Project Regina Contract Sewing started 40 years ago in 1976 as a non-profit by Sister Marie Lee at Regina Catholic High School in south Minneapolis, teaching Hispanic immigrants English and how to sew on commercial sewing machines. When Regina High School closed in 1984, the program was partnered with and moved to Minneapolis Public schools adult education center to continue the English language and sewing with refugees and Hispanic immigrants.
