctors over the years.
Though I don’t actually live in Ohio, I may try to schedule my eye doctors visits with Dr. Thatcher to coincide with my regular trips to the state, rather then continuing to look for an eye doctor

Dr Thatcher was such a good listener, and I really appreciated that, given my unique vision challenges. She didn't rush me, and instead gave me extra time and attention, even going so far as to contact her Neurolenses rep while I was there in person to ensure clear communication. It made me feel confident about her desire to provide the best treatment, especially her consideration shown toward us having made a trip from out of state. Thank you, Dr. Thatcher for that individualized attention and care!

So disappointed with this eye care practice. I had a first time eye exam with Dr. Thatcher. I liked her professional manner and that she answered all my questions. I decided to come back with a friend to order my main pair of spectacles. I called this morning to make the appointment to choose new primary glasses and asked for my PD ( pupillary distance) at the same time. They balked. The answer was no, yes and no, it depends and sometimes as a courtesy. Clearly, they don’t want me buying any glasses online, only theirs. So now, I’ll buy my glasses elsewhere and take my eye health care elsewhere

This is the best place in Cleveland to get your eyes examined and an awesome new pair of glasses (their selection is outstanding). We went after getting some conflicting advise elsewhere to the Family Eye Care Center on South Green Road and Doctor Thatcher most carefully examined my mom's eyes, explained her condition carefully and then talked us through the options without any of the hustle and pressure we experienced in other eye centers. Here we could make a well-informed decision and feel that we are in competent and caring hands. Great job. Thank you!

The best optometrist in the city! I am absolutely blown away by their kindness and professionalism. Both Dr. Thatcher and Angela were incredibly wonderful in taking care of my acute concern today, and they made me feel welcome and comfortable. I'm so grateful for their help. If you have any eye concerns, simply want a checkup and prescription update, or want some fashionable new glasses, this is the place to go!
