Salt Craft features Chef Matt Greco's personal approach to everyday home cooking and baking. Due to the challenges brought on by the pandemic, we evolved from a full service farm to table restaurant to a bread bakery and catering kitchen. Our bakery offers sweet and savory items with a focus on breads and our catering specializes in individually boxed breakfasts and lunches.
We deliver fresh bread to multiple locations around Pleasanton, Livermore, and Berkeley. You can also join us on our patio for our bakery stand on Saturdays which offers a variety of our baked items that change weekly and seasonally. I grew up in the great state of Texas, where as a kid I learned to build smokers and smoke meat from my dad.

The Bread... Delicious!
I did not experience dining in here but we had food catered for our business meeting. The sandwiches were packaged in its individual paper bag for easy distribution. Each of the bag had the type of sandwich it contained written outside for individual preference.
We had a choice of Reuben, Turkey & Swiss, or Curry Chicken & Goat Cheese sandwich. It came with a huge chocolate Chip cookie and a bag of kettle chips. The food was high quality with fresh ingredients. Every bite was a delight. I had the Turkey & Swiss. It was a good size too! Huge amounts of turkey

The positive reviews belie the relative lack of quality food in this part of the Bay Area. I needed a baguette and was in a bind, as none of the local grocery stores have good bread. Salt Craft charges $8 for a so-so, Lufthansa-quality baguette. Meanwhile, Fournée, a Berkeley bakery, arguably the best in the Bay Area, and a 20 minute drive from Pleasanton, charges $3.25 for an exceptional baguette. Salt Craft's price was offensive and the only delight I experienced eating their stretchy, weird interpretation of sourdough was that it reminded me of pre-Covid international travel. Bon appetit

What can I say.... Take my money!!!! This review is for the Saturday stand. Their pies, muffins, cookies... everything. It's allll sooooo good. I love to go whenever I have the chance!
The pies are so delicious here because they're not overwhelmingly sweet. They use fresh fruit, not canned. I would highly recommend getting their mini pies so you can try each flavor! You can also pre-order for midweek pick up, which I've been doing since Saturdays have been difficult for me.

I can't speak to how this restaurant was prior to Covid, but I can definitely speak to how it is now. According to information on their website and Instagram, they had to create an innovative solution to surviving through Covid. I believe that one of those innovative solutions was their Saturday Front Patio Bakery Stand!
They have a vast assortment of pies, cobblers, cookies (fresh and dough to bake at home), breads, seasonal items, and pastries. They open up at 9:00am and go until 1:00pm, and my suggestion is to get there EARLY because after being open for less than 13 minutes a LINE starts

A love letter to their hot and ready meals.
Dear Lasagna-
So warm, so comforting. Always ready for me when I am for you.
Lasagna is approximately three servings for my husband and I so if you have a family I would recommend two orders.
I also love their salad and the garlic bread is gone in a minute.
Also recommend the short ribs or whatever beef dish they have on Fridays. Pick up at 5:30 daily on the patio.

Ordered the Chicken Pot Pie dinner tonight and it's packed perfectly. Feeds about 8. Has mixed greens salad, an entire loaf of fresh baked bread and enough chicken pot pie for a small army. You order by phone or online and pick up super easy at the entrance. Just call when you're there and let them know the name on your order. Obviously it's bake at home, the same way you would Papa Murphy's pizza. The instructions are right on the lid. Easy peasy. Thank you so much! 💯😘✌

I have yet to sit down and enjoy a meal here, however, I've done plenty of take out and know for a fact that this place is excellent!
Take for instance their Family Meals to Go. I brought one home recently, and my spouse asked "Where's it from?" She then mentioned another local establishment and I said: "No, Salt Craft!" She replied: Even better"
She right, you know? The first time I brought anything home was for lunch. Salt Craft really puts the "craft" in the food they make. What we had that day were sandwiches, and every aspect of it was curated

Attended a private party and everything was delicious! Burrata with homemade bread, a pasta ravioli dish, pork as a main course and a few other small bites.. each more delicious than the last. We ended the night with triple chocolate cookies (I asked if they sell the dough, and they said no.. but if they did I would buy some!)
It was a great evening and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a socially distanced party. We had 4 people per table with 5 tables.
They also offer their food and bread to go, and their bread is sold at a few locations downtown.

