Unfortunately, we have lost several oak trees in the past couple of years due to parasites. Due to this we are no longer allowing carry-in firewood. Firewood is available for purchase at the camp store. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but in order to preserve the trees within the campground and the surrounding area we feel it is necessary.
Thank you for your understanding. We are located in Coloma, Michigan. We are 15 minutes south of South Haven and only 15 minutes north or St. Joseph and Benton Harbor. We are also only 5 minutes from beautiful Lake Michigan which offers many beaches for your enjoyment. There are many local fishing charters for an exciting day on the lake as well as many local golf courses.

Came in from out of state. Had a great time checking in no issues there. We had a lovely spot in the back of the campground which we loved. It was very nice and private. However late at night when you are just laying in the tent you can hear lots of traffic off off the highway. Def not super quiet but still get the camping vibe but feel like you’re in a little city not out in the woods per say. Overall our experience was a 8 out of 10. Minus the noise issue with the highway the bathrooms were definitely further from the camp site so we had to use Porta Johns most the time and felt like the showers

We love this campground! It is clean and well maintained. They have a small putt putt golf course, two different playground areas, a volleyball net, basketball court and swimming pond. We were very hesitant at first to swim in the pond, but we were pleasantly surprised at how clean and sandy it was! They put a dye in the pond that makes it a blue color but prevents the sun from making the weeds grow.
Another thing we love is that the owners, Lisa and Doug, make sure rules are followed and enforce them. They are wonderful people who go above and beyond to make your stay great!

Absolutely a terrible experience from the moment we got here we found this place on the internet and the pictures are extremely misleading! first off there is no lake it should be called Dune Pond campground and the water is nasty and DYED blue with chemicals or dye (hopefully safe for people as they expect people to swim in it) it's smaller than a pond and there's nasty guck and mosquito larvae in it. They started harassing us from the second we pulled in because we were a young couple apparently. They were so rude to us from go and even kept coming around every hour to "check"

I stayed at rustic tent site for two nights and had a great time! The owners are kind and helpful. The trails, swimming hole, and other activities were perfect for kids and young adults. The bathrooms were clean and looked to be updated. The beach and other activities are only 15 minutes away! Even with the pandemic the campground was a great place to stay and get away from normal living.

I love this place. It is reasonably priced. There are many secluded tent sights. The trees are abundant. The lake is picturesque. My favorite part though has to do with our timing. We were able to see the life cycle of these tiny frogs. Tadpoles in the lake, tiny frogs with their little tails still on exploring the beach, and then tiny frogs about 5/16 of and inch big hopping all over the place. It is absolutely delightful. We explored the dunes and I am enchanted by the growth and life everywhere I look. Also there are two playgrounds and a bathroom facility complete with shower. I would recommend

Beautiful campground site! Owners are very accommodating and welcoming! Bathrooms are extremely clean. Our favorite was the natural spring swimming lake which was relaxing and warm! Sand Dunes located on the site were a wonderful sight to see! My boys had a blast. Great 1st time camping experience, tent camping at that. Lol

Very nice wooded sites for a family campground. The campsites are all different sizes. There were a couple that were hard for long campers to get into. You share water poles and electric posts with 2 sites. We needed to use 2 hoses to get to our water. So make sure you have enough power and hose. The Bathhouse was always clean. There are only 2 showers for the campground. Only had to wait for night showers. Location is close to South Haven. Nice campground would recommend to other families.

Got charged $100 for bumping their makeshift fire pit with my front tire. They actually called law enforcement. It was downpouring rain when we left and it was an accident. Human error. We prepaid for 1 site x3 nights and a second site for overflow family x2 nights. Ended up only using 1 site for 2 nights due to heat and rain. We left 24 hours… early, so it was all win win for you. FYI half the campers were unloading fireword from their trunks, thought for sure you'd catch some of that rule violating as well. Yes we read your rules, but overkill is rude and nasty. Camp elsewhere, not worth

Our kids loved the small lake, playground & being able to ride bikes around the whole park. We had a great time & hope to go back again soon. It was also a plus to get the campsite right next to our friends who were also camping. Thd lady keeping the bathrooms clean did amazing & was always very friendly.

