Camp Rockmont
Since its founding in 1956, Camp Rockmont has been a place where boys have found space and opportunity to grow into the men that God is calling them to be. We present age-appropriate challenges that become the vehicle to personal growth, and male development. My son, Cannon, was a first time camper last July.

He dove right in and decided he was going to be cool with 2 weeks away from home (and me) even though as a single mother (I adopted Cannon from Ethiopia by myself), he has never been away from either for that long. Son: Anthony, Age 14 Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana My husband and I keep looking at each other wondering how long this positive will change will last.
Services
At Camp Rockmont, campers and staff work together to create an incredibly fun and meaningful Christian community in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Each summer, Rockmont serves over 1,400 boys from all over the U.S. and other countries.

We partner with parents to invite young men to answer a universal call to adventure and discover things about themselves that require the kind of experience that only a quality boys summer camp can provide. We invite your son to be part of that journey! Camps are known to be places where stories are developed and shared, whether around a campfire, in the cabin, or on the road traveling home.
By providing activities that challenge the camper to stretch himself in healthy ways physically. By creating a community where each camper feels respected and heard, while also providing opportunities for him to respect and hear others. By teaching campers to thrive in a new environment and make new friends, particularly through the cabin experience.
Each summer, from mid-June to mid-August, Rockmont is a private, Christian camp serving over 1,600 young people from all parts of the world. The rest of the year, we make our facilities available to groups both large and small. Located on the site of the former Black Mountain College, Rockmont has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Camp Rockmont is located 15 miles east of Asheville, NC, near the town of Black Mountain. The camp includes a 20-acre private lake and consists of over 550 secluded, privately owned acres surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest wilderness. We are blessed with an ideal balance of rugged mountainous terrain and level bottom land.
4-Week CIT's who are 17 years old will have the opportunity to apply for a summer staff position following their CIT session! A $800 deposit is required to reserve a spot for your camper. In such an event, 50% of the tuition will be refunded or 100% of the tuition (less the $250 processing fee) will be rolled over to the following summer.

Ever since my kids started coming to Camp Rockmont I have appreciated the care and compassion---and enthusiasm!--that the staff have exhibited. My son had an excellent time there this summer. And I really appreciated all of the health precautions that they took before and during camp. What a wonderful place with a great staff and a fabulous location!

My child had the best time here. I was concerned about whether he would fit in, but he loved it. Definitely plan on coming next year. This camp has hundreds of acres. Shocked that he had so much fun. Great transition from school life. Liked his counselor and most of his cabin mates.

Fun place for the kids. The cabin and bathroom facilities are not maintained well at all. The overall camp is fun for the activities.

My boys attended this day camp and it was truly amazing. They can’t wait to go back and really enjoyed the various activities and friendly, cool counselors! I loved the director, Misty, who was very involved, super kind and calm, and just all around amazing. Would highly recommend!!!!

We sent our son to Rockmont all the way from California. He had an overwhelmingly positive experience as a 13-year-old first-time Rockmont camper. Pros included great facilities, a huge outdoor sprawl for endless adventure and games, advanced skills like blacksmithing and riflery, sleepouts, really fun and well-organized day trips, camp-wide afternoon and evenings games such as shirt-tail tag, a lot of physical activity, and a clear and positive message for boys. The camp has an advancement program for the campers so they work towards earning stripes by showing internal growth and leadership ability

I've only been here for LEAF but the land is absolutely beautiful. I would have loved to go to camp here as a kid.

Cabins, a lake to swim in, a waterslide, diving boards, etc...... Plus beautiful land to roam, this place is perfect. Give it a visit sometime and see what all they have to offer.

Both my boys (10 & 11 years old) went this past summer and absolutely loved it. They were squealing with excitement as we rounded the corner to enter the camp on the first day. They both ventured out of their comfort zone trying new activities and meeting new friends. We had a few food requests for the kitchen staff which they easily accommodated. My boys said all the staff treated them nicely and we're just a lot of fun to be around. It's been 4 months and they're still talking about their new friends, camp counselors, & the gully wash. They're already plotting their activities and bunk mates

Rockmont is a great place to send your boys. The Starter Camp is a great start because the boys get to try new things. My son tried Air Riflery and Thunderball. You probably might knock a star out because bedtime is 9:45,but I personally don't care about that because that is just one of the little things. The food is great (according to my son) and I think it was a great experience for him.
