TOR Chimney & Fireplace is a family run business providing services in Bucks and Montgomery counties in PA, and Mercer and Hunterdon counties in NJ for over 16 years. We specialize in chimney construction, stonework, and chimney repairs. We also offer sales and installations of wood or gas inserts and fireplaces. TOR Chimney holds all necessary certifications to properly inspect, clean, and certify your chimney and venting system ensuring safe and efficient operation for the entire season.
Services
The chimney is blocked or needs to be cleaned. Sometimes the cap gets clogged and will not allow the exhaust to exit, which will back up into the house. When starting your stove, the wood is not seasoned and dry. Trying to light a fire with wet wood will not allow the stack temperature to get hot enough to establish a draft, allowing the smoke to spill back into the house.
The NFPA recommends cleaning and inspection annually, Tor Chimney & Fireplace utilizes the latest technology in the industry to perform a thorough and professional service. Every truck is equipped with a Chim-Scan video inspection system that is used with every service call. The video inspection system ensures the integrity of the fireplace and chimney for continued use.
Having an extensive background in building masonry fireplaces makes it easy for us to troubleshoot ongoing water issues and recognize potential hazards affiliated with fireplace construction. Water intrusion and construction defects are usually the issues that exponentially deteriorate a chimney when not addressed in a timely fashion.
Before your stove or fireplace installation, Tor Chimney site checks every job and makes certain the job can be completed safely and to local building code. The manufacturer spends the time and the money to have every unit tested in a lab under normal household conditions. So it is important to maintain clearances to combustibles and create proper vent configurations.
Many issues are repairable with routine maintenance. For our standard gas service calls we will clean your pilot assembly and burner tray, install new embers, run a gas leak detector test, and diagnose any problems that you may be having with the unit. Replacement parts will be ordered and a return trip scheduled if need be.

Tor helped upgrade our inefficient and messy wood fireplace to a gas fired work of art. They quoted a fair price and stuck to it with no up charges. Not only was the job done incredibly well, but encountered some real problems (the builder hasn't constructed my chimney safely). They fixed everything and left us with the centerpiece of our living space.

Was referred to Tor by a neighbor for a chimney repair quote as well as converted the fireplace to gas... it took me and my husband 2 MONTHS of excessive phone calls to get the quote back!! Then once we did, it didn't include the conversation of fireplace. This was also after he charged us $250 for a chimney sweep during the appointment (was not expecting this)-- and if we used him then that money would go towards the work he did... Needless to say, we did not use him!

I can't say enough good things about Jon. His work speaks for itself! He did an amazing job removing our old half-wall brick fireplace and built this new fabulous stone one as well as the mantle! He is truly a Renaissance Man. He explained everything he would do and followed up with his estimates. He was extremely knowledgeable, meticulous and easy to work with. He also provided sample materials for us to review and made useful suggestions.
