The check-in process is always easy, and the front-desk staff always know their stuff. They will work on finding the best prices for parts, and they never rip me off. They usually say, "you don't need that yet." We're super lucky to now live just a few blocks away, but I would happily drive from another neighborhood to get the high-quality service at Moss Alley.

A bit delayed but as a New Yorker, skeptical of the typical script of car service and mechanics, Moss Alley was a pleasant surprise and now my go to garage.

I called Moss Alley because I heard from family that they were a very honest business and good for Subarus. Went in for what I thought was a Clutch replacement and oil change. Person who picked up was super nice and got me in same day. Was up front on cost, estimates and called to ask me what I wanted to move forward with. Most importantly, they tested my clutch and determined that it was fine for now and didn't need to be replaced immediately -- essentially saving me $1000 on what is a mostly labor-intensive job... which is just above and beyond customer appreciation. I was trying to get home to Boise for Thanksgiving with my son. A.J. and Moss Alley Motors were able to get my car in, diagnose the problem, make the repair, and get me on my way in time. I appreciated their help and their extra efforts!

I started going to Moss Alley in 2019 and liked them. We moved away, and then were in town for a wedding this past Sunday (8/15). Wouldn’t you know it, my trusty 2000 Lexus started acting up with rough idle. I called Moss Alley first thing Monday morning (8/16) and they were able to get me scheduled and out of there the next morning (8/17). Techs had even stayed late to finish the job. Moss Alley has done a great job for me with friendly techs and service writers, excellent and clear communication, and matter-of-fact talk - no condescending attitudes like you get at some shops - so glad I started

These guys are truly one of a kind! Exceptional service and super quick turnaround. I needed a lot of work done, everything from brakes, to new tires -- they got my car back to me by the next day. Couldn't have ask for anything better. Pricing is also pretty comparable to any other local mechanic. Would highly recommend!

This shop is a treasure. Helpful people, always willing to explain what is going on with my 20 year old Volvo. I have confidence in their work. Some people carp about their service and prices...my opinion is you get what you pay for. Again, this place is great.

I went to have a catalytic converter shield installed. It was easy to schedule online. My questions were answered on the phone and online. The shop is clean and orderly in a great location, with nice staff who communicate well. Everything was on time as promised. As I drove away I noticed a new rattle. I drove right back, and they made the necessary adjustment to resolve it. What's not to love?

Had an absolute delight of an experience. Dropped off Friday morning, picked up Tuesday morning for a full checkup/tuneup, exhaust smoke check.
Kendra was friendly, understanding, and open book about every step of the process, and as a new car owner this was very appreciated.

Moss Alley Motors has excellent customer service. We had recently gotten an oil change at our dealer but the oil light remained on, even after the job was "complete." I didn't want to take it back there because I'd waited TWO hours at the dealership for an oil change ONLY. Though they'd apologized for the wait they said it was because the mechanic had left midway through the job.

I didn't wat to take it back there because it was such a strange experience and the wait was SO SO long. I decided to give Moss Alley Motors a chance.

This place is great. I brought in my Chevy Blazer to them when it broke down, and they got it diagnosed and tried to fix it the issue the same day. When what was diagnosis turned out to not be the issue, they stopped labor, called me, let me know what the other issue might be, and then reduced their labor charge to nearly half of what it really was as a courtesy when I couldn't afford to have them keep working. Don was super professional and friendly the whole way through, and extremely apologetic that the issue they found was unrelated to the main problem. All together they only charged me for

This place has lost it. I was excited to find them initially and happy to support what I thought was a local business. I've been going to them for a few years, but I've finally decided to look elsewhere, kind of like waking up from a bad relationship and realizing you've lost your sense of what it means to be treated well and that you were just holding on to the memory of what was. The problems are: really, really poor communication, clear tension between the front office and the folks who are doing the engine work, impersonal and rude dismissal of clients on all fronts, charging

New to Seattle, I was so lucky to find this wonderful shop right in my neighborhood! Not only did they solve a problem with my car that several different garages were unable to tackle, but they also offered me important information about my car, without any pressure to spend more money. I went into Moss Alley because the emissions light on my dash was on. After they looked at it Kendra called me and said I needed a new carbon canister. The cost: $969! She said that I couldn't drive it as is. Well, I didn't have that so I paid them $130 for checking it and took it to Your Family Auto on Cherry for a second opinion. They told me that they could replace the canister for $348! But that's not all. I asked them to make sure I did, in fact need a new canister. When I went to pick it up he charged me $30! All it needed was a new gas cap! The light on my dash is off now

They said they did a 60k service on a subaru 2016. They didn't flush the brake fluid, said do it next time. They didn't replace the rear brakes either. It was late. There was a last minute issue. Their actual price was several hundred dollars more than bid... for a 60k standard service. I mean... on a 60k general service you don't flush the brake fluid? C'mon

Super helpful, trustworthy, affordable, friendly. They've been my go-to mechanics for a few years now. It's normally just for routine maintenance (and I totally trust them if they tell me something needs to be done on my car, because usually they don't). Recently my catalytic converter was stolen and they helped me get it replaced quickly, got a guard put on, and were very helpful in dealing with the insurance company. I can tell they're working hard to keep things as affordable as they can for their customers too.

Is there ten stars to be given? They deserve it.

This is the best shop in Seattle. They price very well and give good service. This shops take you back, to what it used to be in the day ,when mechanics actually cared for you and your car.

They even sent a text to me when the car was done.

This will be the shop I'll go to forever and ever.

Oil change finished within 2 hours. Gave me the heads up that my headlight was out and offered to replace it! 3% charge if paying using credit card. Planning to come here again!

First time going to an auto shop and I will be a customer until the day I move out of Seattle.

They squeezed me in for an oil change on the same day I called, agreed to check the charging system while they were at it, and took a bunch of time explaining reasons why the tire pressor lights might be going off. Two hours later I got a call saying that everything was done already, and giving more info on the tire pressor sensors. Donovan spent 15 minutes explaining more in depth the pros and cons of checking the tire pressor lights now on my snow tires, explaining that he didn't want me to spend

Where to begin... the shop did not make me furious, the "manager", not sure that's the correct title, 'AJ' tried to rip me off. I own a 2006 Land Rover, and I recently drove it 3,000 miles across country, from Alaska to Seattle, with a very heavy load. It is an older car, and it did have a cv joint rip out of the wheel (axle part) in the mountains of British Columbia, plagued by construction.
Being a robust tank of a vehicle, I managed to continue to drive it 650 miles across the US/CAN border and to my new home in Capitol Hill, Seattle. The axle did fail after I hit something

We've been taking our car here since we moved to Seattle almost 10 years ago. I trust the folks here and know that my 2006 Toyota Highlander will continue to last us because we get a regular service and maintenance from MAM. My dog is also in love with them, so it what more could you ask for?

Moss Alley is the best! The customer service is amazing. They never sell you any service your car doesn't really need. They will let you know when it's definitely time to have a repair or service completed. I love that they look after my wallet and my car in this way.

Asked for simple services, new tires, oil change, tune up. Not only do they need car for several days, they do not complete any work you ask for. Rather wait and report the same issues you brought it to them for.

OMG, thank you for saving our 1994 Astro Van from extinction! It has held out for u as for all these years but started sputtering when we dropped off our Mini. They squeezed us in or we would have had to "limp home". It needed many coolant hoses and a radiator core ....
