Thanks to the far-reaching influence of the world wide web, a store front thousands of miles away is at your fingertips, which makes it an exciting time for both retailers and shoppers. While this is all occurring on a global scale, surprisingly the internet may serve us locally best of all.

How? Well we, the retailer, have to stay focused on two fronts: first we have to maintain a comprehensive selection of products at competitive prices and second, our in-store customer service has to enhance your cycling experience and facilitate your best ride-not easy tasks, but ones that we're excited to embrace. We realize that 80% of consumers research their purchases online and we want to be your go-to resource.

Payton took the time to listen to what I was looking for in a mountain bike and then made several suggestions never pushing the “most expensive model” which was refreshing. Honesty today is a rare quality these days! I purchased a bike from him after we spoke for a while and decided the best fit and model for me. I will definitely use them again for future bike purchases and service! Shop local!!!

I bought my Trek Checkpoint here. Nice experience but not like the trek store in Madison, Wi. Staff was nice informative and seemed patient except for the fact that I was told my tires on my checkpoint must have its tires inflated to 80 psi? I was surprised to hear it but, oh well. Not taking my bike for service so far away anyway.

I went to purchase the next size bike for my son so I figured I’d bring my others sons bike in (that I purchased from Oswego Cyclery) to have the chain put on that recently fell off. I was in the middle of moving so my tools were an hour away otherwise I would have done it myself. I figured since I was about to purchase a new bike and that since I bought that bike from them that they would have just taken care of that chain for me. They wanted to charge me a service fee for the quick fix. I understand it’s a business but there are plenty of bike shops out there that offer much better customer

I live in Naperville and just happened to call Oswego cycle about a flat tire on my Trek. The employee said they could fix it in about ten minutes if I could wait. I did mention my low gears were slipping and I could leave the bike. They fixed the flat and adjusted all my gears at no additional cost, all under 10 minutes!
Wow they have me and my entire family as customers for life. What great people, customer service unbelievable!
Thanks!!

Our kid’s bike was having issues with the gears and we figured we’d get a tune-up, but we were told it could be fixed in about ten minutes if we wouldn’t mind waiting, so we did. After about five minutes the bike was fixed and we were satisfied, happy and out the door.

We've purchased bikes and accessories from Oswego Cyclery for many years. We always received great service and advice.
This last visit I needed some tools and extra inner tubes for a mountain bike race. The sales person talked me into converting my tire and rims to tubeless. He gave me instructions and the supplies I needed. After a little trial and error, my bike tires are now tubeless and held air the entire 23 mile race.
The store is currently moving into a space next door. Their inventory/selection of products seemed a little light, but it's understandable during the transition. I'm looking

Oswego Cyclery fixed a flat on my daughter’s bike in no time at all and for a good price.
I had to supply my own tube for the tire because they haven’t been able to keep tubes in stock because of all the people using their bikes again during the pandemic. It’s not their fault so I’d suggest calling ahead if you need a tube.

Two old retirees took in two 20 year old bikes for "tune ups". The staff was very patient and helpful. Purchased a new bike rack for the car - they were willing to "install" it for us for the first time to take the bikes home. A huge help to us. Wonderful shop and staff.

Excellent service. Today we purchased 2 bikes after searching 3 other bike shops. Payton was our Sales Rep and he is very knowledgeable and went out of his way to help us. We were very satisfied with Oswego Cyclery. Payton made sure we knew all need to know. He also didn't pressure us to buy expensive bikes as other bike shops did.
Thank you Payton and Oswego Cyclery!!! We are very happy!!!!!

Bottom Line: Which is better, a sale at a lower margin and a happy customer or no sale at no margin and this review. Two years ago I had two bikes tuned up at their shop. It was recommended that we replace the chains on both bikes because they were eight years old. I took their advice and had them replaced. How less than two years later both of the chains have broken. When the first one broke last year, I said WOW, never had that happen and I went back to their shop and bought a new chain. How the chain on the other bike that they replaced two years ago has broken. I went back to the shop today

Staff was very helpful and patient with my questions. Have had my bike serviced there as well and outcomes have been swell. I really like that they host different classes on roadside bike repairs, and others that are similar.

We have been using Oswego Cyclery for many years. They carry quality bikes and the service is super. Over the years we have purchased many many bikes as our three kids have grown fast. I recommend getting tune ups yearly for the older bikes and they do a great job with those. They also make delivery and pickups available if you ask. Super convenient! Art and his staff are top notch!

Awesome place for all your cycling needs. All the employees I met were friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help! They were patient with me and explained exactly what they would be doing to my bike and how much it would cost beforehand. I felt comfortable leaving my bike in the hands of Oswego Cyclery! Will definitely visit again.

I brought in an older bike for some TLC and got some of the best service I have ever had! Payton was friendly, knowledgable, and patient as he explained what issues he saw. He then fixed the bike up quickly and made me feel very comfortable with the process. I was very happy with my entire experience and will be going back for any future cycling needs! He even helped me get the bike out of my car and back in! Start to finish, Payton was amazing!!

The staff here was very helpful and friendly BUT I have to agree with other reviewers that their service department leaves a lot to be desired. Dropped off a part for a simple repair that was taking longer than expected called about it and was told by a certain day maybe but by a later date for sure. Both dates came and went and still no call. I called THEM again and low & behold they said "oh it's done". Not only did the repair take longer than I feel it should have it was also more expensive than the same repairs back home where I'm from.

The people are nice enough, but I was dealing with a guy who was not much help at all. I kind of told him what I was looking for, and he seemed very unsure of what to show me. I basically ended up going to the bike I had walked in to see.
They just moved to a new location which its nicer than the old place.
Biggest problem is they have no inventory, that is to say unless you are 5'10" or taller. I needed a 16.5 inch frame to test ride, and they had absolutely nothing in that size, in any bike. The closest was a 18.5 and they was to big in the style bike I was looking at. I am5'7

Oswego Cyclery - Looks like the name changed well over a year ago. Did the shop get new ownership?

Last time I was here was in 2011 when I needed a tube replaced. It was during the day and the shop got it fixed within 10 minutes. I imagine most people don't visit bike shops during the workday, so I definitely timed it well. My most recent experience was today when I went in looking for a new bike. Nate helped me out and was super helpful. I've been eyeing some of the 2013 closeout Treks and he walked me through the different models. He also suggested taking a look at some of the other

NOW KNOWN AS OSWEGO CYCLERY

When a need for a bicycle surfaced recently, we looked into different places but decided to try Oswego Cyclery. I thought it was important to support a private and locally owned business, even though we would likely pay a little more. That we did!

Cost issues aside, the service we received from Oswego Cyclery was outstanding. We had a couple of sales people who were very knowledgeable and courteous, two things we knew we wouldn't get at a local department store chain!

They two men helped us select just the right bicycle that fit our needs and our budget.
