Whitecliff Vineyard
At Whitecliff we've dedicated more than 30 years to finding and planting grape varieties that succeed on our site. We're dedicated to sustainability, environmentalism, and producing vegan wines we're proud of. Whitecliff is an artisanal family run winery created from the ground up by owners and founders, Michael Migliore and Yancey Stanforth-Migliore.

Michael has lived on the property since 1975, when he was studying for a master's degree in organic chemistry at SUNY, New Paltz. In 1978 he started work at IBM as a chemical engineer in semiconductor manufacturing, and soon after began experimenting with grape growing as a natural expression of his background and his skills in chemistry.

What a great Winery!!!! Wonderful wines and great views of the "Gunks" !!! My friend and I went for a tasting today and were lucky enough to have Rhea all to ourselves!!!! What a gem she is! Ended up joining the Wine Club and couldn't be happier. Just another reason to boast and say " I Live in and Love the Hudson Valley "!

This is a great winery owned and run by a lovely family with excellent taste in wine. I have been going for the last few years and have always had a great experience. It is by far my favorite wine ever. Not only is their selection very diverse, but they are always trying new varieties so it's worth going back over and over again. As others have said, the view is stunning and worth the trip all on its own. I have often arrived without reservations and they have always managed to accommodate me for a tasting (granted my group has never been bigger than 4). When it comes to COVID protocols, I must

Favorite Hudson Valley Winery. I drive an hour to visit at least once a season. On warmer days especially I like to buy a bottle or glass to sit outside enjoying the view of the mountain and vineyard. I would highly recommend becoming a wine club member. They have an array of wines- whites, reds, sweet l, dry, and semi-dry. I prefer the dry reds, they do not disappoint. The winery is family owned. They use sustainable practices on their vineyards which I truly appreciate.

I'm adding to the list of poor reviews that call out the terrible customer service and group planning services at the winery. It's a shame because we like the winery but we're not going back, ever.

We started communicating with Tristan a few weeks ago, making it clear that we wanted to reserve the cellar for an event on a very specific date. After inconsistent communications (he didn't call when he said he would, slow to reply to emails) and a very dismissive and arrogant attitude (saying things like "well, my family does own the winery") we received an email stating

A huge waste of time. I reserved a tasting more than a week prior to visiting, and received a confirmation email. Upon arriving they "couldn't find my reservation". It wasn't until I showed them the email that they told me the would let us use a table. Our party of 4 all ordered tastings. They poured the wine, which was the bottom of bottles full of sediment. So disgusting. Not sure why they did not just open new bottles. Nothing was explained, and we were very confused, we tried to ask questions and were basically turned away.
Also, what kind of winery does not allow you to bring your own food

The wines were good. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t. The young blonde working the the counter had terrible customer service skills. I feel bad for the winemaker. She was a terrible representation of their brand and for that reason I probably wouldn’t return. The grounds are beautiful. I wish this experience wouldn’t have left a bad taste in my mouth.

A wonderful experience! Kaitlyn and jessica were friendly and gave us so much information about the area. We did different tastings and loved them all. I haggle recommend this winery for the wine, service, and views. Try it, you'll love it...

Whitecliff isn't just my favorite vineyard and winery in NY state, it's my favorite in America. As a two decade plus vegan, the selection of vegan friendly wines and food is incredible. The staff are amazing and extremely knowledgeable. I see some folks have posted bad reviews. I have been there many times and never witnessed any of the rude behavior being referred to. To me that means you brought it in with you. I could not recommend Whitecliff more highly than I do. Some of my absolute favorite wine.