Casual upscale outdoor restaurant with heaters to stay warm.
Great free bread!
Fried chicken deal this Valentines night and it was delicious and plentiful since it was an all you can eat deal. Maple syrup and cinnamon make for an innovative fried chicken that's memorable.
The $3 each oysters were nice but expensive.

I've been here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner, and left both times feeling the same way. The food is decent, but way overpriced for what you get.
My pasta dish felt kind of plain, and a bit under seasoned. Not bad, just not worth $20... The corn and cheese appetizer seemed as if I could've made it in my microwave.
None of the food was bad, just overpriced.

Dinner was delicious and wholesome! Rosemary bread was heavenly!!!
Slow cooked pork pasta were also very amazing. Was stuffed to the brim but ordered the panna cotta.. very light and not overly sweet. Service crew was very attentive and offered great recommendations. Will highly recommend if you are in the area.
Very Reasonably price for its quality.

This place is a cute out door brunch spot to just enjoy your meal while being outside. We were so lucky to sit right under the trees with the shades. It provides a good cooler feel then under the umbrellas. However, this place provides umbrellas to keep you shaded on a warmer/hotter day...
Service was great but the food was ok. I like the cinnamon roll, it came out very nice and warm and the smoked salmon sandwich was pretty good too. However, the sunny side up egg with bacon and potatoes wasn't well season. The bacon was too salty and the potatoes and eggs needed some seasoning...

This review is a little overdue. My boyfriend and i have been here a few times since they opened. It isn't my first choice because I think it's really mediocre. I have to say, the presentation is great- they do put a lot of effort into how the dishes look when they arrive at the table. However, the flavors don't match up. There's nothing more disappointing than having a picture perfect meal that just doesn't measure up in taste.
Our most recent visit was a few weeks ago. I had my doubts on dining here again but my boyfriend told me that he's heard it's gotten

I took my mom here for breakfast on a Friday morning and I think we were the first customers for the day.
We were in the Pleasanton area because the Gem Faire was in town this weekend and this little restaurant was just a minutes away from the Faire Grounds.
They serve toasts, scrambles and other small brunch plates, bread. A small , simple menu.
My mom ordered a maple bacon scramble with toast. I ordered the burratta and honey and vinegar toast. We both ordered some coffee.
It was thumbs up. Everything was perfect. The food was good, reasonable prices, beautiful presentation , and the ambiance

Came here for brunch with my boyfriend... we split a pasta dish, and the french toast- everything was delectable, right down the the coffee! The patio concept is great, it was a chilly morning, but the heaters were on, and we didn't mind. Certainly tasty! The bread pudding french toast is certainly different in so many ways, it's somehow denser than normal french toast, but still moist, and easy to cut with a fork... the compote on top made for a nice touch. Would certainly recommend for a lazy brunch out and about.

It was a chilly morning at the all-outdoor cafe seating, but I'm glad we braved it. Standards were at their best, and I enjoyed several new ones that showed off distinctive ingredients. The Verve coffee was truly, truly outstanding. If I could change one thing it would be to make sure the plates are hot coming out, as their contents cool off very quickly in the outdoor air. I'm confident they will continue to impress and improve.

Enjoyed breakfast take out for the office! We had the scone, morning bun, and coffee cake, as well as breakfast sandwiches and french toast. Fresh, hot, delicious- everything was labeled. Fantastic service at pick-up too! The breakfast sandwiches were the perfect size and not too heavy. The full breakfast with french toast and sausage was a big portion size! Highly recommend.

Fairly new establishment. Originally a residential house then Spa, now a restaurant with outdoor seating only. I liked the local winery wines. Burrata was very good, and my favorite dish was the lamb pastrami.
Also tried the skirt steak, chicken pasta and beats pasta, all very good. The ribs were on the dry side. Definitely try the shishito peppers.
Not big choice if deserts.
Overall ambience and service were excellent

Came here for brunch on a quiet Sunday morning around noon time and was greeted and quickly seated without reservations. We were seated in an outdoor patio area that was enclosed with transparent plastic walls which kept out the cold air and provided some separation between the sidewalk nearby. Seating was plentiful and the server were extremely friendly and quick. I got the lamb pastrami sandwich and was extremely impressed. It's loaded with delicious thinly sliced cured lamb and quite unique. My friend ordered the maple bacon and sunny side eggs which were perfectly cooked and equal delicious
