I was in a pinch to find a rental in the City of Boston and I reached out to Nicholas Pagliarulo at Jacob Realty. His response was immediate and he made time to show me places the next morning. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! This realty office along with the personal is utter garbage. There is little to no communication between the agent Anthony Tse and the applicants, Anthony Tse had on multiple occasions fabricated information on apartments, waited until 1 hour before a last minute dead line to inform anyone of such and then ghosted everyone after. My S.O and I have an emotional support animal and upon learning this, ghosted the entire application we submitted along with full deposit until the location was rented to someone else. My existing Landlord, at the last minute did not renew my lease, so she could convert the apartment to condos. It's mid August and now I am nervous!
I happened to find Amanda Latasz, a broker at Jacobs and I genuinely felt a sense of relief. Her professional nature, but calm low pressure approach really made the difference. I've been in Boston for 30 years and rented at Burroughs Wharf, Harbor Towers and Commercial Wharf, but this time I just needed a nice clean studio near a T.

Jacob Realty, and our specific realtor Jessica, were extremely helpful in both finding and securing our new apartment! Our realtor had an exclusive listing not available to other realtors in the area. Because we were really busy with work at the time, they were extremely flexible in visiting the place with us while also advising us of any… competition in the tough Boston rental market. If there were negative stars,I would give it. From start to disastrous finish, Jason, our broker bungled every part of our transaction. He didn't explain any of the paperwork, didn't fill in his parts, lost our deposits and then miraculously found them when we showed receipts. He constantly needed more info, but only gave us hours to comply. In the end, the apartment was given to someone else! The move was supposed to happen on Monday July 1st, and he told us the Thursday before that that we would get an "email" Friday morning to let us know if we got it. There was no indication

I just signed a new lease after using Charlie Denhart's services at Jacob Realty. It was definitely a 5-star experience! Since the September 1 rush for housing is so insane in Boston, I had been looking for places for about two months before I saw one of Charlie's listings and contacted him. Regardless if you are a tenant looking for a place or a landlord looking for a tenant, stay away from this place. I had a listing on Zillow to rent an apartment. Lizete called me and convinced me to allow her to show it. In my 40 years of renting apartments, I had never used a realtor, and this experience helps me remember why I don't. The realtor was sweaty and unkempt. We met with him 2 times and both times he was unprepared, late, and unprofessional looking. My friends and I agreed with the realtor/broker to meet at 3 near the apartment we were going to look at. By 3, we were already there waiting for him. I received a text from him that he was still on Mass Ave. and Newbury. Basically he just left his office. We waited 15 minutes for him in the cold. First red flag. Very unprofessional.

This made it possible for myself and my incredibly picky roommate to have a place to live for the upcoming school year. Unprofessional and could not answer most of my questions about the buildings or the neighborhoods they showed me. She didn't even know if some of the proprieties had laundry rooms or not. They expect a broker fee for the very low quality apartments they show even though the realtor didn't even show up on time for our appointment. I've had two really excellent experiences with Jacob Realty. My first experience involved a realtor who went above and beyond service. He would drive us to the perspective apartments, have keys in hand (which doesn't always happen) and really worked hard to find us a perfect place. Unfortunately, we ended up finding an apartment through another realty group- which made paying the full realtor fee a bit disheartening, knowing the type of service you can really get.