An okay campground for families with kids. Close to a couple Lake Michigan beaches. I think most people wouldn't venture into the pond in the campground. There was a loaf of unsliced moldy bread floating around in it. It was also a strange color. The chainsaw, which was operated by the owner, was an annoying sound to hear throughout the day. The owners seemed to be everywhere... a bit annoying. Also, there's only one store in the area and one pizza place. Everything else seemed to be closed down... And it's an 18 minute drive to civilization, downtown St. Joseph.

Upon arrival, we were immediately yelled at by the owner Doug for a confusing check-in process. Instead of explaining that a car tag was needed he followed us to the camp site and very rudely demanded us to leave the site, even though prior to arrival we called and explained to them that half of our group would be coming later. There was no email of explanations about campground rules, camp site number or campground facilities. We had to call for all information. It was very clear from the beginning that they prefer families to stay at their site not multiple adults.

Stayed there for a couple of night at the end of May 2015. Very clean, especially the bath houses. Nice pond to walk to surrounded by sand dunes to explore. I would of rated this campground 4 stars due the the fact that the roads were not paved, but because the owners/hosts were so friendly and accessible, I had to rate it 5 stars. Will definitely go back!

We camped Memorial day 2015 and enjoyed it. Check in was easy. We stayed for 4 days. The campground was quiet and the owners enforced quiet time which was from 11pm-7:30am. The restrooms were ok for a campground, I think maybe if they upgraded the bathroom/shower area it would be better. 80 something campsites and two showers it was little hard to get a shower in. The bathrooms were cleaned often too. The pond was small, the kids swam in it. The pond served it's purpose. We were right across from the playground which my kids loved. The campground had dunes you could walk on it was pretty

We loved our time here. We "transferred" in from another campground, and these nice folks kept a primitive site for us. Which turned out great. It was quiet. Clean. And all around enjoyable. A kid comes around with firewood as needed. The bathrooms and showers are decent. There's a playground for the kiddos & a lake/pond. Which is best only for canoeing or kayaking. (Mucky)

This rating was going to be higher initially, but things soured when we were leaving. Family owned campground, just off of Blue Star Highway, north of St. Joseph. Price was a little high but understandable for a private campground. Ice was $2, wood was $10/$20 - $10 bought you about 2 cords of wood, which they delivered it on a golfcart. Nice.
We were at the far end of the campground, so the noise was minimal. They allow dogs too, mine was barking at the screeching frogs at nightfall! Loud. Plenty of wood was found by foraging thru the surrounding woods. it was early in the year

My Wife, 2 little girls and I LOVE Dune Lake: We like Dune Lake so much that we became seasonal campers, spending every weekend in the summer. And we've now been there for 10 years. Dune Lake is a private campground with a woodsy state-park feel to it. (not like some K.O.A.'s where folks are camped right on top of each other.) The spring-fed swimming lake is wonderful. And there are lots of activities and special events including Christmas in July,Ho down, Luau weekend, and The not-to-be missed haunted Forest in October. Doug and Deb are wonderful hosts. There is a lot to do in the area

Only 2 hours from downtown Chicago, makes for a great low-key weekend getaway. Don't forget the time change!
Family owned & operated - they are always friendly and accomodating. $25 a night for the primitive sites. The sites are closeby each other, but it's great for groups. The ground is more sandy than muddy which is nice, I don't feel as dirty. Women's bathroom is clean, there is always plenty of hot water.
Pretty good location to nearby wineries, and there are 3 canoing/kayaking places anywhere from 20-60 minutes away.

This is a family owned and operated campground. The owners were really great at making us feel right at home. It was a lot smaller than I thought based on the website and their lake made for swimming was green and disgusting. Campsites are pretty close to one another and are great for groups. Bathrooms as well as the showers were always clean. They also had a playground and basketball court that were good for the kids.
5 stars for service
