The year was 1996 when the idea to build a cabin came into our minds. Actually it was my fathers idea to build a log cabin on a peace of Emert/Tipton family ground located just off hwy 321 near Apple Valley. Anyway, we built the "Emert Bluff Retreat" log cabin that year. At that point we decided to try and rent it and embarked on a over 20 year journey.

There was an additional 200.00 deposit at check in that wasn't disclosed until check in. Several signs around the cabin made you think they didn't want you to use anything in the cabin. At check in owner had pictures of bear damage to the hot tub lid and made it sound as if renters encouraged bears. Wont stay again

Chuck and Lisa Tipton are amazing. I went to this cabin as a girls weekend with my 16 year old daughter and her 2 friends. It was perfect. Quiet cabin in the middle of nowhere basically but close enough to all the fun stuff available in Pigeon Forge etc.
The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed (except scissors, so bring those) it was clean and comfortable. I honestly have no complaints and that's not like me. I can't wait to bring my whole family. Maybe in the winter.
Word of advice: Check in before dark. You'll thank me later ;)

Cabin was extremely clean. All appliances were in working order. Loved having the washer/dryer and a full size shower (not customary in small cabins). We have stayed in many "romantic cabins" and this was by far the best. We had everything we needed.
Hot tub was warm and clean when we arrived. Instructions were clearly posted throughout the cabin. Wrap around porch was clean with lots of seating. There was even a sauna but, we did not get a chance to use it.
Chuck and Lisa were great hosts. We will stay again in the future.
Thank you guys for a wonderful stay.

I took the family on a weekend trip back to the mountains, when we arrived it was love at first sight. The cabin we stayed in was The Lady Slipper. It was 3 bedroom with equipped kitchen and even washer and dryer. Just walking in the door the first thing that hit us was the beautiful woodwork and the amazing fireplace. My folks were perfectly content sitting in front of it and watching the fire. So content that we ran low on wood, so I called and Chuck ventured out in the pouring rain to restock the wood pile. That’s what I call service, all so my family could enjoy our stay. The service we received

Our stay at the Lady’s Slipper was awesome. The owners are right down the road should any urgent or emergency matters happen. They are family owned, run and local.
A great quiet get away from the hustle, bustle and traffic. Yet close enough to get to Knoxville, Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge for a night out.
The decor is very well thought out for its mountain area heritage. [If you are looking a suburb or modern look this is not for you. There are picture available online)
The cabins are clean. The rates are comparable to the area.
My family and I will definitely return- thanks for your hospitality

We just completed our first stay at Time for Two, one of the cabins at Tipton's Cabin Rentals. Since this was my first time renting a cabin in the area, I really didn't know what to expect. As it turned out, the cabin was absolutely beautiful and perfect, both inside and out. We found the kitchen to be well-equipped and we cooked several meals while there. There's even a Foosball table in the room! The cabin is also in a perfect setting if you're looking for privacy. It's not too far off the road but is surrounded by trees so you'll have complete privacy. It was fantastic. By the way, if you're
