CMI was the best landlord that I had in Madison (lived at both Baldwin Corners and 22 Dayton) - they were always super responsive and helpful whenever I needed anything from them. The buildings are well-maintained and offer great value, I highly recommend for anyone looking to move into the area.

Critical: Professionalism
CMI Management is extremely rude, condescending, and fail to treat their prospective tenants like people. If possible, consider renting from a smaller management company, as these folks are subpar.

Haven't lived there yet, but the administrative assistant Katrina Knight was extremely helpful and went out of her way to make sure I was able to get an apartment for next year as they were all getting swept up within a day. So far with the people I have met there they have been super friendly helpful, and professional. If I forget to update this in the future (Renting in August 2022) assume I have no complaints.

I lived at 22 E Dayton for 6 years. I had a very positive experience with CMI during that time. They were responsive and I felt that the building was very well cared for. Maintenance requests were handled quickly and professionally. Their buildings are also a tremendous value. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an apartment in Madison.

I lived at 22 E Dayton this year and had a wonderful experience. The leasing office always responded extremely promptly and was exceptionally helpful and courteous. Maintenance was always quick to come by and address any issues, but we had very few. Cynthia specifically helped me on multiple occasions whenever any issues arose and even personally sent a package that. had been delivered after I moved out back to my home address. Cannot say enough good things about my experience with CMI.

I lived at The Hudson on Atwood Avenue for two years. CMI was very helpful, courteous and responsive to anything I needed throughout my stay. When I needed to sublease, CMI helped me throughout the process with information and tips to get my apartment rented ASAP.
The Hudson is in a great location for a very competitive price.

I have lived many places across this nation and this by far has been one of the best experiences as far as management goes. We absolutely LOVE our home here, and the location you can't beat! (We do have a upstairs neighbor who makes a little noise but hey cant have everything right?) Our complex is kept up with cleanliness and maintenance. The best part of our experience has to be the staff. We love the Maintenance crew as they not only help with apartment issues but they also give great advice and are very warm and friendly. I also adore Cynthia, she has been nothing but sweet, kind and helpful

The women in the office are absolutely horrendous. They're incredibly rude and condescending. They're also very unorganized and often don't seem to have any idea what they're doing. Absolutely write down/record every interaction because they will twist anything to screw you over.
On the flip side, Tom and the maintenance people are super nice and helpful, and I like my building, hence the one star.
I would highly recommend renting from a smaller rental company where they actually treat you like people. Avoid CMI if you can.

CMI Management has been one of the best management companies to rent from in Madison. The office staff has been very responsive to work requests. After moving in we had a poor experience with a subcontractor who performed maintenance on our unit, CMI staff was quick to take responsibility and remedy the issues. With the age of our building there are going to be issues, however it is reassuring to know that the property managers take pride in their buildings and are eager to help should an issue arise. Will gladly rent from them again!

I rented with CMI for about a year and have had a super positive experience with them. Regarding the more negative reviews about CMI, I have to say that I truly think that those are things of the past. I say this because my boyfriend has rented with them for two years.
