Table is a small, seasonal, New American restaurant in the heart of downtown Asheville. A daily changing menu, created by Chef Jacob Sessoms and his seasoned team, is inspired by a wealth of American culinary traditions, paying particular homage to the South, and celebrating long standing relationships with local farmers and artisans.

Table was the first of numerous ventures in Asheville, NC, built by husband and wife team, Jacob and Alicia Sessoms. The two own and operate Table; All Day Darling, a neighborhood cafe in historic Montford, NC; and Right There bar, a burger, beer & whiskey bar also in downtown Asheville. With Table, Sessoms and team have set out to create the space that they wanted to frequent and an atmosphere in which they like to entertain.

What an extraordinary place! The menu is so inventive, and the food is incredibly delicious. I had the scallop crudo and the monkfish, but none of us could resist trying each other’s dishes. So well seasoned and addictive. Service was impeccable as well. Just a gorgeous experience all around.

We had an absolute blast here, and the food was amazing. Our waiter Stuart made the entire evening great. He made awesome meal and wine recommendations and brought a lot of humor to the experience.
Would highly recommend Table when you're visiting Asheville.

Seriously, 5 stars just does not even do this experience justice. Our server, Matthew, was attentive, friendly, helpful, and just all around pleasant. We had a relatively late reservation and no one rushed us or even gave the impression it was near closing. We were greeted warmly as we arrived and as we were seated. Fantastic wine selection and the food was absolutely incredible! We had the lamb kebabs and carrot and burrata appetizers, followed by the pork schnitzel and pasta al funghi. We went in to this place on a whim last night, NYE, one of the busiest nights of the year. We weren't feeling beers and as we were walking back to our air bnb we decided to pop in.

The host was quick to find us a table near the bar, and nick, the bartender quickly came over to get our order. I know, bartenders may HATE when people say, "feel free to make whatever you want"....but nick made us feel like this was an exciting challenge and spent time with us figuring out what we like and what to order each time. The cook with purple long hair was absolutely disgusting.
His hair was down and all over the place
He never changed his gloves after touching raw meat
He kept smoking his vape while cooking and then touching peoples plates with it.
Burger was so dry!

We love sitting at the bar but this has been the worst cook ever!

Wow! Didn't even get to eat here. The little man host was so quick to judge. I was wearing designer and my nail polish was more expensive than his Goodwill outfit. I've never had such an experience and disrespect within stepping in. Go elsewhere, I gave the waitress from our next location a big cash tip, that what's I do on Christmas Eve, because we felt welcomed.

Had an exceptional din din with the wife this evening. Highly recommend sitting at the bar. Banter was great, cocktails & wine recommendations were top notch. They don't skimp on portions, great value fur sure. Cool eclectic spot for a chill evening out. Highly recommend. We will be back!

Absolute perfection! Loved the vibe of the restaurant and the food was amazing. I had the roasted chicken which was moist and delicious. We also had a decadent brownie pudding. and they have an adventurous wine menu, not just the same old stuff. Highly recommend.

The food is good, but not worth the price. The cocktails are $16. There is no decor and the ambience is nonexistent. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Our service was great though.

Great service. Pricey wine list, but both bottles we had were fantastic, especially the natural Rose. Opening bread and salad were very fresh and tasty. The cavatelli/rabbit was the best entree we ordered. The bergamot Creme Brulee was top notch. Would definitely visit again for a special occasion.

Everything was really delicious. There were five of us and everyone had something different. I had the SC flounder and unfortunately it was really salty. My friends sampled it and felt the same way. But otherwise everything else we ordered was amazing!

Reservation for our anniversary. Food was very good, my husband ordered the swordfish, cooked fantastic however a little over seasoned. The Lamb and Steak Tartar was amazing along with the Carrots and Burrata dish. I ordered pasta outside of the comfort zone, with Rabbit... it was so good! The pasta was like gnocchi. The seating is very close together and overall size of the restaurant is small, so you are somewhat on top of each other. For those wanting a conversation or simply in some cases wanting to hear each other, not for you here as it was very loud. Limited bar selections as well for ordering

The food was delicious!! The service was pretty fair. Docked a star because the ambiance wasn't great, especially considering the upscale prices...We had a much higher expectation of the dining experience. When we looked at the menu online and planned this as our newlywed dinner we thought it would be chic and elegant but what we showed up to was a hole-in-the wall, side-by-side seating arrangement. I think they charge a bit too much for the food considering this kind of setting. The food was great, just a weird experience and maybe our expectations were set too high? Anyways I would go back

Let me start by saying my husband and I are “chicken tender” people! Basically we steer clear of anything adult! And then TABLE! We’ve had rabbit, lamb and everything here! And guys, it’s not just good it’s GREAT! The service matched the people which matched the atmosphere! Give this place a try!

Food is delicious--our group ordered pork schnitzel, steak and fish entrées and no one was disappointed. Also, the bread is well worth it--warm, soft, brioche-like loaf. Only negative is that drinks are expensive even by Asheville standards.

Overall - I would come back. I think this place deserves 4.5 stars but I'm giving it 5 stars to boost its rating because it's shocking that this place is only 4 stars and I thinks it's getting overlooked for lesser places

House bread- I don't love the concept of paying for break but this was delicious. Hot brioche with warm butter and salt. 100 percent worth it

Bone marrow - loved it. Generous portion. The best part I will say is the grapes they served it with. They were the size of cherry tomatoes and it tasted like eating red wine. You have to try it

My boyfriend and I were recommended Table for our date this past Friday. We couldn't have been happier with our decision to take the advice. We did not have a reservation but we were able to find seating with no issues. (This was around 8pm) The staff was incredibly friendly and it was a wonderful environment. Cliff was our server and took great care of us. We shared two starters and a pasta dish and all of it was phenomenal. We definitely look forward to coming back again. Great restaurant for a date night or just to even grab a few cocktails!

