Our certified instructors specialize in Pilates for chronic pain management, fibromyalgia, and pre- and post-natal Pilates. We also offer classes specifically designed for other Pilates instructors. After Kathryn had taken Pilates classes for a few months she was amazed to find that she wore her body differently. She began to dedicate more and more time to Pilates and finally decided to leave her job in finance to become a certified Pilates instructor. Kathryn studied under Marie-Jose Blom-Lawrence at Long Beach Dance Conditioning and received her certification in 2004.
Exercise should be enjoyable! Our Classic and Jump Reformer classes are a fun way to achieve more strength, tone, and flexibility. With only five students in our reformer classes, our instructors have the time to help you correct and refine your Pilates practice. Our fun and fast moving classes are designed to strengthen your Pilates foundation and challenge you to advance your skills.
At Viva Pilates Studio, our professional staff develops a tailored repertoire that includes exercises on the mat, reformer, Wunda chair and trapeze table. Clients can choose a private class or share their session with a friend - all under the guidance of one of our certified instructors. Pilates exercises are designed to strengthen core muscles, increase flexibility, restore muscle balance, and improve posture.
Pilates exercises help alleviate widespread fibromyalgia pain by focusing on gentle strengthening and low impact movement while avoiding jarring movements that can cause injury. Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain syndrome with widespread tender points and muscle pain throughout the body. Most people with fibromyalgia also report other symptoms including fatigue and difficulty sleeping.
Viva Pilates Studio offers a fitness routine that can help you and your baby stay healthy throughout pregnancy and beyond. We modify our classes to make sure you and your baby stay safe and strong. Pilates centers you with a focus on posture, breathing and core work. It strengthens and gently stretches the pregnant body and encourages you to embrace the physical changes the body goes through during pregnancy.

I have been going to Viva Pilates for 10 years and will never go anywhere else. Not only are the classes phenomenal but the teachers are incredibly special. Kathryn creates such a warm and fun environment, I always look forward to my pilates class. I cannot recommend them enough. It's truly an incredible place.