I am so disappointed at the customer service at this place. My cousin called in advance to confirm our party of 10 could be accommodated. It was no problem ahead of time but when we got there the man behind the counter kept on saying they couldn't accommodate parties larger than 6. What I don't understand is why we just weren't booked two tables in the first place- one for 6 and one for 4. Or 5 and 5. That's what other places do. Instead we were told that 6 of our party could sit and the other 4 would be pretty much out of luck. What's more is that there were so many empty

Staff was professional and knowledgeable especially Christine she helped a few in Our group that weren't really sure what they liked . Once we all found our personal taste we settled in and enjoyed the view. It was a great day and will be going back with some family and friends

WILL NOT BE BACK!!! HOW DO THEY STAY IN BUSINESS? We've been there several times and have brought friends as well. So we go last week and when we get there we're greeted by this blond women { I'm writing nice). We wanted to buy a $14 bottle of red blend which we like a lot . We were then told that because of COVID they could not open a bottle for us BUT they could sell a glass for $7. Ok 7x 4 is 28. So first off their blaming it on COVID WHICH IS A LOT OF BS. (Other wineries and whiskey places are not pulling this BS. We left and went to other wineries and told them this story

Nice views. Not great wine. Came here with some friends to try the tasting flights on a weekend trip to gardiner from the city. There were a few picnic tables on the grass and a few 2 person round tables on the patio. They were only letting one group into the building at a time so we had to wait a bit to go in an order our flights. When it was our turn to enter the building a women cuts in front of us and we were told to wait outside until she left the building.

A few of us ordered the "best of whitecliff flights" The wine was served in little plastic cups that you pour into one wine

My boyfriend and I came here in the fall and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our time here. The staff was knowledgeable and the wines were great!
They did only offer outdoor seating, so we had to wait a minute to get a table but stayed for nearly 2 hours when we did. We did multiple tastings (they gave small cups and a wine glass to pour the little cups in) and sheets with info on all the wines. We ended up leaving with a few bottles.
Overall, a great spot with a kind, knowledgeable staff, beautiful views and great wine!

Almost two years ago my husband and I made a visit to Whitecliff. It was probably our 4th or 5th time and it wasn't a great visit. It was super busy and we thought that what had been such a favorite had changed. I wrote a review and the owners reached out - which was really very nice - and hoped we would return again in future. Well, we did and it was everything we remembered. We love, love, love their Awosting White wine. Oh! So delicious! Awosting is made from 70% Seyval Blanc and 30% Vignoles mainly from the Hudson Valley. Whitecliff is one of the treasures of the Hudson Valley

Beautiful view, not impressed with the wine but it's worth to do the tasting, everyone's palate is different. Social distance definitely in place, you can only go I side the built one by one. You need to buy food with you tasting 'Cuomo's law' in NY.

COVID procedures are good, keeping everyone outside and just coming in quickly to order one at a time. They still take the time to tell you about each wine in your tasting which are all excellent.

I do not usually write yelp reviews. But today I have to sit down and take my time and write about this place. Today is a Saturday. My family and I drove up almost 2 hours and anticipated wonderful winery experience. I heard many wonderful things about this place. We made an appointment for 7 people. However the limit is 6 people. My family member made a reservation and the worker said they can accommodate for 7 people. We were all excited.

We arrived and this guy with tattoos on his arms and legs said we cannot be served because we are a party of 7. We understand during this COVID pandemic and

I would probably give Whitecliff only three stars, but their shop is very impressive as are the views. In warmer weather you could sit on their deck and enjoy an amazing view of the cliff face nearby. Their shop is stocked with all kinds of unique quality made items.

Now for the wines... their list is quite impressive, and there will likely be something to impress anyone somewhere on this list. Tastings consist of six from this mammoth list, they break down the most popular into categories, of you can pick your own six at random.

As I have experienced with other wineries with big wine lists

So this winery was tough for me to review. The wines were just ok to me... But the staff, gift shop and phenomenal views of the mountains gave them the 4 stars! They had tastings set up into categories and I of course selected the "sweets" for 12.00 and you got 6 small samples and quite honestly they just weren't all that sweet and the taste was ok at best. We did end up buying a bottle of the Lagrange.

I did however have fun buying some unique things from their gift shop, so that made me happy!

Hoping today's wineries bring more to the table than yesterday!!! :)
