Shelley Andersen moved to San Diego from Peoria Illinois when she was 21 years old, and has never looked back! The warm, sunny weather and beautiful beaches were all it took for this midwestern girl to trade her rain boots for flip flops. Shelley joined the Dermatology & Laser of Del Mar family in 2018 and has worn a couple different hats within our practice, first as a medical assistant and now as a key member in our esthetics department.

Dr Atkin is a wonderful dermatologist. She and her office staff make you feel like you are the most important patient they have. They offer a variety of services from facials to lasers to basic dermatology. Every visit for me has been a great experience and I have been a patient for a very long time.

So Everyone here is absolutely wonderful and it is now my new go to place for all of my skin needs and glass skin aesthetic goals. Vanessa was clearly passionate about her career and very knowledgeable about my skin. Her calm demeanor and soothing voice was a plus during my visit. She simply embodied the word “pleasant”. I always leave with a new product as well. Noni, who checked me out, continued to wow me with the excellent customer service by being kind, cheerful, personable, and excited. Not to mention, everyone here has perfect skin, and lashes and that is a plus when these are your goals

This is the first time I give a bad review, but I feel like I have to after being scammed by this place. I got Thermage in my belly and legs, spending $7000 and had no results at all. They tried to convince me that there were some results arguing with pictures when I was showing them my skin with no changes. They did not give me my money back and I felt like I have been robbed. They for sure lost a client and I hope they never offer this treatment again to anyone! It was a bad experience, more than anything seeing how, because they would not give me my money back, they were treating me like I was

I have been a patient of Dr. Atkins for at least 8 years. I have always appreciated her professionalism. Last time I was in I was seen by a Physician Assistant, as I had done a couple other times, although not the same PA. I found this last experience upsetting. The PA was snippy, for lack of a better word, she told me she had to biopsy a spot on my leg, next thing I know she had a razor cutting off skin, hurt like hell, when I said something she dismissed it and said we were almost finished. I will only see Dr. Atkins from this point forward, not a PA.

Dr. Atkin and her staff are incredible! From the moment I walk in and greeted with a big smile from Noni and the front desk staff, to the staff that takes care of all I need prior to my treatment, to Dr. Atkins professional and gentle way, I know I am in the best hands! They made sure I was very comfortable prior to my treatment and kept me relaxed throughout. They are all extremely competent and go above and beyond! And, of equal importance, the results are FANTASTIC!

I went to see Dr. Atkin for a body contouring consultation. There are so many nonsurgical fat reducing technologies, I didn't know what to ask for at first - but that was ok!
Dr. Atkin listened to what I thought my problem areas were and went from there. She is so kind, I was very comfortable talking to her. Not only did she come up with a comprehensive treatment plan, she explained how each technology worked and why she thought that was the best solution for each area.
These nonsurgical treatments often work best with more than one session, so I am looking forward to my follow up appointments
