How do I know the test is accurate? We are members of NRSB (National Radon Safety Board) and hold the designation of "Radon Measurement Specialist" We follow EPA established protocols in the testing and analysis of radon. Our continuous radon monitors are calibrated and cross-checked in accordance with EPA guidelines.
Asbestos is a mineral fiber that can only be positively identified via laboratory analysis. There are several types of asbestos fibers. Asbestos was added to many household products as a fire retardant coating, an insulation and to provide additional strength qualities.
It is associated with acoustic "popcorn" ceilings, thermal pipe insulation, HVAC flexible duct connectors, "transite" panels in chimneys, vinyl floor tiles, ceiling tiles and vermiculite insulation.Asbestos material, if disturbed, may release fibers which can be inhaled into the lungs. Asbestos material that has been disturbed, damaged, scraped is more likely to create a health hazard.

Robert was a pleasure to work with and an excellent home inspector. Robert was thorough and well-informed about all aspects of inspecting the 1947-built two-story home with a basement we are purchasing. He walked trough all aspects of the inspection with us, provided his report (with digital photos) promptly, and provided practical advice for potential repairs and improvements.
Robert, The Home Detective, went above and beyond with his duties while performing my home and radon inspection. His great attitude and commitment to be helpful made the experience very enjoyable. As each minute of the inspection went on I felt more comfortable knowing the magnitude of each defect within the home.
This is my third time using Robert's services. Home inspectors don't get better than him. He is thourogh and extremely knowledgeable at his craft. Robert is personable and will educate you on every aspect of the home inspection process. I learned so much in the hours I spent with him. He will give you lots of tips so take good notes.

Although I didn't have the pleasure of actually having Robert as a home inspector (due to some unrelated circumstances with my realtor) I could not recommend him enough. I gave him a call in hopes he have would some open availability under a short notice and he gladly opened his schedule for me. Not only did he make the time in his schedule, but he also spoke with me for 30 minutes; thoroughly explaining his process and what sets him apart from the others in his field while giving me specific details on the condo I am purchasing. What can I say, Robert truly is the best. He is an encyclopedia of knowledge, and more importantly he cares! Its obvious he loves what he does and goes out of his way to make his clients feel safe and get the attention they deserve.
Our home had a pretty severe Radon issue. Robert was right there to talk us through every step of the way and lower our basement readings from a 200 PiC Average to a .5 average.
Look that up, thats pretty dangerous.

We did a home inspection with Robert about 1 year ago. He was very detailed with his findings and explanations. He provided us with images, descriptions, and recommendations. We felt very informed and comfortable moving forward with our home purchase.
His home evaluation report suggested reaching out with any future questions, several years out – so when I had an HVAC issue about one year after my home purchase I did just that. I cannot recommend The Home Detective (Robert) highly enough. If there were 6 stars, I would give them. There are a lot of home inspectors available, and if you just want someone to check the boxes so you can buy your house, Robert is not the guy for you. If you want an inspector who will go above and beyond what he is required to do and really find potential issues in your home, there is no one better.

Robert was great! We used Robert to inspect our 20+ year old house and have nothing but good things to say about the experience.I am not a very "handy" person and having Robert there to explain how different things work in the home, what to keep an eye on as time goes and what questions/things to clarify with agent/seller post inspection was invaluable.

Robert provided us with an outstanding home inspection during our home buying process. Robert is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He really wants the home buyer to be informed about the house in both maintenance and current status. He saved me when buying a house because he went the extra mile to look at the hard to see and hard to get to part of my roof and found water damage. No one would have seen that by just taking a quick glance. Because he caught it I could negotiate for a fix. Just amazing. This was the second time we used Robert's services for inspecting a home before buying. We believe that it is critical to get a good inspection for a home that we are putting a huge amount of money on, so we tried to go for the best.
