We are located at 417 Uluniu Street in the green one-story Uluniu Square Building attached to the Medical Arts Building, across from Makai Animal Clinic, and near Walgreen's. Our entrance is outside on the BACK of the building next to Elizabeth Jackson Attorney at Law. Look for the colorful Island Girl Eyecare sticker on the door!

Insurances accepted are: Tricare Prime, Tricare Select, Tricare Prime Retired (every 2 years), HMSA (except Akamai), HMSA Quest (every 2 years), and UHA.

A couple years back I was a nightmare client and really indecisive about frames and lenses. Liz recommended these cool black frames, due to their life time warranty, and jumped through hoops to get the lenses that suited me.
Good call! Recently the frame developed a stress crack near the left side hinge, where I grab to take off, and put on, my glasses. I emailed Liz about the warranty. She told me she would take care of it. I took my glasses to the shop and she swapped the frames out for new ones in the store. A few minutes later I walked out with essentially a new pair!

Post COVID I REALLY needed an eye exam, contacts, and glasses and found my way to Island Girl Eyecare. I'd been suffering from eye allergies and having some minor issues as well. The whole experience was a
fantastic- everything from making your appointment to doing your new patient paperwork and submitting insurance cards can be done online right from your phone. When I arrived I was treated just like family. Thanks so much Island Girl- this girl can SEE now.

Dr. McLemore is AMAZING! She is kind, professional & very knowledgeable. We are a military family that doesn't have the luxury of keeping the same physicians all our lives so when we find someone as wonderful as Dr. McLemore we feel so lucky. Dr. Liz is the best! She's quick to respond to emails. Scheduling is easy. She's very thorough with her exams and making sure you get the right prescription to meet your needs. She's knowledgeable on what your insurance will cover which is nice since I'm not. Lol. She offers several brands with lots of options. My eyes thank her.

Dr. Liz goes above and beyond any Optometrist I have seen. I am completely impressed with her professionalism, determination, personality and kindness. My vision is not easy due to multiple refraction surgeries but she goes out of her way to try to perfect my vision. She takes her time and you will never feel rushed. Her equipment is state of the art and her office is clean and comfy. She also has a wonderful friendly dog in the waiting area. Highly recommend Dr. Liz.

Two years later and I am still thrilled with the care I receive at Island Girl Eyecare. My preschooler's glasses broke and we got replacement frames the very next day -- she stayed late for me to come in after work. Dr. Liz goes above and beyond for her patients.
Island Girl Eyecare is a great place for mothers of young children. My toddler was entertained by Lilikoi the dog and a huge dollhouse during my exam. I got great one-on-one attention, up-to-date contact lens recommendations, and multiple samples to try. I would recommend Island Girl Eyecare for your next eye exam.

Liz is fantastic! Very responsive and easy scheduling. She is a very professional yet down to earth provider. As she is a one person office with appointment only visits, she still worked in a tourist walk-in that showed up while I was in for my appt so he could avoid a visit to urgent care. Highly recommend to anyone!

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Elizabeth McLemore. She was able to see me pretty quickly. She answered and addressed all my concerns. The best part of all is that she answered all my emails in a timely manner. I loved that! I was also able to take my young one with me. Her office is kid friendly and charming. Not your typical Doctor's office but that's what makes it awesome. Her technology is pretty advanced too and she takes her time explaining what it does. I highly recommend her. I had my eye appointment at Island Girl with Dr. McLemore and it was an amazing experience from the start. Had a very quick response from her email scheduling my appointment that same week, to having the best direction and parking instructions on her website and had the best patient care while in her office! Checking in was a breeze with her and the eye exam was very thorough, she explained everything very clearly & I loved that she sent me home with different contacts to try before committing to certain ones. Liz was so amazing I'm actually so glad I found her just by chance I haven't had a proper eye exam in years and she not only took time to check things out didnt rush and was so thorough also funny and so sweet! I had an appt on 10/03/18 She saw me as soon as she could being she runs the desk and she does all the eye exams. She gave my eyes the best care. She really sought out what would be the best option for me and my eyes.
I ended buying my next pair of glasses from her and they are called Fetch which 100% of the proceeds go to animal rescue and adoption. I'm a HUGE animal lover not to mention she has the cutest most playful dog upfront when you first walk in.

I came in once for an eye exam and once later to pick up glasses I did not get on my first visit. I really appreciated how personal and personable she was. She works solo and the small practice is bright and cheery. Parking is limited to street parking, but so are most places in that area. She has limited hours but if you just email, she is very accommodating. She also takes insurance, and offers a wide variety of glasses and great package deals. I recommended her to my partner and we both are extremely happy to have found her!

I love this doc I do. And I care about how she cares about her patients. She has been great with my eye care and my girls as well.
She no longer accepts phone calls at her office, everything must be done through e-mail communication. Sometimes phones r necessary - the doc realizes and is working slowly towards getting a new front receptionist long term. Currently she is flying and managing everything solo. She is extremely fast on the responses, so that is awesome!
She has a dog in the office, awesome! And he definitely thinks he ought to be in your lap - just doesn't realize how big he

She was very persistent and intentional about getting my prescription exactly right, even if that meant taking more time and even re-starting the process. Back in 2017 I contacted Dr. Liz by email for an eye exam. Initially I was skeptical having to email instead of calling. But I was impressed by her quick response & desire to work with her & my availability. Here now in 2018 Dr. Liz is as nice, caring & professional as day one. I sent an email to schedule an appt with Dr. McLemore for a regular eye exam. She quickly responded with her availabilities that fit my schedule. When I met her she was very kind a personable and I could tell she really cares about her patients. She has her sweet dog in her office with her and I love that. I came to my appt with my dog because I had a sort of emergency appt at the vet with my dog right after my eye appt. Liz is so great. I came to visit Oahu and forgot my contacts at home. I sent Liz an email and she found contacts that would work for me. When I got to the store, there was an adorable dog to greet me. Then, Liz had the contacts all ready and gave them to me for FREE because I had forgotten mine. What a gem.

Had the great pleasure of having my first optometry appointment (since moving in the area) with Dr. McLemore. The only bad thing about the whole experience was just finding the place itself. Struggled a bit since I'm new to the area but the actual appointment itself made the parking experience irrelevant(the office is literally right next to the parking garage, come extra early just in case so you can find your way there.) I checked in with the 'receptionist' who was really bubbly and down to earth to talk to.
