This place is da bomb. I love what all they have to offer. Their pastries are delicious and they usually have a great variety on hand. But you have got to go early in the day to get that benefit of doubt. The later you go in the day slim pickings is what you'll find. Karina's has their bakery kitchen in-house which is visible to the customers when you enter the shop. They make a wonderful variety of cakes and cookies too. My family and I usually get assorted Mexican pastries (sweet breads, some kind of savory turnovers, etc.) and assorted cookies from them. They also offer parfaits

It’s not the first time I go and their shelves are empty. Why have a business open til 7 with empty shelves. Plus their customer service is horrible! They really have no sense of politeness and attentive to the customers. I hope the owners reads this. Do something about their customer service and stacking their shelves to at least accommodate for customers that work and can’t go in until later in the day.

The place is very neat and pretty. The prices are reasonable, they listen to you’re request and make it exactly as you want. They made this cake for my quinceañero, I hace no complains, I loved the experience. 100 percent recommend this place, they are very professional and go the extra mile with you.

I been to this new location twice, both times front clerks were on the their personal phones when I entered, while I was picking these delicious pastries, and during check out. If it wasn't for pastry specialist who was spreading the colorful eats I would have not been attended to during my visit. Hope their customer service improve and focus on their clientele. These pastries do deserve our attention. Low rating for customer service but 5 stars for the good eats. ;-)

I’m in love with this bakery! I needed cupcakes and a cake for a baby shower I was throwing. Literally all I told the lovely woman who helped me was that I needed 24 cupcakes with pink frosting and a cake that said congratulations. When I picked up my order, I almost fell over. The cupcakes were stunning, and they were covered in the tiniest bit of sparkly glitter. The cake was beautiful and all of the guests at the party raved about both desserts. Karina’s definitely has a customer for life!

They are the best in town hands down. I ordered a birthday cake and it came out so creative and artistic. Everyone were so awww about the cake. Also, I bought some flower bouquet and it was creative too. A puppy was visualized using white carnation flowers and it was so surreal. I would definitely recommend this place. Btw.. the chocolate strawberry layered cake was so yummm.

I have been going to Karinas for sweet Mexican bread for years. I haven't been disappointed at all. There are many bakeries in lake county but none meet the standards of Karinas. The conchas are so soft and have the right sweetness. She makes incredible cakes as well. Each party I have had I've ordered decorative cakes. I send Karina an idea of what I expect and she always meets or exceeds my expectations. Her cakes are always moist and delicious. Hit at every party. I give her 5 stars for continued quality!

We have loved this bakery since we moved in to Mundelein, and moved their place to a bigger place. We were super excited for them. What a great opportunity for our community to see a family owned place succeed. As they continue to grow their quality for their bread has decreased. I am so sad to write this review because I have always been a supporter for this establishment.
Unfortunately it has been a few times where our bread has had hair in the bread and a few times that our bread has had plastic inside the bread.
I am so sad to say I wouldn't buy from them anymore.

We would have loved the cake more if we would have received the baby shower cup cakes that we paid for.. the cake tasted great and all guests loved it but we had to struggle with the fondant bow that we had asked karina to include on the cake.. it was too heavy for the cake and fell off the cake and the cake looked bad without it so we had to put push pins and hold it until we cut the cake. Also, we did not like the bakery cancelling our cup cakes order and not letting us know until we went to pick up the cake 2 hours before the party.. over all we would still be ordering cakes from karina in future

Karina's is an amazing bakery and really is the best place to get a cappuccino or Chai tea in Lake County! They make the best! The owners are friendly and always go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. I can't say enough about Karina's, good food, friendly atmosphere and amazing drinks!

I actually met Karina as she works at the front when you come in...very lovely person as she takes very good of her customers.
Lots of coffee options if you are into it and lots of pastries are available. I had a very nice sized and very tasty cinnamon roll with a cafe latte. There is outside seating as well as a small lounge area near the back to enjoy your treats.