We enjoyed our last dinner of our trip at Table and it was AMAZING! We selected market vegetables with a light dressing for our starter, and they were fresh and bright in flavor. We shared the Schnitzel pork chip (it's massive!) and the rabbit pasta (how knew I'd LOVE rabbit?), which were both a flavor explosion.For dessert, we we had the flourless chocolate cake with homemade ice cream and the sticky pudding with caramel sauce. It was ecstasy and a perfect way to finish our meal! The outside dining space is lovely and our server, Nicole, was fantastic. The ambiance is comfortable and fun. Please

We were so fortunate to stumble across this lovely restaurant on a Friday night. We were seated outside underneath twinkling lights and had the pleasure of being served by Stuart. Stuart really made this dining experience exceptional not only with his knowledge of each food item but also with his super relaxed personality yet attentive service.

We started with the homemade bread and butter. The crust had a salty texture and taste, not unlike a hot pretzel. Delicious!

I had a homemade pasta with mushrooms and Parmesan. Not sure how this simple dish was elevated, maybe the herbs or freshness

Fantastic drinks and food experience, from top to bottom. The off menu lamb Raghu with gnocchi was first class. I seem to recall it from the pre-Covid Table that was around the corner from the new location . The bread and butter? We balked at $7 for bread but changed our minds when we saw it at another table. Amazing and worth it! Beware portions - huge in general so share if two of you are happy for that. Overall a winner

From the moment we sat down, Stuart took care of us, answered our questions, and made excellent recommendations.
For starters, we had the tartare and the bread. We were sold on the tartare when we saw it was served with potato chips!
We decided upon the chicken, and swordfish since it was so different than anything we had ever had.
Our cocktails were perfect.
Thank you for making our first date night in Asheville memorable!

Creative, modern - and local - cuisine, right in the heart of Asheville. The whole grilled trout for two was outstanding, with crispy skin and literally more meat than we could finish. Other highlights included the steak tartare, a fresh tomato salad, and sautéed local chanterelle mushrooms. Steak with potatoes was a bit undercooked (almost rare when we asked for medium), and had a sour cream spritz that wasn't listed on the menu (1/2 star off). The service was impeccable, and everyone is super well trained in top level etiquette. The other 1/2 star off was the lack of air conditioning

2 gripes--

1) The outdoor seating creatively re-purposes a steep alley into a tiered deck with overhead bistro lights. Really pretty booths as we walk up and up and up... until you get to the last 2 which are basically in the parking lot behind Kimpton Hotel. Fine, but its also right off the back of Table and Right Here Bar where the employees take their smoke break on an overturned bucket every 10 or so minutes. The smell of cigarettes really overpowers the nice food. I would definitely appreciate it if Table had a no smoking policy and kept the outdoor space cancer free (patrons and employees

Came here on a Saturday night for dinner. We were able to call ahead and got to the restaurant about 10 minutes later with a table ready for us! The restaurant has a nice vibe and when the outside temp cools off, they open the big window/doors that create an immersive dinning experience with the outdoor street.

The service was excellent and we never felt rushed. We had a great server who knew the menu inside and out. She helped us decide our main courses.

Mushroom toast - we started with the mushroom toast as an appetizer. If you love mushrooms, you will like this toast. Has a nice buttery

We tried Table at their new location on Lexington Ave for dinner on a Saturday evening. The place gets a nice late afternoon light. It had a lively atmosphere.
I ordered the two pastas on the menu, a spaghetti with sprouted cauliflower and anchovies and a cavatelli with rabbit and spring alliums. Both were outstanding.
My husband had the wreckfish. It came with radishes, olives, capers and raisins.
The service was attentive and the food came out fast.
They have an interesting menu, with a couple large format entrees, for two people. A whole fish, (today was trout) and a ribeye. They are not cheap

For those who don't know, Table is now at their new location around the corner at 18 North Lexington Ave.
They have an outdoor patio which we chose to sit at and watch shoppers wander by. It was a perfect Thursday evening for it as things weren't 'weekend hectic' yet and we didn't have to share the space.
Our waitress, Erin, was very attentive and friendly and went out of her way to make sure we had a lovely evening. Towards the end of our meal we were told she was new which made her even more impressive. Table, if you're reading this, she's a keeper!

Our meal here was exceptional - starting with the bread & butter. We ordered the mint & pea agnolotti and the poached wreckfish - both incredible, unique dishes. We finished with the toffee pudding which was to die for. All of the recommended wine and sherry pairings were on point. We had a great experience and would highly recommend this great little spot!

Asheville. A diverse city. Downtown... old school... new school... there's no real way to put words on what this place is. The cocktails are RIDICULOUS and their selection is unique and delicious! The bartenders were just amazing and we were able to order off the full restaurant menu. Just an enchanting evening start to finish. Had some lovely cocktails next door at Right There bar (one from tables menu) Jockey on Fire, the house made cherry cola and Fernet, El Presidente and loved it all. Benjamin was an awesome bartender and we had some delicious fries while we hung out. I hate Yelp! Reviews but it's a helpful tool and this place rocks. Eat and drink here. Don't be a dingus
