Back in 1914, some folks still thought that the "horseless carriage" was just a passing fancy, but George Taylor knew better. The Garage featured many features that made it unlike any other garage in the City: The foundation of Taylor's new garage was an old stone building; a former butcher shop and gold assay office that was left below ground when Denny way was re-graded in 1905.

I brought my Audi Q5 in because the EPC light came on. They were able to quickly diagnose the problem. I was very impressed by their professionalism and knowledge. There was an questionable problem which most repair shops would have gone ahead and replaced because it means they make more money but not here. They explained the situation and told me to come back if the EPC light came on again. I really felt like they put the customers first rather than profit. I would highly recommend using their services

I had my BMW 335i serviced here for a few years, after becoming tired of the sales-y service and higher prices at dealerships. Lance and his team always promptly fixed any mechanical issue (there were some big ones) with timely updates along the way. I've always enjoyed talking to Lance, who is patient in explaining issues and there's no BS. I cannot believe how much he knows about cars...all cars. He's just an all around great guy. I have been bringing my car here for the last year and have had nothing but fantastic service! Lance runs an amazing business, has immaculate facilities and has always been fair and discussed my car needs in full! Cautiously optimistic 😀 I've had such bad experiences with local dealerships that I am reluctant to go all in just yet. However they were able to get me in very quickly no notice and turned around my fix within a couple of hours I will definitely be back

Edit: I had simply left a 2 star review. I'm updating the review due to the response by the owner.
I went in for a routine service to my A6, in 2017. At the time I was looking for a reliable long term indy service provider. The appointment was booked with a typo in my name (mistake by the owner) which is why the owner claims to have no record and calls the review fake, proof of visit is now attached.
Unfortunately I was met with the same unprofessional attitude that is coming across in other reviews and replies by the owner.
Additionally the service provided was at a comparable cost to having

This has been my second fantastic experience with this shop. These guy texted and called me with every update along the way.
I was in a pretty big jam, I found out my rear wheels both had cracks in them, with the driver side rear leaking (6/10/2020). This was problematic as I am leaving for Colorado the next day. I called Fat City, brought it in 10 minutes later and picked it up this morning (6/11/2020). They were on time, professional, friendly, and have a cute dog.
Cannot express my appreciation for this shop.

Lance and his team has been taking care of our car since 2016. Lance is honest and straightforward, which I appreciate, and he runs a tight ship, but can at times come off as arrogant. I've not had any major issues with the car, but check engine lights, servicing, etc. all was done here to my satisfaction.

There are two major issues I've had: (1) Lance does a lot by himself (manages customers and runs the shop operations) which really is a two-person job. As a result he is often overwhelmed and can forget the details of the service provided only a few days back. (2) one in two times

I never write reviews but this is sadly worth my time. I brought my Audi here for a check engine light about a month ago. Lance helped me and he told me it was my fuel cap to which He then replaced for me. One month later the check engine light went on again. I brought it back, He ran the code and said it was a fuel cap And replaced it. I asked him what was different with this fuel cap and the one I JUST bought last month, he said, you brought the car in for a fuel cap last month? (Yes and I brought it to you, Lance). I had a very pleasant experience here. The shop was fast, transparent, and courteous. The best part was the invoice I received at the end even had comprehensive notes detailing everything that was done. The complimentary wash/vacuum was a nice touch too. It's really one of the better mechanic/auto shop experiences I have ever had and I don't say that lightly

Simply put stay away. Poor quality, high prices, and a big attitude to boot.
Took my Audi in for an oil change- all seemed well but then after a few days oil started leaking from the drain plug. Not a big deal- I figure things like this happen. I took my car back in to get it addressed, only to be lectured by the owner Lance who told me "there is no way your car is leaking from the oil plug because your car has a protective tray and it wouldn't leak the way you are describing". Now... I may not be a master mechanic but I've worked on my own cars since I was a kid and I know that when you start

I've been taking my BMW here for service and I'm very happy with this place. Location is very convenient and they always offer me a ride after dropping off my car. Lance is very honest and straightforward when your car needs something done and it's one of the cleanest shop I've ever seen! They also clean your car inside/outside when you take it for service.
I looked up the reviews before coming here for the first time and I saw some one star reviews. But, I'm a business owner and I understand it's very hard to please everybody. Customers can be very challenging sometimes

I got yelled at by the owner (Lance?) and thrown out of the shop - When I walked up to my car, parked in their driveway, I saw what looked to be grease brushed up against the body next to the driver's side door. I tried to clean it off with some spit and my thumb. Most of the grease came off pretty easily, but there appeared to be two little dents. When I went in to pay, I asked simply, "Did someone brush up against my car?" Lance replied, "We didn't wash your car." I politely repeated my question AND LANCE BEGAN YELLING AT ME. I'm a simple 2nd grade teacher

Beware of this place...especially if you're bringing in your only car. The estimate they gave me was half of what the actual repairs were. When I tried to explain I needed the car for work he accused me of "starting drama". I would highly recommend going somewhere else...

Like others on here, Lance the owner yelled at me and kicked me out of the shop, banning me for life (wouldn't go back anyway). I had the oil changed and walked from my place to pick it up after the service was done. When I walked up to it, I could easily see that someone with oil on their uniform had brushed up against the area where the front door meets the back door on the driver's-side. I licked my thumb and tried to rub it off real quick. That's when two knick marks under the grease were revealed. I tried to scrape them off, but it didn't work. What really stands out to me about Fat City motors is the attention to detail combined with clear concise and helpful communication. They have done a great job of servicing, fixing and diagnosing problems with my 2001 BMW X5 4.4 Sport. A team of people it is easy to recommend.

I recently bought a used 2003 Mini Cooper and brought it into Lance and his team at Fat City for a checkup and partial overhaul. At first I was a bit concerned that I had bought a lemon because the list of repairs seemed daunting but Lance and his team assured me we this was all surmountable and that we actually have a great little car. So Lance helped us prioritize the list and the team dove in. Of course all the while maintaining care when it came to our budget. Hi All. I have been a Fat City customer for quite some time. I have always found Lance at Fat City to be very fair and tell me the truth. And just this last couple of weeks, they proved that to me again. So to keep this short, I was driving my Mini up a steep hill to my house, it lost power, something was really wrong. So of course I took it to Fat City, they found that the fuel pump wasn't working and that it was under warranty. Awesome for me, right?

SO the Mini place on Lake City way is the only place it can be fixed, since it's a Mini dealer. So guess what, Fat City took my Mini

My VW Golf broke down on my wife in downtown Seattle, on a weekend, in the middle of the night. Not great.

Next morning I had it towed to the closest shop, which had great reviews but I knew nothing about. Fat City.

Lance was terrific, cordial, understanding, and explanatory when needed. His service was great.

The cost came out a tad lower than he quoted which was nice, and he let me stay parked a little after close so I could take my three boys and wife to dinner after the long drive into Seattle.

Bill was always in a hurry. It didn't matter what he was doing. Even his youth and school days were spent rushing just to get to the next thing, even if he didn't know what the next thing was going to be. So it surprised no one when suddenly he was the high bidder on ebay for a Benz S600. Not just any high bidder, mind you. He was the new Seattle owner of a car sitting in Miami.
