Every time I need to bring my car in, whether it is for routine services or emergency repairs, they are so accommodating and helpful. They technical knowledge is on spot and are reasonable with their fees. Highly recommended!

$900 an hour labor scam
I had my catalytic converter stolen and brought in my car for inspection after deciding that I wanted to order my own parts and take my car in later, the owner, realizing that he might not be able to upcharge me said he will install my catalytic converter that I order from amazon for $450(labor). I knew right away that is a complete scam when it only gonna take him 30min of labor to install; he was charging me $900 an hour labor. I ended up buying the part from Amazon and install it myself and took about 1 hour to do it myself and I am not a mechanic.

I brought my VW Golf to I&C for a routine oil change in late July. The price was double what I was quoted on the phone and in the weeks since I've been getting an oil warning light on my dash—they definitely overfilled my oil. Would not recommend this mechanic, even for something as simple as an oil change unfortunately.

We stopped by today because suddenly our air pressure light came on. The shop was just around the corner so we went there to see if we could use their air pump. The gentleman who was working was rude and shouted us away as quickly as he possibly could. I will never get any of our business. Don't bother with this place.

These guys were great i called while I was 4 minutes away and they told me to come in for an oil chsnge. Took them 15 min and I was on my way. I would Go back. Thanks guys I was im a bind and you helped me.

My car broke down right in front of I and C and I'm very blessed that it did!! They took great care of me and fIxed my broken alternator quickly and with more than fair prices. Highly recommended!

I and C has saved my life twice now, so I figured I owe Ishmail a review!
First, I came out on my moving day in May to a flat tire - as in completely flat. Luckily I live close to I and C and was able to slow drive it over. They changed the tire in about 5 hours at a very reasonable price!
The second time was Monday, when I came out to my car to learn that the battery was completely dead. My friends with jumper cables weren't around and I had to get to work right away so I left it. When I called around, most places said I needed a jump before they could help me. I and C saved the day - I left

I've been going here for a long time and Ishmael has done a great job with my car. I&C came to my car during the polar vortex to jump it and has helped with a wide variety of things since, always giving what seem to be fair prices. They've always been professional and upfront about prices with me.

Scummy company, scummy owner. Upcharged my oil change with agreement. Refused to lower my oil change price to the agreed upon price. Will be seeing him in court.

I normally do a lot of my own work to my car and know what I'm doing (for the most part). However, I couldn't find what was causing a weird random noise in my front end and hoped that maybe these guys could. I leave the car a few hours. They find nothing. I'm thinking "ok nbd. It's in my head. I'm good to go on my road trip tmrw". I was sent here by my best friend who has been doing business here for many years. The dealership had quoted me 3 times what Ishmael did for quite a bit of work. He is very honest and knowledgeable. Before I gave my car to him he explained everything that he was going to do, provided a quote and made sure that I could ask questions and get answers. Just want to preface the review by saying NEVER go here. Would loved to have given this place 0 stars if it were possible. Mechanics typically aren't too fun to deal with in the first place, but Isimal takes it to a whole new level. His lazy eye makes it that much more unsettling when he's screaming in your face. I was over charged for his slow service only for my car to break down the next day. Hoping I don't get ripped off as bad this time around.

If I could I would give zero stars. Did not fix my car. Took my money and when I went back to ask if they could actually fix my car the owner and manager yelled at me. It was the most unprofessional thing I have ever been a part of. I am currently now having to go to another shop to see what they even did and to finally get it fixed. Do not go to these people. Ever. I do not know how they have a business at all. Unbelievable.

I came from very far away with my 2003 Buick Regal, 78k miles and the engine started breaking down after we hit something big upon arriving on Chicago. Ismael was very understanding and helpful. He took care of the car straight away, fixed it for a fair price, in a very timely manner, and even gave a few useful tips on how to take care of the car. When I left the shop, the car felt like new. I should have read the reviews before sending my girlfriend there for an oil change. She was quoted $35-$40 and mentioned she had a $29.99 oil change coupon found on their website. The young guy at the desk asked to see it and told her that it would be done in 40 min. She forgot to mention that it needed synthetic oil so called but the desk attendant from earlier said it was too late, they had put non synthetic oil in already. For years I've come here for oil changes, brake jobs, tune ups and everything else that could possibly go wrong with a car. I have never been disappointed with their service, timeliness and most importantly prices.

The shop has been here for over 20 years and for good reason. They offer competitive prices on parts and labor without sacrificing quality. They will do whatever they can for you, whether luxury sports car, family van, or that little beater that your trying to squeeze a few more miles out of.

Now they may not have the best reviews but that's cause they don't need them

I was not very pleased with the treatment at I & C.

I took my car there because there was the closest repair ship to my home. I had an issue with my rear suspension. They fixed it, of course, taking them hours and a lot of money. After they repaired the thing, my steering wheel was crooked. I came back to tell them and they were offended that I thought they had something to do with it.

I took the car later to Jerry's Auto Repair (5 minutes walk south on Sheffield) to repair the same thing on the other side. Not only he did it in less time, but he explained everything to me, charged me

This guy is a complete CROOK !! Avoid unless you have extra money to burn on parts changing and unnecessary repairs!

Pretty simple. They are good guys. Needed new brakes. Had some issues with the breaks squeaking. He took it back and charged me a little more to do work on the rotors which might have needed to be replaced. Had another issue afterwords with breaks grinding. I am giving them give stars because he took the car back, put on top of the line breaks and rotors at no charge. I'll be back.

I took my car here for new brakes, oil change and a few other things. I don't know anything about cars so I verify any estimate with my step father who knows all there is to know about cars. My step father told me the estimate given to me was fair and I it was a decent deal. Immediately after the repairs were completed I took the car to a different mechanic to check the work and I was told everything was done right. Even though I don't know much about cars I can rest assured that I didn't get ripped off and the work was quality.

Yesterday took my car to have battery charged to full, per AAA's instructions after they came to jump it. Went to I AND C Auto Repair. I see Ismial said the tow truck driver didn't know what he was talking about. Said I needed to buy a new battery. I said 'hang on, let me call AAA (bought the battery from them still under warranty). AAA driver to I and C. I told Ismial hold off on ordering the new battery, AAA to replace for free. Ismail said I still owed him $35, I chuckled and said I'll give him $10, he insisted on $35, I laughed again, and then said I'd split the difference

Went in for an oil change and the mechanic put his hand on my hood and diagnosed a misfire. Me and my brother do all the maintenance besides simple oil changes so i was aware a valve adjustment was necessary. After he went on to say i didn't know what i was talking about i asked from my keys back. I passed emissions a month later confirming i did not have a misfire. A 14 year old car with 200,000 miles will idle a little rough. Shady mechanics.

Took my old Mercedes here for some suspension work and a basic tune. Great rates. Nice guy to deal with. Fast and no fuss.

I don't know what the previous reviewer is talking about but, having gotten my car serviced here and having sent myriad friends here, I seriously doubt her assertions.

I took my car here because it wasn't starting and the shop is close to my house. The owner worked on my car for a while and then told me I had a bad battery and needed to get a new one. I was a little skeptical because my current battery was only about 9 months old, but he insisted that whomever I had been to before had sold me a bad battery. I needed a car that would start and didn't know enough about cars to argue with him so I went ahead and got a new battery from him.
