The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child's first visit to the dentist occur by 12 months of age. This visit will enable the doctor to evaluate your child and introduce you to proper oral hygiene. Diet, fluoride, finger and pacifier habits and tooth eruption will be discussed to insure optimal dental health.
What is Pediatric Dentistry? At what age should my child visit the dentist? What guidelines will help children remain cavity free? Tips for helping children develop positive dental habits. How important is a child's diet in the prevention of cavities? What are dental sealants and who can benefit from them?
The first 30 minutes after an accident are the most critical to treatment of dental trauma. If a permanent tooth is knocked out, gently rinse, but do not scrub the tooth under water. Replace the tooth in the socket if possible. If this is impossible, place the tooth in a glass of milk or a clean wet cloth and come to the office immediately.

Dr. Dave has been my daughter’s dentist since she was two years old. He and his staff have always delivered caring and comfortable care, attending to every question and concern we each may have. I also love the attention to detail with the flavorful toothpastes and gloves! Very appreciative for Dr. Dave and his staff!!

This is a great pediatric dentist! I have zero complaints with service and how my child was treated at this appointment. The staff were all warm, welcoming, and inviting! It was a great experience all around and I'm glad I picked Raleigh Pediatric Dentistry! They had SUPER awesome prize box the kids could pick from and the ocean theme was great. I just loved how well my child was treated during her visit and also how friendly everyone was.

My 5 yo daughter has medical anxiety and we have unsuccessfully attempted to have her teeth cleaned and examined at two other places. I guess the third time is the charm, because Raleigh Pediatric Dentistry got to see her chompers! They took extra time to explain the equipment and make sure she was comfortable before trying to clean her teeth, and it made all the difference. They were super accommodating with my family needs and I honestly haven’t had a better experience with an appointment during this COVID season (and we’ve had lots of appointments). Thank you!
