My mother brought home a raspberry tart... and OH. MY. GOD (cue janice's voice from friends). Between her, my husband and myself - the tart didn't make it to the next day. It was just THAT DARN GOOD. We are thinking of going out for a drive just to buy another one and we live all the way in Fairfax VA. Can't wait to taste another one! Keep up the great quality flavor!

Praline’s ranks as one of the top bakeries in the metro area. Their pastries are so delicious, I have to force myself not to get them too often to avoid weight gain. The pistachio chocolate croissants are the best.
Great quiche & sandwiches at the bakery & in their restaurant upstairs. So lucky to live near Pralines!

Just witnessed a fight there between and two employees and a guest, employees were been very, extremely rude to guest while families with small children like myself were there waiting in line to get service, they were using profanity towards the guest, telling the guest to get the F$&k out of there and that they didn’t care if management knew about… it. No Manager or supervisor around at all to control what was going on at this Wharf location, my kids are now traumatized and never want to ho back to that place, they really ruined what otherwise would have been a great night at

Absolutely expensively rudely awful. Food and service was terrible - even took our order incorrectly. And when we requested a sandwich be cut in half, 3 people, including a manager, descended from upstairs and refused to cut it because it's not a full service restaurant and if they did it for us "they'd have to do it for everyone" ... even though no one else was there. The sandwich was so stale, a plastic knife wouldn't cut it. All in all, a waste.

I'm sorry. I know I'm supposed to love this place, but they always run out of pastries before the end of the day, their coffee is terrible, and the staff tend to be sweet but unexperienced and a bit disorganized. All their baked goods are a bit too sweet, almost veering into grocery store sweet territory. For me though, the deal breaker is the idea of a bakery that doesn't open til 9am. Bakeries...early mornings...it's a thing, right? The decor is also dated in a jarring and not charming way and the interior
is grimy. A deep clean and coat of paint would go a long way. On the positive side, the

I had coffee at about 3 o’clock and the coffee was fine. What was not fine was the lack of soap in the bathroom, which means that the workers in the kitchen can’t wash their hands with soap and water either. I won’t go back for that reason. The soap dispenser was drained dry. Who knows how long it’s been that way. Inexcusable, especially during a pandemic.

This used to be one of my faves. After my last 2 visits, I will stop going there. The selection and quality have declined dramatically. So has the service. It also needs to be painted. It looks worn and actually sort of dirty. The chef salad was very expensive and the portion was very small, more like a side salad. The vegetable soup was very watery without much flavor. My friend got a cappuccino which tasted awful and was just lukewarm. Right after it was made.

I have been to this restaurant three times now. The first two times, I sat outdoors on the patio. The ambiance of the patio is lovely. The first two times, the food was ok. I enjoyed the mussels and crab louie salad dishes the best. The french onion was nothing to write home about, which is unfortunate because that is my favorite. I was just happy to get out of the house in a safe environment during covid.

It is my most recent experience that compels me to write a review. I wanted to celebrate my husband's recent professional accomplishment by surprising him with his favorite sandwich

Have gone here for years. High quality but high prices. Today after buying a very expensive and small croissant I asked for a cup of tap water. "We don't do that here" was the response from staff that were not busy doing anything. I've never encountered a place that wouldn't give me water.

I only ordered pastries and they were tasty but too small for the price. Also, the cashier was kind of rude to us. He got annoyed because we said “we’re gonna take a look first” when he asked how can he help us.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! This place, the food and the staff are incredible.
Some friends and I hosted a bridal shower here and everything was better than I could imagine. The patio is beautiful. The management is so flexible and kind. The chef outdid himself. Staff are amazing. I felt so welcome. I would not hesitate to come again.

A ten dollar chicken salad sandwich. I asked for it to be cut in half. No we can't do that. Replied the unfriendly staff. Seriously?? The bread is hard enough to break your teeth and the chicken salad had no flavor.

They have two floors and a spacious terrace upstairs. They are known for their homemade pastries, have delicious fish with different special every week according to availability
We ate on the terrace and it was very lightly raining part of the time, bit each table had a wide umbrella. I got photos of a rainbow 🌈. There were also colorful plants

The restaurant gets a 2, the bakery gets a 4.

