In my short 75 years I have never had reason to need a rehab facility and needless to say I was apprehensive about going to one. After major surgery, Social Services at the UF Health the Villages Hospital advised us of three in Inverness and my wife and I picked Citrus Health, only 2 miles from our home. Very convenient for my wife to replenish my banana addiction. I cannot say enough good things about this facility, I was there from 2/8 to 3/3/2021 which during the Pandemic made things even more difficult for staff and patients alike. But, the added challenge was handled efficiently and professsionally

My dad was sent here from the hospital to help him get stronger. He had Parkinson's and dementia . He was just fine until he went in this place. Nurses didn't even call me back couldn't answer my questions. They don't care at all about there patience they told me one time I need to talk to the CNA they know more about him. Really !!! He needed extra help and wasn't given it . Came home 119lbs from 142 lbs. And dehydrated so I know they weren't taking care of them. Don't let your love ones go here. They don't call you back, they are very rude. My dad passed away 4 days after being home from this

Was a resident there for six weeks after being hospilized with septic arthritis. On being discharged from the hospital,I still requiered IV antibiotics at a skilled facility.
The care was excellent due to a kind and knowledgeable staff.I always felt safe and trusted that everyone knew what they were doing in their respective departments
My stay there was over two,yrs ago,but I am still grateful to all.I just found this site, that is the reason for the delay.

My mother has end stage dementia and she has been in the secure ward there for over 5 years. They have wonderful nurses and staff and take very good care of what can be very difficult patients. They talk with them, tease and joke with them....it's a very difficult ward to nurse in but they are always pleasant to the patients. My sister visits at least 3 times a week and they are always taking good care of my mother no matter when she goes.

I would never send another loved one here. My family member spent 6 days here. We left many messages with his nurse reguarding questions or updates (due to not being able to visit) and noone ever called us back. He spent 5 days at the hospital (August 8th - August 13th) and 6 days here (August 13 - August 19th) ... he went into the hospital (for high blood pressure) weighing 142 lbs and left this rehab facility weighing 119 lbs (per his medical chart). At least while he was in the hospital we were able to speak with him on the phone. When he came home from this facility he was completely non-verbal

Having a loved one admitted to a rehab can be a stressful situation. I’m extremely grateful however for the care and compassion that I witnessed. One of employees there went above and beyond to make sure the transition went smooth and my loved one was taken care of . Thank you Christina and all those at Citrus Rehab!
