April DeMaggio is a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant with extensive experience in both aesthetic and general medicine. April graduated from Stanford School of Medicine Primary Care Associate program in 2002 and has worked since honing her skills in a direct patient care setting. In 2007, April began her training in aesthetic medicine and since has developed extensive knowledge in advanced practice injection and laser techniques.

I moved to San Diego in October and was recommended Art of Skin by a friend and now I regularly see April the PA for Dr. Melanie Palm for both cosmetic and dermatology needs. I struggle with adult acne, melasma and hyperpigmentation and April has been a gem in helping my skin transformation. She is always makes me feel comfortable and she takes the time to explain my skin care plan. I now have a full skin care regiment that works for me and has produced results. Dr. Palm was able to considerably reduce my melasma. I am African American and I was concerned about scarring. She took a conservative approach and said that she realizes that my skin and Caucasian skin cannot always receive the same treatments. My skin has improved near 100%. There is no cure for melasma but it can be managed. She does not make unrealistic promises. Visit her for any dermatological problems—you will not regret it.

My experience here is unacceptable at all costs and should not be ignored if you are reading unless you enjoy being HARASSED, held in volition, and want to walk out with an anxiety attack, be my guest.

As a fellow dermatologist, it’s hard to impress me. But Dr Melanie Palm is top notch! Her esthetic and injection techniques are nationally recognized. She is so skilled, so lovely, and absolutely the best cosmetic dermatologist. Grateful to call her my colleague and friend. It takes a lot to wake me up at 5:45am on vacation, but I did, to sneak in a before clinic hours appointment. Dr Palm and her staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I hadn't been to a dermatologist in many years and they took time to make recommendations and answer all my questions. The office is beautiful and so much more inviting and comfortable than a typical doctor's office. I would definitely recommend Art of Skin to friends!

The office is beautiful and the people are very lovely and informative. I was recommended by a previous dermatologist who is retiring, and even though there were other doctors in her practice, she told me to see Dr. Palm, which is a great compliment.
Dr. Palm did a procedure for me which I am very happy about. She explained everything beforehand and talked to me during the entire process. She will be my dermatologist from now on.
