Long Island Interventions
The whole Greater New York area including Long Island, Queens, and Staten Island is in the middle of a drug and alcohol addiction epidemic. People of every age, gender, religion, and socioeconomic background are caught in the crossfire of addiction. We've created Long Island Interventions to provide an opportunity for those struggling with substance abuse to find addiction treatment on Long Island and out-of-state.

We believe in drug rehabs on Long Island that are solution-focused and evidence-based and our recovery advocates have decades of combined experience. Many people who develop a substance use disorder find it very difficult to stop using without professional help. If you have decided to seek treatment for yourself or a loved one, you'll need to decide on the type of treatment that's right for you.

A drug or alcohol intervention is a process by which the addict/alcoholic is encouraged to seek substance abuse treatment. It is directed professionally by a certified interventionist whose goal is to have the individual admit that he/she has a substance abuse problem and agree to receive help. It's an educational process, usually conducted face-to-face, that involves family members of the addicted individual.
A drug and alcohol detox involves removing the substance from your body so that you can move on to the next phase of treatment without the buildup of toxins that precipitate withdrawal symptoms. A physical dependence on a substance of choice occurs when an individual has an increased tolerance, and they will experience painful withdrawal symptoms should they stop taking the substance abruptly.
The substance that is perfectly legal, socially acceptable, encouraged to consume constantly over and over. Could this substance be dangerous, lethal, and deadly? We're talking about alcohol and the psychotic effect that alcohol has on its' abusers. Alcoholism is chronic, progressive, and fatal if left untreated, regardless of your age, gender, race, or socioeconomic status.
Benzodiazepines are a family of psychoactive drugs known for their useful purpose in a variety of conditions including anxiety, insomnia, seizures, muscle spasms, and agitation. They are generally safe and effective for short-term use, but addicts abuse benzodiazepines in large doses which can cause euphoria for the user and physical dependence.

When I called Long Island Interventions I was feeling hopeless & broken. I knew my son needed help but I had no idea how to start the process. I left my information with L.I.I. & Chris reached out soon after. He explained the intervention process step by step from participant preparation all the way through to transportation to the facility provided by L.I.I. This discussion relieved so much stress & anticipation as did many conversations that I had with Chris. My son agreed to go to treatment voluntarily so there was no longer a need for the intervention. Chris helped us find rehab in Florida

I recently contacted Chris to get help for a loved one. There was a small window of opportunity in which they were amenable to receiving the help they've desperately needed for years, and I would never have had the capacity to figure out the process on my own in that moment. Luckily for us, Chris turned out to be the perfect person to contact. He responded to me on a Saturday night within minutes of messaging him, and we were texting back and forth as late as 10:30/11pm get my family member admitted to a detox center the very next day. Chris showed empathy and understanding, while also being direct

Thank you to Long Island Interventions and Chris for all of their assistance and guidance in helping us get a family member the help they needed during a very trying time. Chris was a strong leader to help guide our family through the entire process. This was an extremely emotional process but he navigated us through the lead-up and day of intervention with calmness , understanding and a clear path for steps that needed to be taken.

Thank you to Long Island Intervention for your guidance in obtaining treatment for a family member. Chris explained the intervention process and answered questions and concerns honestly. He is non-judgmental and his calming presence put people at ease. His tone and words helped persuade our family member to seek treatment; which we are very grateful for. He kept the family informed when they arrived at the treatment center and has reached out to offer guidance and support.

I felt helpless and frightened watching my love one struggle with addiction. If you are in this situation I highly recommend you contact Chris at Long Island Interventions. He helped guide our family through the process and we had a successful intervention for our loved one. He has been available to answer questions throughout the process. I can say with certainty that if attempting this on our own, we would have not achieved this same result. Thank you Chris!

Chris was absolutely wonderful to work with. He made the process a little easier by answering any questions i had, he responded quickly when I texted him or called him. He truly listened to all my concerns and was compassionate. We wouldn’t of been able to do the intervention without him guiding us through every little step. I am truly grateful that he was there helping us help our loved one.
