Literally the most amazing place EVER!! Very cool and mysterious vibes and Edgar Allen Poe references ! Plenty of craft cocktail with all sorts of unique twists and great specials on bottles of wine! The food is absolutely incredible and plenty of gluten free and veggies options available !! I went here on a Friday evening and enjoyed the setting. I had a glass of red and sparkling, as well as a prosciutto sandwich. The sandwich was a good value and I would order it again. I enjoyed my wine, but it did not seem the waiter knew much about the wine. That became even clearer when my sparkling was served out of a wine glass. I expected a little more since it seemed like a wine bar vibe.

This was our first time here and were pleasantly surprised. The only reason we found it was because they had put a Chalk sandwich board on Main St. Thought we would check it out and we are so glad we did. The Manhattan was great and the wine selection just perfect. We had the chopped salad and goat cheese and artichoke flat bread (actually a small pizza) and it was all delicious! Will come back for sure!!!!!

I love the Poe House restaurant in Henderson, NC. I was only staying one night and wanted to experience something local that expressed the culture of the town. I felt this was truly a hidden gem on the lower level and old historic type of building near Main St downtown that is decorated in Edgar Allen Poe themed decor. The downtown is so cute that it is worth taking the time to visit. The food is reasonably priced and gourmet plates were very good. We ordered the cheese plate, the meat plate, the Caprese salad and a beef sandwich, also with a suggested wine from the menu and a speciality alcohol

I have been comIng to this place for years!!! I don't know what has happened to management/bar tending but I'm at a loss of words. They NEED a new cocktail bar tender. Horrible attitude and management could care less. Didn't even serve me or my sister because something else was more important??? Will not be coming back. EVER. Better places in town that treat you like human beings.

Small hidden little spot.
The Goat Cheese Flatbread pizza was fantastic only thing it's served as a regular pizza not so much a flatbread pizza.
Bees Knees Drink is was very interesting in a good way never drank anything that lavender-ie!
Service was meteor but it was New Years Eve so they definitely get a pass on that part of the review.
If I lived closer I would definitely be back to visit!

I haven't posted in a while; however, my experience tonight merited a post/response and I am happy to oblige. I live in the most pleasant, rural, great place to raise your kids, Hendersonville. For the most part, we have a thriving culinary community and are very conscious of our nearby competitors (I.e. Asheville and Charlotte). Nevertheless, we hold our own as culinary innovators and hosts to the growing tourist community.

While driving to downtown Hendersonville the sign for The Poe House caught my eye. It seemed like a neat bar or restaurant and it definitely was. The decor on the inside was all Edgar Allan Poe themed and they played somewhat modern music. The prices for their creative cocktails were also less than what I initially thought. On Tuesdays they have a champagne bar too where you can add different ingredients in that are in old fashion looking bottles. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes unique restaurants/bars and tasty, old fashion cocktails!

Beautifully decorated in the romantically tragic, odd life of Poe. Someone paid great attention to detail, there is seating in the front and back, with walls formed out of old doors and windows linked together. great wall art that reflects Poe's spirit. Space is intimate but well laid out. 2 bars, One in front, one in back. Front bar is great when there's live music and bar in back is inviting (5 seats) and great for conversation.

Nate, my bartender was wonderful! Very knowledgeable about the menu for food and drinks
