Manual therapy is a hands-on treatment by clinicians to treat muscle aches, joint pain, and limited range of motion. It encompasses a variety of techniques including soft tissue mobilization of muscles, specific joint mobilization, and joint manipulation. Mobilization is a slower, more controlled process of articular and soft-tissue stretching intended to improve joint mobility.
Cupping is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practice that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This practice dates back over 2,000 years but has received recent attention due to its use by world-class athletes for injury relief. In a peer-reviewed study1, researchers concluded that cupping could be effective in treating the pain and disability associated with chronic neck pain and chronic low-back pain in the short term.
Kinesio Tape is a latex-free, elastic porous cotton strip with an acrylic adhesive used for treating athletic injuries and a variety of other physical disorders. Kinesio Tape stretches up to 140% of its original length, which allows much greater range of motion, compared to traditional white athletic tape.
Laser Therapy is clinically proven as an effective treatment for pain and inflammation. Able to penetrate to deep tissue structures, it has the ability to treat a wide variety of both acute and chronic conditions. The non-invasive nature of Deep Tissue Laser Therapy provides a solution for those who are looking for alternatives to prescription drugs and surgery.
The primary goal of physical therapy is usually to recover strength, flexibility, and function. In most cases, therapeutic exercise is an important component of the rehabilitation process. Therapeutic exercises involve body movements that facilitate recovery from limitations often associated with nerve, muscle, and/or joint problems.

Two different orthopedic MD's told me i needed shoulder replacement in both shoulders. You do them separately with a 9 month recovery. I am 70 and I did not want to take 18 months to go thru this. I did an internet search and found that Fred Kim with Lakeside was going to do a zoom meeting regarding a nonsurgical solution for shoulder issues. I signed up and watched the zoom call and then scheduled 3 appointments. I had less than 35% range of motion in both shoulders. By the 3rd session i had 100% range of motion in both shoulders without pain. All 3 appointments were in July of 2020. It's now

Fred was great! I've had lower back problems since I was young. When I got into a car accident, it got worse. He helped me become aware of what was happening to me and got me to a place where I can control it. Great bedside manner, funny, and calm. He explains why we are doing certain exercises and how I could replicate it at home. The therapy assistants were wonderful as well! Great staff and service.

I went to Lakeside PT to continue therapy after shoulder surgery. Even though it was only to fill in a few sessions while I was away from my regular therapist, Fred Kim put a lot of thought into my treatment and really helped me progress. I also appreciated that it was easy to get appointments and there were no problems with billing my insurance.

Fred and his team have been with me for two hip replacements. Fred & his team knew from day one what my strength needs were as well as what my hip range-of-motion precautions were. Fred designed a rehab plan that rebuilt the strength in my muscles which in turn increased my confidence that I would get back to my regular physical routine. I am stoked to get back into the water to surf again with my mates; thx Fred and Team!

I was referred to Dr. Kim for a knee issue. He has done a tremendous job not only healing it, but helping build up the strength it used to have. He was very informative and always made sure I understood what he was doing and why he was doing it. I have been to a ton of physical therapy places but this by far has been the best experience. He did an amazing job and I would recommend him to anyone.

My ankle had a compound fracture two and a half months ago and before I could start walking I went into to Lakeside for my therapy. The work Fred did was amazing. My legs started to get back to their former strength and my hurt ankle is already almost as flexible as my healthy one and I still have weeks of therapy to go. I have met other people who have had compound ankle fractures and they have not been so lucky. Fred is an amazing physical therapist.
