I'm so grateful for BJ's auto!
I was so stressed when my check engine light came on. But they set expectations immediately, fixed my issue and even made sure to test drive it twice before I picked up. Not only were they kind and so friendly but they gave me such peace of mind ! I'm so glad I found them!!

As a woman who admittedly knows very little about cars past the very basics, it can be hard to find a good auto shop. Well, I've finally found that place! Everyone at BJ's was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. I went in for an oil change, but I also asked them to check to see why my windshield wiper fluid wasn't spraying. They took the time to show me what was wrong and why it happened (cracked windshield wiper fluid pump because of a missing fog light cover).The owner, Joe, was so kind. He got the part the same day, and made sure to accommodate me coming back later with my schedule

When I met my husband he had been going to this mechanic for his whole life! I'm so glad I married him so I didn't have to find a new mechanic !!! They are all so amazing and nice there. It's a family place and they make you feel like family. They take pride in their work and are just genuine hard working honest people which is rare in a mechanic

I'm at a lost for words at the transparency and honesty of this business. Jimmy and his team are excellent at what they do. So much I trusted them with my toy. Not only did they install springs and aligned my car but the guys asked about the car and future plans... truly car cars who understand us car guys. The frosting on the cake, and I am still in shock as no one else has ever done something like this.... I brought my fiancé's Rav4 here for what I suspected was a water pump or tensioner pulley. They took a look at it right away, despite being pretty busy, and confirmed it was the water pump. They said they may not be able to work on it for a couple days. I agreed to leave it and got a call the next day that it was done. The price was right in line with what I had researched. They were honest, friendly, and knew their stuff. There's a charge for using a credit card, so I recommend bringing a check or cash. I would use them again.

Always engaging, honest and priced right, they stand behind their work. I've had two or three warranty repairs over the years with no questions asked -- they did the work and sent me home with a $0 bill.

Zero star: If you are a PERSON OF COLOR, don't waste your time and money. I asked Jim if he had discounts for the quote he gave me and he yelled at me and refused to fix my car (even after I offered to pay the full quote) saying his shop is not dollar general!
Now see how many reviews here say Jim is a RACIST and BULLIES customers! I should have known better! And if it's a matter of negotiating prices, there is a better way of communicating! Dollar tree wow Jim!

Not enough can be said about this place. I have been taking my car here for as long as I've been old enough to drive. My friends, family and neighbors would not take their cars anywhere else. Jim, Bill and the crew are always upfront and honest about what is going with your car and will even let you know when something is not even necessary!! There have been a couple of times when I have gone to a Jiffy Lube or the dealership in a pinch and quote me these outrageous prices and tasks that "are needed". As soon as I come back to my home auto shop, Jim cuts it down to the nitty gritty

I decided to wait to review until I had my car back for a while. I took my toyota camry to BJ'S due to issues with the AC. Though I had to get it basically replaced, I'm thoroughly satisfied. The last place (a different shop in River Grove) I took it to, apparently didn't do quality work or use quality parts. Lesson learned, I should have looked to see if any reviews mentioned AC repair for the other shop. I made sure I did it with BJ's and I found that the positive reviews of BJ's to be well founded.

I really like and Enjoy the people from BJ auto repair. As a woman I am always fearful of being taken advantage of not knowing specific car things. I found this auto repair shop and picked them based on reviews. I looked at 2 other places and received quotes and BJ auto repair is always cheaper and they are ridiculously sweet and thorough. I recommend them!!!

I have relied on Bj's Auto Repairs for over 20 years......during that time my family and friends have all brought their cars and absolutely LOVED the service and honesty that Jim and Bill and their staff provide! They work with you in what you NEED to have done, and tell you what you can wait on. Pretty much the best independent shop around. Whatever you need done they'll take care of it in a professional and timely manner. Jim and the crew are smart, honest and caring individuals and always make you feel right at home when you step through the door.
Not many genuine shops and people around anymore but this is one of them.

BEWARE! CAUTION! The owner Jim is a crook and has no integrity and bullies his customers. My car was towed her by my roadside assistance so he knew I had no place to go. I told him it was the battery and he still tried to charge me $60 for an inspection when all he did was test the dead battery. He then charged me a fee of $68 to "retrain my battery to my computer". THIS IS MADE UP AND FRAUD! The reason I know is because he installed a USED BATTERY that he charged me $290 for and it failed 2 weeks later!!! When I went to Merlin's to get it replaced, they told me it was only
