At Newton Health Care Center, we understand that choosing a skilled nursing facility can be difficult and overwhelming for families, even if it is only for a short term stay. The role of our Admissions Department is to assist families who need to find immediate placement for a loved one.
Often, a Discharge Planner or Social Worker at a hospital informs a patient's primary contact of the need for short term rehabilitation or long term care placement.Once this decision has been determined, families must quickly choose a facility. We encourage families to tour and meet with our Admissions staff so they can see the facility first-hand and ask any questions they may have regarding this process.

Please periodically review the contents of the Resident's closet to be sure the Resident has all of their clothing needs met. Adaptive clothing may be requested for the comfort of your Resident. Is my Resident allowed to smoke? Newton Health Care Center is a tobacco-free environment. Is my Resident allowed to bring valuables (money, jewelry, etc.) to the facility?

My father-in-law was there for rehab after having back surgery. He had to call 911 himself because no nurse or aide answered his light. He waited 30 minutes before he called 911. I don't know if the staff are just incompetent or whats going on but we know that it is NOT a safe place for your loved ones.

The care that the staff are giving to our Mother at the Newton Health Care Center is second to none. Thank you Justina, Chris (and Charlie), Dee, and all the others who have helped make our Mother's transition to NHCC as positive as possible. Because of you, she's doing better and is smiling more.
