In 1957, Carl Gillette started the Gillette Motel. It began as a simple six rooms alongside his family home. Raising the family with two businesses - Gillette Motel and Gillette Plumbing and Heating/Air Conditioning - kept all involved very busy. As Gatlinburg continued to grow up around them, Gillette also continued adding to the Motel, until the last addition in 1974 brought it to where it is today.

My family and I had reservations with the Gillette motel for New Year's Eve. But unfortunately our family was diagnosed with covid-19 two days before our trip. We called to explain the situation but because it was Christmas they were "closed". We reached out through email and were told that because we didn't cancel one day earlier we wouldn't receive a refund. Yet they refunded my sister's room. We explained we were just postponing the trip because we were COVID positive and would be glad to take a credit for a future stay but they refuse to offer that or make any exceptions

This was our second time coming to Gatlinburg. We decided to find a different hotel to book our room. We are so happy we picked Gillette Hotel.. The room was nice, clean and had a nice clean fragrance. Everything was in walking distance.. The Desk clerks on friday night and Sunday morning was a very kind and professional. Everything was perfect. We will be coming back next year and can't wait to have the same wonderful experience.

I haven't checked out yet but I am super duper happy I chose to stay here. It's litterslly a two minute walk from the main street and has free parking. The room is great and very clean. The shower gets hot and has a removable shower head. The only thing I can warn you about is the ceiling in the shower is pretty low so if you're taller than 6'4 call the motel first and see if there are rooms with a higher shower ceiling. Enjoy your stay and Gatlinburg - we thought everything was fantastic. I can't swear to it but I think every room has a balcony.

I was able to meet the owners whom are absolutely the kindest people you will ever meet. The staff is phenomenal. Linda and Bill are amazing and a joy to talk with.
The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The cleanest that I have found in the Gatlinburg area. Very conveniently located to the parkway on historic nature trail right across from the conference center.

2nd visit. Just as good as the first. This time we had the big suite with a kitchen. Worked out great. Staff was amazing again. I will stay here every time I'm in gatlinburg.
Only complaint, the private balcony, was not private. It blocks the room to the sides window and is accessible from outside the room. Not so private.

I stayed here 17 & plus years ago for a convention that I quit attending. I returned this year. Same considerate excellent attention. NICE people. I am not religious but found a Bible opened when I walked in. Better to see a Bible than rude clerks or bugs. This place is CLEAN. It is convenient to the Convention Ctr. I had a problem with my exhibit in the convention ctr. Maintenance staff solved my problem! & wouldn't accept a tip. He told me he's worked there 25 years (forget his exact words) & his wife about 5 years longer. Think about this: they stay because they are treated

This is a great place to stay in Gatlinburg! We stayed in a king jacuzzi suite with a private balcony! The room was extremely clean, and the bed was comfortable. The balcony facing the road was great for people watching! The outdoor pool was also clean. The front room was a little noisy at times due to facing the road, and the fire department was right behind the motel, but the noise wasn't unexpected, you are in a major tourist town! There was no breakfast, but with the money you save you can eat at the neat little store next door, and have extra for lunch! If you are looking for an affordable

Quaint motel located right across from the street from the convention center. Friendly and accommodating staff and an easy walk to local attractions. Rooms are basic with microwave, mini fridge and coffee pot located in washroom. Decor is simplistic and clean and I loved the outdoor chairs on the walkway to take in the evening breeze.
A few things to note: there are very limited dining options in the direct vicinity. Options were, a BBQ place next door but it was closed due to a fire and a Subway. Motel had soda vending machines only, no snack options available so plan accordingly. The local

Booked a room 2 mo. in advance w/ Clella she was very nice and accommodating - plans changed and called back same day to cancel
room - was told by Clella if canceled 3 days before arrival a full refund would go back on my cc. When called to cancel - a rude/unprofessional man named Don said there is a 5.00 service to cancel Clella never mentioned this to me - when I told Don he was argumentative -I canceled the res. have disputed charge with my cc - if this is my first encounter with visiting Gatlinberg TN don't know if I want to visit this place!!

I truly love this motel when I stayed for my birthday weekend 09/30/17-10/01/17. The social media person that I was in communication with was very communicative and answered all my inquiries right away. The front desk lady was also very friendly.
The only reason why it lost a point was due to the person that was on the phone with me when I tried to reserve on the phone. He was very unprofessional and rude that I didn't feel secured in giving out my CC information to reserve a room. I went back to the person I had communicated via FB Msgr (I think his name was Beau...I forgot) and ended

Had stayed here before and not had any issues. This time was awful. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold. No in between. The satellite/cable kept going out and saying signal loss or interruption in service. The final straw was the day we were leaving. We left to go to breakfast around 9am and came back about 1020 and the maid had already cleaned the room from the next guest. I asked her what she was doing and she stated she thought we had lalready checked out since we left. So all the stuff that we left in the room to get when we came back from breakfast was thrown

We stumbled across this motel . the front desk receptionist man was so sweet and polite. We were able to get a king bed room for under $80 and the room was great.
The room had a nice comfy chair , fridge, microwave and carpeted !
It was the best motel we stayed at in our week long trip . also we were able to be right next door to our friends with a connecting door .
Also a plus is walking distance to the strip of restaurants and shopping.
