Owner, Sean Hickey (Doctor of Physical Therapy), developed the concept of FITT University after years of assisting individuals meet their health and recovery goals. He wanted to blend his physical therapy experience with his knowledge of personal training. Deriving 4 pillars of success to establishing and maintaining a long lasting healthier lifestyle.

Members of FITT University will be given a curriculum that aims to target their specific fitness needs. Their curriculum will be packaged by semesters (2 months). Thus allowing adequate time to develop results, and begin learning the fundamentals of long-lasting healthy habits.
Services
Sean graduated with his Exercise Physiology Degree from the University of Delaware and his Doctoral degree from Northeastern University. He worked as a Clinic Director at an outpatient Physical Therapy clinic for the over 5 years specializing in sports related injuries, orthopedic pathologies and back injuries.

I've been seeing Sean for personal training sessions about 2x/week since last September. I've had lower back pain and postural issues for some time now and when I first came across Fitt U, I was pleased by the fact that Sean was not only a trainer but also a physical therapist. During my initial consult with him, it was evident how educated he was about the human body as well as how different muscles are related and affect each other. I've worked with a half dozen talented and knowledgeable personal trainers over the years and Sean Hickey, the owner of Fitt University, is by far the best of them. He came highly recommended by a friend and I've been training with him regularly 2-3 times a week ever since. In fact, I'm about to renew my FU membership.

I'm absolutely convinced that personal training is the ONLY way to go! (And it's not just because there's a much greater change of contracting COVID in regular gyms than at FITT U - go see for yourself). Since going to FITT, I am the strongest and most fit I've ever been which has motivated me to eat better, be more active, and live more adventurously.

As a result, my anxiety has decreased significantly, I'm happier in my marriage, and I'm a much better leader to those at work which is allowing my business to thrive.

All I can say is "Wow!". Over the years, I have worked with numerous personal trainers and belonged to many gyms and sports health clubs and hands down working with Sean and Haley has been the best experience I have ever had. From my consultative assessment session with Sean and the physical therapy expertise and guidance he has provided to my daughter regarding a foot/ankle issue to my workouts with Haley, everything has been top notch and exceeded expectations!

The facilities are awesome and it is great to work out in a private setting. The workouts with Haley are very strenuous

I started to see Sean at Fitt University about a month ago. I have a ruptured disc in my spine and was experiencing significant pain radiating down my leg. Someone told me about him and they were spot on. He is simply amazing and has helped me tremendously. The PT and Exercise routine in his gym has given me everything I need to feel great again. I cannot thank Sean enough for everything he is doing from me .

I honestly should have written this review a long time ago, but better late than never!

If you're contemplating going to Fitt U for working out, just do it:
1. Sean is not only a knowledgable, talented, motivating trainer, but he's also an amazing person. He truly cares about each individual client's goals and tailors every workout in order to help you achieve them. He always asks about injuries and soreness to take into account as well.

So I'm six weeks into training with Niki and couldn't be more satisfied. She developed a personalized training plan to meet my goals of weight lose and upper body muscle tone/strength. I've lost 1 1/2 inches from my waist- hooray. The first boot camp was incredible, a great mix of strength training coupled with cardio.

I recently moved and was searching for a new place to start working out. I decided to scheduled an initial assessment with Dr. Sean a few months ago. Upon meeting him, he was professional, knowledgeable and made the assessment very fun and exciting. I liked learning about the different techniques and how it applies to me and my body. I have a history of knee injuries and neck pain, which Dr. Sean was able to understand these injuries and even explained ways to help me with the pain while still getting a good workout. Okay so I've been too MANY places like this in the past, but none quite gave me the same sense of fulfillment as Fitt University. These people know what they're doing, and chances are they'll leave you VERY motivated to achieve all of the fitness goals you've ever had (or at least to get started on them, then work your way up). I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Sean, who seemed very knowledgeable off the bat, and made me feel totally at ease the whole time.

Many years ago, I had a back injury that required surgery for a herniated disc, leaving me with intermittent low back pain and sciatica. About a year and a half ago the pain became constant due to another injury. I decided that I needed to try something different, that something needed to change. After about 8 months of traditional physical therapy, acupuncture, rolfing and chiropractic, there was little improvement. Needless to say, I was very discouraged, and none of the professionals I was working with were encouraging to me...until I met Sean!

I'll just start with Sean is my Hero! He believed in me when no one else did (including me). I started working with him almost a year and a half ago. Training with Sean has been the BEST thing I have done for myself and my health. In the past I had hurt myself so many times trying to exercise I was too afraid to work out on my own but I had to get the over 50 lbs off I had gained back! I've done many types of workouts (CrossFit, yoga, 24hr), but training with Sean has been the most successful for me. I started training with Sean about a year ago and I have been consistently seeing him 3 days a week. My first consult with him was so informative and he tailored my workouts to strengthen areas of my body that I strain and work most everyday as a dental hygienist. I have been training with Sean now for 5 months. It's a refreshing transition to move to a new gym environment that allows me to workout more to my potentials. This new location is amazing and convenient. I am so motivated to workout at this gym and the staff are very friendly and answered my questions. Sean is an amazing trainer and very professional. He learns to understand the areas I struggle with and my concerns and he works with it, not against it. Furthermore, this place is small but simple enough to get in a good workout and I personally prefer a small gym compared to a bigger gym

I have worked with several personal trainers and Dr. Sean Hickey is absolutely the best. He creates personalized and challenging workouts that push me appropriately forward to achieve my highest levels of health and fitness. Sean work arounds injuries to insure you keep making progress with no aggravation to the injury. Sean is professional and the studio is top of the line with brand new equipment.
