Villa Nueva Bakery Cafe
Villa Nueva Bakery in Coronado is known for much more than generously sized pastries and confections. Our food is served with the same commitment to quality the restaurant has maintained for over 100 years! Villa Nueva Bakery has been operating since 1911 in the historic landmark Anderson Building along Orange Avenue, Coronado's main street.

Our casual dining atmosphere reflects the carefree setting of this timeless seaside town. Order at the counter, then sit at one of our sidewalk tables where our friendly staff will deliver your food. Try our signature menu items like the Breakfast Croissant, Eggs Benedict, Florentine or California Omelets.
Services
Villa Nueva Bakery is a family owned and operated business. When you're here, we want you to feel at home whether you're a visitor or a resident of Coronado. Our restaurant has a long history dating back to 1911 when the Anderson family first opened the bakery on Orange Ave.

We are located in a building that has been designated a historical landmark, and a plaque noting this distinction is located on the brick wall on the left as you enter the patio area.Though our name has changed over time, our chef has been with us and maintained the consistency of our food for 20 years.
Our Holiday Boxes are here! Villa Nueva Bakery and Cafe now offers deliciously curated holiday boxes and bags for your gift-giving needs this season. Each item contains a selection of pastries and muffins, a holiday candle and small dessert plates. Orders can be placed by phone 619-435-1256, or in person at our restaurant, 956 Orange Avenue, Coronado, CA 92118.
Sliced chicken breast, jack cheese, avocado, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, and shredded carrots on a warm pita bread. Scrambled egg whites, onion, spinach, olives, and feta cheese wrapped in a wheat tortilla. Served with bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and jack cheese accompanied with French fries. We found our new favorite Cafe! This cute and quaint bakery has the sweetest staff & baked goods.

I enjoyed their breakfast croissant sandwich. The portion was huge. I didn't finish it all, but every bite was delicious. Loved how soft the eggs were and fluffy & fresh the croissant was!

My fiancé got the chorizo burrito with a side of beans. Those beans are to die for.

Only issue here is parking. There's street parking, but can get busy (especially on the weekends)!

This restaurant was awful, start to finish. DO NOT order any coffee other than black...they do NOT know how!
The potatoes were cold and the service was inept, do yourself a favor and keep walking by.🙈

It was good. Two sandwiches and sodas with tip was $48. Pricey.
Food was good quality, lacked a little flavoring.
We were asked if we wanted chips or fruit. We replied chips. When our sandwiches came out, the waiter asked if we needed anything else. Chips? Oh you haven't got those. Who knew, you grab them when you order.

They are always busy, so going in a rush is not recommended. The portions are very generous- delicious omelettes!

I am so disappointed in Villa Nueva Bakery. I have been going there for years (I am a local and live on the island). This past weekend, my husband, two year old, newborn and I went out to breakfast, and among other things (totaling $60+ as I got muffins to go) I ordered a breakfast croissant sandwich. I told the cashier I'd like eggs, cheese, avocado and tomato. She repeated back to me. When it came out, there was ham on it - and I'm vegetarian. When I asked for a new sandwich, I was told ham comes automatically and since I didn't specify that I didn't want it (even though I specified what I DID

We were looking for a place to eat that wasn't your typical food chain. We were immediately greeted by a friendly cashier. You place your order inside, then choose seating. We chose outside to enjoy cooler temps than AZ! We ordered apple juice, a breakfast croissant with potatoes and chilaquiles. Man was it good! The service was great, and the place is quaint and clean! It's walking distance to Coronado beach as well.

We've been visiting the San Diego area for 5 days. My lunch sandwich was the best, most fairly priced and absolutely filling of all my meals so far. Highly recommend this establishment

Pastries have good flavor but the two times I've been there everything tasted like it was day old. Didn't try the prepared dishes or coffee.

The best Denver omellette that I have had in years. Why others cannot cook the contents INTO the egg I don't understand. A bit more warmth from the help would help and it appears they have no public WC?

Love this place! My husband and I have been coming here for years. Only gave 4 stars because lately the cranberry Orange muffins are lacking (again) enough cranberries. If you don't have enough cranberries in stock then maybe just stop making so many cranberry Orange muffins and I will order the carrot instead which is my second favorite muffin.

Love this little neighborhood cafe. The breakfast croissant was amazing and the orange blossom pancakes were to die for. How do they infuse the orange taste in the whole pancake?? Staff was friendly and enjoyed talking to them. I will definitely come here again.

Ordered the tortilla soup and got nothing more than a cup of boullion with lots of celery and some carrots with faint pieces of scrap chicken near the bottom.
No taste other than the Bouillon cube it was made from.
Worst cup of soup Ever.

Called in a quick breakfast order to go after a run on Sunday morning. Was told wait time would be 10-15 minutes got there within 10 and my food was ready. Service was good, but as I was just paying and taking my food to go I did not get the full experience.

On to the food, portions are HUGE! This plate fed two people the country potatoes were AMAZING. I have a thing for potatoes and if they aren't good it's ruins my meal lol but I was very impressed with these. The croissant was warm and flaky. The ingredients they use seemed to be very good quality. (I believe this plate was about

My friend and I had a great breakfast here to start our day trip to San Diego. I left happy and full.

We arrived early to a fairly long line to order. The wait wasn't too long to place our orders. It gave us time to check out menus provided near the register and the case of muffins and other goodies. After ordering we grabbed a table in the sunshine and our food arrived very soon after.

The Cranberry Orange Muffin was delicious. So good that I couldn't help myself from eating my half of it. Yes, half. All of their muffins are giant so I'd suggest sharing unless this is your whole
