Milltown Family Physicians
Milltown Family Physicians (MFP) is a primary care office with longstanding roots in the community that offers a progressive healthcare home. Milltown Family Physicians was formed in 1980, when Dr. John Miller began a solo practice in Wooster. In 1991, shortly after the current Milltown Professional Building was completed, Dr. Amy Jolliff joined his practice.

In the 1990's an addition to the professional building was completed and is the current location of the practice. Three new physicians joined, including Dr. Christopher B. Ranney and Dr. Eric A. Smith in 2007 and Dr. Paul R. Nielsen in 2010, bringing the practice to a five-physician group. Dr. John Schinner joined the practice in 2017, while Dr. Miller officially retired in 2019.
Services
Patients are requested to apply to become part of our practice (New Patient Intake). Once accepted, we require all completed paperwork (Accepted New Patient) to be brought to the appointment or dropped off in advance of the visit. This ensures the highest quality care and helps develop the patient-doctor relationship that we value.
Athleticare is a sports medicine clinic with a focus specifically on athletes and active people of all ages and skill levels. Keeping athletes in optimal health and performance is what Athleticare is all about. What makes Athleticare different is that athletes are evaluated from a primary care, not a surgical perspective.
ImPACT is a sophisticated, research-based computer test developed to help your doctor evaluate your recovery following a concussion. ImPACT is a user-friendly 20- minute test that has been scientifically validated to measure the effects of sports related concussion. ImPACT can help answer difficult questions about your readiness to return to play, protecting you from the potentially serious consequences of returning too soon.
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our practice, an organization you have entrusted to share in what we hope is a long and healthy relationship! Dr. Schinner and Dr. Prokop are accepting patients on a regular basis. Please download the New Patient Intake document and submit it to our office.
Milltown Family Physicians participates in most insurance companies including Standard Ohio Medicaid and Caresource. Please contact your insurance carrier for provider participation, plan benefit information, out of pocket expenses and non-covered services. We accept cash, check, Visa and Mastercard.

I've seen great reviews on Dr. Miller although I wouldn't know for myself. Everytime I've been in contact with this place they are very rude and unprofessional.

Doctor Schinner is an EXCELLENT Doctor! I have been seeing him for almost a year now. He is very kind, caring, and concerned about his patients. The front staff is courteous and friendly. Wendy, Doctor Schinner's nurse is so sweet. I would recommend him to anybody who is looking for a doctor that actually cares about his patients.

Do not use these doctors if at all possible. The receptionist was so rude she just now hung up on me when I told her I did not have insurance (even though we want to pay out of pocket). So nasty and rude, please don't give these jerks your business.

I saw Dr. Miller there as a follow up hospital visit, and was pleased with the staff & facility. Not sure if they're going through a transitional phase with the desk staffing, but I tried to make an appt. as a new patient for 2 weeks. I just kept getting told I'd get called back, & still never have recieved one. Good thing Comprehensive Internal Medicine beside them got me in and discovered the severity of my health issues & got me medicine & helped me find specialists for follow ups right away. I wouldn't be so displeased until I discovered how serious my issue really was/is.

My experience since January has been very favorable. The facility is always clean and orderly. The staff has been courteous, cheerful, and helpful. They are well trained in their respective positions. The appointments are usually on time. Dr. Smith is congenial, concerned, honest, and very capable.

If you can help it don't go there, do not use Dr Nielson at all. Worst doctor I HAVE ever seen. I had diabetes and didn't realize it, Dr Nielson DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO READ LAB RESULTS CORRECTLY. I told him, several times I do not feel well. They kept telling me every thing was normal. I went there to see him for an 11:30 am appointment, sat for over half an hour, asked receptionist what was going on, was told at 12:15 pm he couldn't see me until 1:30 pm could I come back, I said no I can't. He refused to see me until 1:30 pm. I told receptionist I will never come back again. I found another doctor

Decent physician and nursing staff. They can usually squeeze you in if you have an acute condition. Been going there for years.
