Erin Joosse and Melissa Paz have been lifelong friends that met in college, each pursuing a degree in Dance at the University of New Mexico. They both found their way to the Pacific Northwest in the early 2000's and began teaching yoga. After 10 wonderful years of collaboration, the two decided to complete their business partnership, and in 2015, Erin became the sole owner of Source Yoga.
At Source Yoga, we offer a variety of classes for the many different needs of our students, from gentle to more active. If you're brand new to yoga we encourage you to register for our Intro to Yoga Series. These 6-week programs are designed to teach the fundamentals of yoga postures, breathing and mindfulness for students who are brand-new to yoga.
This 6-week program is designed to teach the fundamentals of yoga postures, breathing and mindfulness for students who are brand-new to yoga. It is also appropriate for those that haven't practiced for a while or want a detailed and slow-paced refresher. Our Intro to Yoga Series is currently led online as a once weekly class for 6 weeks.
Source Yoga has been offering classes for families since our opening in 2005, and has become the premier family yoga studio in the south sound with exceptional classes and events for parents, babies, kids, and whole families. We aim to make a difference in the lives of the many vibrant families in our community.
Our Prenatal classes provide a space to practice yoga for all who are pregnant. This class offers gentle variations on traditional yoga postures that honor the physical and emotional journey of pregnancy. We invite you to begin as soon as you like! Many students begin at the end of the first trimester or the beginning of the second.

I love this intimate yoga space and the great teachers. Highly recommend checking it out. They have a 3 class pass for $25 which is a wonderful way to give them a try.

Great experience here. The instructors are friendly and willing to work with you at your own comfort level. They are flexible and will frequently ask for requests or suggestions for the class, if you have a certain area you want to work, or goal for the day. They have classes in different styles (from relaxing to challenging, beginner to advanced). The environment is calming and spartan, and the studio is very clean. You can sign up for a membership, or a great 10-class package for those who can't go often enough to make a monthly membership worth it.

I have been making this my home away from home lately. Each visit leaves me feeling warm and refreshed. So great for my mind and body. I have a membership now and go to both this studio and the one in University Place. I'm still getting to know many of the wonderful instructors but a few of my favorites are Kelly, Christine, Melissa (her prenatal classes are amazing!!) and Vania.

Source Yoga was the first yoga studio in Tacoma 10 years ago, and it's an amazing place. The wonderful teachers make yoga accessible to all levels. No matter where you are, you leave having been challenged in your practice and refreshed as only a yoga class can make you.

LOVE this studio. Went to my first prenatal yoga class last night and it was incredible. It is a great place to meet other moms-to-be and to get your body feeling good. They have all the gear you need, the instructor was fantastic. It's clean, inviting, and I genuinely look forward to going there for the rest of my pregnancy and possibly for some baby-and-me classes after.

My wife was very excited to get started with yoga and saw that Source Yoga fit her schedule. She called three times to inquire about Source Yoga and there no returned calls. When we finally went over to Source Yoga so that my wife to could sign up, She did not want to use the online sign up; personal choice. Upon arriving at the door, she was greeted with "Please come back another time" and the door shut in her face by the person she contacted and the person locked the door. The previous was rude and unprofessional.

I've only taken three classes here, but I love this place. I had heard great things about them, and had looked on and off at them longingly on the internet from time to time, but could not manage to justify the expense. Low and behold, they came out with an Amazon Local deal and I decided to try them out.

Love them. Amazon Local deal seems to be a good way to go, because now I am figuring out how to work them into my budget, as that is obviously what I must do. So, realizing they don't make very much (if anything??) off the specials, it does seem to do the job of bringing in new

Went to Source on a friend's recommendation. It's in a teeny tiny strip mall sort of at the cusp of Tacoma/University Place. You can find parking for sure, but the spaces are kinda small. I thought the reception area was really neat, very organized, and the check in process was very easy and professional. The space definitely doesn't invite you to hang out though - there just isn't a ton of room.

The reception area, shoes/jackets area, bathroom, and studio were SPOTLESS. I am OCD and hate the feeling of getting gritty stuff on my feet and on my mat, and I gotta tell you, I

I have been going to Source Yoga for over 5 years and feel very lucky we have TWO such great studios in Tacoma and University Place. The owners are dedicated to creating a safe and community friendly place for students of all levels to practice and grow. The workshops and retreats are top notch, the teachers are ALL genuinely concerned about each and every student. Yoga has changed my body, my head and my heart...and each time I head out the door with my mat toward either Source Studio, I know I am on the right path.

Source Yoga became the source of community for me when I moved to Tacoma 5 years ago. Their great intro special allowed me to sample different classes and teachers and also meet more yogis. Over the years, I have been able to deepen and hone my yoga practice as well as my connections. All the teachers I have had teach well to all levels - you don't need to be a pretzel yogi to fit in!

Great workshops and retreats too!

It's a small but nice space, and people are very friendly. There's a real community feel to this studio. Like with all yoga studios, it's pretty expensive. And the intermediate yoga classes don't seem any different from the beginner and mixed level classes, which I found disappointing since I want to challenge myself to get into more advanced yoga. But it's great for beginners and they focus on pre and post-natal yoga, as well.

I love Source Yoga - definitely the best community studio around! All of the teachers are excellent and they offer a wide variety of regular classes. I was just recently pregnant and the prenatal class was great - to move my body, connect with myself and my baby, and meet other pregnant moms too! Now I get to take the mom & baby class which both me and my 3 month old enjoy :-)
