We rented the Villa Californa after a mix up with the Carter home over the Thanksgiving week. We were told we would be receiving a refund due the fact that the house had not been cleaned from the previous renters. All the towels had been used and in piles in the bathrooms and sauna. The trash had not be removed and the bathroom toilet in the laundry room had been used and not flushed with fecal material stinking the down stairs. The bedding was not stripped nor were the floors vacuumed and insect's were all over the floor. We were told that it was approved for us to bring our dogs, yet there

I was a bit nervous about renting from this agency after I read some of the reviews but a friend recommended it to me so I took a chance and I'm SO glad I did.

I rented the Paloma house for a 10 day stay and I was VERY happy with it. It was clean, well appointed (had pretty much everything I would use at home), and conveniently located right off of Highway 1. It was a beautiful, comfortable, and peaceful retreat to recharge my batteries. I don't know about the other houses this rental agency has but the Paloma house was fantastic.

About 20 minutes away by car is the Point Arena light

These are clearly bad business owners, and most likely bad, unethical human beings. Our stay at Villa California, which was expensive, included the following degradations:

1. First floor bathroom overflowed with feces on our first use. We called the owners emergency numbers numerous times, including the following day, and they never returned the call.

2. Master bath and shower did not work. Period.

3. Went back to the 2nd floor bath, stepping over feces we cleaned, and the shower there worked, but the light did not. Got out our camping latern out of the car to see our selves shower in filth

The agency has had it's ups and downs but lately it is really thriving again. They don't list as many homes as they used to, but the ones they have show a great variety of amenities and prices. They are most geared to doing everything over the internet. Phone messages may take a day or two to be returned except the emergency numbers after arrival. Our house is always cleaned impeccably before we arrive. Irish Beach is a wonderful little community with a private park/small lake/picnic area and a private access road to the beach (auto gate key is given with home rental if the home

If there is a minus 5, it'll be the place we rented from this Agency for $400/night. Advertised as a luxurious villa, it is an unfinished construction project with unkempt weed covered yard with cracked stairway, dirt floor and bare stud closets, spider and bed bug infestation (bite marks still visible three months after the stay), dirty gooey gunk on plates, cheap pots, pans, chipped dishes and cups. Beddings reeked with body odors from previous use, inflatable bed in the closet touted as queen size bed, non-functioning and rusty showers and clogged drains, and a worn out old hot tub

The once great and mighty Irish Beach rental agency is no longer. RIP to what had been a regular friend over the past couple of decades.
Nebenzhal was our retreat from the world. Not only is that property no longer available, apparently all of their vaunted ocean front properties are gone, their list of homes is down to a handful on one webpage and the staff has shrunk away from the world.
Try to get a hold of someone in the office! I dare you! Not only do they simply never answer the phone, they don't reply to any emails or other means of contact. They used to be a 5 star organization

I unfortunately have to agree with the negative reviews posted here. Let me be clear though -
the house we stayed in was great. The service/operation of Irish Beach was so awful I'm embarrassed for them. There were several early signs of this - before our visit, we had a few minor questions, but trying to get a hold of anyone by phone or email was impossible. Calls went unanswered, there was no way to leave a message, and I don't think the people there know how to use email.

The biggest glaring issue was that in the info packet they provided us once we booked, THE ADDRESS FOR THE HOUSE

My wife's aunt lives in Irish Beach, so every few years her family goes there for Thanksgiving. We have rented homes in the past with no issue. We went online to book the house we like and it showed available. We proceeded to move forward with the reservation.

One week later, they informed us that the house we reserved was under construction and would not be ready, canceling our reservation. We found another house through homeaway.com as we were told our reservation was canceled. My wife emailed them back that we did not need their help any further.

Another week later and we get

This is our third time renting from this agency and we could not be happier. Francesca, Kim and Gordon provided us with outstanding service from the time we booked in Dec 2014 until we checked out this past Saturday. We stayed in the Bellagio House for 8 days and loved the property.

The Good:
The house is very well designed with an open floor plan providing amazing views, kitchen is set up in a way so that as you work, you are enjoying the view (that is a real nice touch)
Furniture is very comfortable
Beds are perfect (not too hard or too soft)
Kitchen is EXTREMELY well stocked
Deck is spacious

Rented this because a trip to Oregon went sour. The home we rented was beautiful with access to a private beach and tidal pools. A truly beautiful home with one problem.... One of the bathrooms had shoddy repairs to a leak in the shower area and you could see black mold growing. I ended up with a severe reaction to the decorative candles and we had to put them into cabinets so I could breathe! Did not know I was scent sensitive! Other than that quite nice and since it was September and a holiday weekend we got a price break!

I can't say enough good things about Irish Beach ! My family has been renting houses there since 1980. Over the years we have stayed at almost every house there. There are small houses for a romantic getaway for two or there are large houses for a family reunion or a large family. Of course the ones on the "Bluff " overlooking the ocean are the best and we have our favorites !! I take friends there every year for a " Girls " getaway and we have a blast. The houses are well stocked so you can cook meals there or there are several good restaurants in the area. You can&apos

This was our second visit to Irish Beach and the little Carter house. We absolutely love this place. So easy to get to rivers to kayak. Close to Mendo, Fort Bragg and Point Arena. At the the end of the day is a little lovely hot tub with the waves in the back ground. We are already planning our next trip. My only complaint was the sketchy cell phone and internet, and pet stains on the the carpet, and dirty windows.

Avoid them! Please be aware that this agency's customer service sucks...they offer claims that they don't keep up with, want to charge additional fees after you have already paid and confirmed your reservation and cancel your reservation at their will without making effort to accommodate customer's needs. I was initially thrilled when I received a response from them to my inquiry as their email stated of a 3rd night free special...After re-confirming several times with their agent through several emails that this offer is valid for the memorial day weekend and being reassured, I

Classic bait and switch. They will allow you to reserve a property within the terms of their contract.

They will then contact you long after the contract has been signed and returned to say they made a mistake, and you have to stay longer in order to hold the reservation.

The first time they did this to us was several years ago. We figured it was a mistake, and we could stay the extra day so we did. The second time we had already booked travel in and out, and we could not change our dates. Management was completely unbending to help with what they admitted was an "error" on their