Dining outside at this restaurant yesterday was lovely due to the warm weather & pleasant vibe. Unfortunately, my Niçoise salad was the definition of bland & my French fries were only slightly better.

Items that I bought at the bakery downstairs & took home were much better. I liked the cinnamon roll as well as the raspberry twist. The brownie was fine & the chocolate mousse cup was delicious.

This is a detailed review of the bistro and the bakery. We tried to get a fair representation by buying a variety of items from both places. At the bistro, my wife and I were seated outside on the roof terrace. It was spacious with a casual upscale atmosphere. We ordered split pea with ham soup (soup du jour), onion soup gratinée, crab cake sandwich, chicken pot pie, crème brûlée and coffee. The split pea with ham soup was delicious. I don't normally like split pea with ham soup, so this is saying something. The peas were pureed which made the soup broth very smooth. The taste was balanced

The ham and cheese croissant is pictured in my post. The chocolate mousse was okay, and the chocolate cookie contained apricot. The tea latte was tea with milk.

Great place! My only (slight) complaint, which isn't exactly a bad thing, is that they sometimes have been sold out of a few baked goods I was hoping to buy, including their apricot pastry. But that is mostly just an indication of how popular the place is and how loyal many customers are. I have always been able to find something else in those situations, like a croissant or cookie. The staff are very good, and the quality of the coffee has also always been quite high. Great bread as well. Highly recommend.

I like the bakery very much, and have ordered nice birthday cakes here. The display is always beautiful and exciting.

The bistro, on the other hand....I give up. I've eaten here several times, and leave either extremely or somewhat upset--or sick, on this last occasion. Granted, I was having a stressful day, so that probably did not help....the most I can say about the food was that it was lackluster and only okay (the others at the table seemed to enjoy their dishes, to be fair). The best part of the (latest) meal was our server, who was friendly and gracious. In the past (a few years ago

I stumbled across this establishment when hubby took me for my COVID-19 test (negative...thank God!) and I needed a pick me up after a rough couple of days. I had no idea what a praline is but the storefront was so cute and I saw that they sold other desserts so we decided to treat ourselves! I had no idea a praline had nuts...I am allergic and they were out BUT they had Parisian macrons of all sorts! They have a special display case for them. I lost my mind and I think I ordered 2-3 of each type. As I paid for my order, I saw that they had brioche beignets filled with chocolate! I added 2 of those

This is a bit overdue but important. We held my now daughter in law’s shower here a few months ago. The event was fabulous. The events manager helped put together a great menu for a traditional ladies lunch, and the food was delicious. The service was excellent. I’ve been going there since they opened and have never been disappointed.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great breakfasts, brunches and pastries in a charming ambience.

Upon the recommendation of relatives the hubby and I tried this place during our visit to the area. It was a short walk from where we were staying so we ended up visiting twice: brunch one day and breakfast another day. The restaurant has a bakery on the first floor with some small tables but the regular dining room/patio is upstairs. As far as I could tell I didn't see any elevators so I'm not sure how people with mobility issues make it up there. The decor is French country-cute, but not too precious.

Praline is a very nice neighborhood bakery/bistro. The bakery has wonderful pastries and the restaurant has reliably good food.

On a recent visit I had the smoked salmon appetizer which was absolutely delicious and I love the presentation and the lemon chive spread that comes on the side. The toast is perfectly done - crisp on the outside but still soft. Definitely the standout and my husband, who didn't enjoy his Poulet Grand'mere, happily took care of the leftovers. He found the white wine sauce that his chicken was cooked with to be salty and bland. I agreed. Unfortunately a disappointing

I used to love Praline’s croissants and other baked goods, but in the last couple of years my disappointment has only grown. Not only the quality has declined but prices have increased to outrageous levels. Over $3 for a plain croissant would be justified only if it was outstanding…which it is not. I usually never write reviews about anything, but this morning I was shocked to pay over $10 for a mediocre coffee and a chocolate croissant that was greasy and chewy. Very sad and sorry to see that my favorite bakery is no longer….
