Yi Champions TaeKwonDo Academy has provided TaeKwonDo instruction in the Woodbridge area since 2000. We offer the original TaeKwonDo instruction which is certified by WTF (World TaeKwonDo Federation) and Kukkiwon (The World TaeKwonDo Headquarters). We have excellent instructors that are committed to providing the best TaeKwonDo training for all students including competitive sparring, poomsae, self defense and weapons training.
TaeKwonDo Classes are designed for all ages from three years old to adults. Throughout TaeKwonDo, all students will build confidence, develop discipline, learn respect, enhance self-esteem and strengthen one's mind and body. In addition, we are proud to have the World Champion and Gold Medalist as our Head Master, and she teaches all classes.

TaeKwonDo is one of the most systematic and scientific Korean traditional martial arts, that teaches more than physical fitness. It is a discipline that shows ways of enhancing our spirit and life through training physically and mentally. Today, it has become a global sport that has gained an international reputation, and stands among the official games in the Olympics.
Your child will enjoy the physical benefits of Tae Kwon Do while learning discipline, respect and self confidence, but most of all having fun and learning. YCTA also has a variety of instructors to ensure that all students get the proper training in a safe manner. The purpose of the program is to help children by teaching them to set goals and to focus and discipline themselves while building their confidence and self-esteem.

Each belt category will be divided into groups of four. Each separate group of four will compete within itself. The four members of each group will be judged in four performance categories: 1st Place (1) 2nd Place (1) and 3rd Place (2). Each member of the group will receive a trophy and a certificate.

Yi Champions does just what the name says. They create champions. My daughter started and 5 and is now onto her brown belt in just over a year. She loves her instructors and she loves going to class. She has classes 3 days/week and hasn't missed a single one. Grand Master Yi is truely a leader and friend to these kids. We have gone to birthday parties at other do jangs and absolutely doesn't come close to Yi Champions. My daughter has been in summer camp all summer and it has been amazing. Excellent academy. Focused. Energetic. My son went for years and now my daughter goes. Both loved it. The instructors are top notch. Firm yet fun. Disciplined yet approachable and energetic. They offer many children's programs including summer and spring break camps. Competitions and parties. I highly recommend this school. It has improved the focus, confidence and discipline of my kids.

Great school. No gimmicks. The impact this school has had on our lives is a great one. I can see the confidence that my kids have developed since starting at this academy. I shopped five other schools in the area this one was the only one I saw that did not make a blanket training session for each day. Here the kids get broken up into small groups and get individual attention from the masters, instructors and black belt assistants. If you are looking for a tae Kwan do school and not just a place where you buy belts every 3 months I recommend you look at this school even if it's a little

My daughter has been taking Tae Kwondo here for a few years now and it's been a really great experience. The dojang has a community feeling, and all of the staff are well trained and work very well with all ages. My daughter is 11, but I've seen students excel and have fun with TKD here as young as 2.5 yr and all the way into adulthood. No age is too old to begin taking Tae Kwondo, as it really is a beautiful practice and discipline.
