My Mother is scheduled to leave Carillon next week and I just wanted to let you know how much my family and I appreciated the quality care my Mother has been receiving. Simply outstanding. We have been very impressed by everyone from the nursing staff, to the PT staff, to the event staff, to the aides, to the cleaning and maintenance staff, to the admin staff, to any other staff I may have left out.

My grandfather spent his last days here. He had always worn his Ruby Hugh School class ring, every day of his life, and NEVER took it off. When we went to see his body, the ring was GONE, and the staff all claimed to know nothing about it. It was deeply upsetting. Beware: thieves and liars work here.

I cannot even get a call back from "RORY" in their business office let alone review the facility! Here is my experience so far....
I spoke with EVE in admissions over a week ago to learn how to move my mother from out of state facility to LI. Eve was very helpful and responsive. My important question was to know if Carillon accepted Medicaid in full for her stay and some guidance in transferring out of state benefits to NYS. Since there are a iot of steps involved I wanted to make sure I did it correctly and according to the Carillon switchboard, RORY was the only person in their business office

Not only is Carillon currently taking good care of my Aunt, but they even remember my past family members who were patients there. A nurse recently asked if one of my visiting Aunts was related to my mother who passed away. She used my mother’s name. What’s amazing is my mother died 13 years ago, and she was remembered by name and the family resemblance and past visitors recognized! This is why we revere Carillon.

Immediately upon arriving to visit a relative in their care, first impressions were great. Facility had organization, dedicated staff, seriousness about cleanliness, and I particularly liked the “you shouldn’t be visiting if your sick and can spread germs” type of sign I recall seeing in the reception area, along with the request to sanitize my hands after checking in, and before proceeding on to visit. Wished my own mother would have chosen this Carillon care center, over the disappointment that was the nursing and rehab center she used (not a Carillon).

I must say that I only chose this place bc it was close to home. This is my father’s 3rd rehab on LI and so far it is the best. The staff was welcoming and thorough when he first got here. They’ve given him a lot of attention and are very good at communicating. I’ve had to call often and they always take the time to talk to me. I feel like they treat my father the way they would treat their own father.
