Whenever we submit a maintenance request to have something fixed, the maintenance team always comes the very next day and we are so grateful for that. The location is great -- right across the street from downtown Pleasanton. Overall, this apartment complex has been comfortable and the team is very responsive

I have lived in 30+ different apartments and never had as bad experience as civic square.
In last 2 years, water has been shut of in our apartment for atleast 4 times. And each time, its not couple of hours; its usually couple of days and more importantly without any prior notice. With no water, we have to eat out, buy tons of water bottles, buy hotel room for shower but they are not willing to reimburse for couple of days of rent or expenses.
Not to mention mail services has been off for month and we have to go to post office every week.
And if they are sympathetic or understanding difficulties

Well. not only have we not had mail delivered to our actual mailboxes for about a month or so, but we also have had our water shut off this evening since 6pm. as of 11 pm, we have finally gotten a vague email regarding the shutoff, putting the blame on the city for some reason. ironically they also blamed USPS for the halting of mail delivery services, but when i talked to the post office they said they've been asking civic square to change the mailboxes for a very, very long time. it seems like civic square is unable to take any responsibility or any urgency into account. like... i feel so

This is the worst experience we've had so far living in a rental apartment. We've been renting here for almost a year and we won't renew our lease.
The most recent shenanigan is that currently our water is shut off for 24 hours and will continue to be at least for another day! The other recent issue was with our male boxes. You can read about it in the previous review. The funny thing is they waited for almost 2 weeks to inform us that we have to go pick up our mail from the post office and it would go on for a couple of months!
I've never witnesses such an incompetent and careless management

Owners do not care about their residents, they just see only money that comes in, no help provided by owners. Past two days no water in the entire community over 200+ families impacted. They just say we couldn't find spares since its holiday. Are they kidding really? They don't provide any alternate accommodation or anything, they just locked the apartment office and vanished and no response when we call emergency maintenance person. Please look for some other better apartment. Unable to give 0 or negative rating, its not even worth to get a 1 star rating except the location advantage.

Location is great, close to downtown, grocery store and middle school. It's a good place with reasonable accomodations and great staff. The pool is maintained. They have honored their promise to replace all appliances, as part of their renovation. But the owner is currently battling with the United States Postal Service about replacing the mailboxes, which has resulted in a complete shutdown of all public mail services to tenants, which means that all of us have to go to the post office to pickup our mail. And the post office will not allow us to wait in the regular line at the post office, as

I ended my lease with Civic Square because I didn't feel safe living there. They seem to have an issue with crime amongst other things; such as cars being broken into and peoples' license plates being stolen from their vehicles. After I left and the Management sent me what was left of my security deposit, the check actually bounced. I reached out to their on-site manager several times to have a new check issued, and kept getting the run around. I never saw a new check, which is against the law by the way. Honestly, I'm just glad I don't live there anymore. If you don't

The entire management team is unprofessional and rude. If you get a quote, ask for the entire cost including utility. I was told a specific amount that was supposed to include everything. After almost a year, they came back and said I owe more. So get everything in writing if they promise anything. The parking is minimal. If you get apartment off of Bernal the street noise is LOUD day and night! Location is great but unfortunately with covid everything is shut down.

I looked to rent here and put a hold deposit of $545. I was told
If I decided not to rent, I would get my $500 back and that $45 would be kept for application fee. I decided that same day not to rent there. I have an email from one of their employees stating that I I'll have the refund within 21 days. They kept the entire deposit. 3 months later, I have attempted to reach them on several occasions and they do not return the calls. I'll be filing a small claims against them next. I wouldn't recommend renting from them if this is how they operate.

Floyd is terrible. We had an appointment at a specific time with him (1:30pm) to view some available apartments. He said he would get off his lunch at 1:30pm and would be happy to give us a tour. We arrived promptly at that time. When we got out of our car, we saw Floyd getting into a golf cart with some other potential future tenants. He said "they showed up late and you showed up early. I'm going to show them an apartment now." He also had an attitude towards us as if we did something wrong. How late is "late" when he said his lunch was over at 1:30, which means they

Only good if you don't mind that advertised security/parking enforcement ignores phone calls and is nowhere to be found, and if you don't mind the leasing office being incompetent and ignoring you, even pre-COVID.

We moved in half a year ago and still haven't gotten refrigerator door shelf bars to make our refrigerator door shelves usable, a working stove fan, or a consistently working bedroom toilet. They told us they'd fix many things once we signed the lease, but never did. Maybe that's why they don't have any recent good reviews? All of the good reviews are old

I lived in Civic Square for 4 years and in that time I experienced 10 water shutoffs with one lasting 3 days, loud noisy neighbors at all hours of the night and day that no matter how many times you call the office about do not change, roaches that are all over the complex and enter your home, and sketchy people who break into your cars. The first warning sign should have been when the leasing agent lied to me about the cost of my rent, then lied again about the deal I was supposed to get that should have been applied to my first year of my lease. While the office did give me the bonus a month

This is just another update. The last essay with all the terrible things that happen at this complex are still very valid. Just wanted to note in response to the property manager comment I called several times leaving messages, emailed the office and staff and messaged him via yelp messages and no response. This management staff is horrendous, I would highly recommend living at any of the other complexes in Pleasanton.

Pirates. Bait and switch. When you are ready to sign the lease, they tell you that you have to pay $97 a month more for common area utilities, garbage and pest control. Expenses that most apartment owners pay. Then you find out they only accept cashiers checks so you have to pay online for an additional $9.95 a month. At the end of your lease, you are offered another years lease at a 4% bump or you can go month to month at 9.1% more. This is highway robbery. By continuing to sign new one year leases, you are going to eventually be stuck moving with an average of 6 months to go. They have you over

DO NOT LIVE HERE. I had to sue them in small claims court just to get my money back from my deposit. They COMPLETELY ignored all calls, e-mails, and certified demand letters I sent to their office. Not only that, but after I filed the lawsuit against them, they had the nerve to send my bill to a debt collector! Finally, after FOUR MONTHS and court intervention, I was able to obtain a judgment against them to get my money back.

Nice try Civic Square. I see you have tried to hire a fake review team to give you 5 star reviews. Easy to spot because those reviewers have no history. Shame on you Yelp for taking money from Civic Square apartments to allow the phony reviewers not to be filtered.

I was a long term resident of this place and then they decided that they were going to do "upgrades and remodel" and that it was going to be better for everybody. Place was under construction for an entire year during which because they were building a brand new clubhouse they reduced an already difficult parking situation

This is a good apartment complex. I have been living here for 2.5 yrs and recently extended my lease for another year. Here is why I like this place:

1. Location: steps to downtown, farmers market every Saturday. A wonderful public library across the street. ACE train station is 10 min walk. My kids school right across the street with a nice running track and tennis courts. Beautiful hills view nearby. Bernal Community park is 15 mins walk with nice amenities.
2. Complex has lots of grass and trees, not concrete everywhere as seen in some other apartment complexes. This keeps the apartment cool

I dont know what its like to live there. i called for information to help a client.
I was put on hold to and thought the person helping me was going to get a manager. Next thing I knew i was being hung up on. I guess the manager didn't have answer either or even bother to find out. I hope they treat their residents a little bit better.

I’ve lived here for a couple years and I’ve got to say it has really gone downhill, with no improvements what so ever. You can never find parking, there’s random power outages, water shutoffs, and not to mention how the water is only hot for only a couple minutes has really made me hate living here. The gym is also pretty awful with barely any equipment so it really makes me wonder why the rent is so high and even increasing. There is no reason you should be paying over $2500 to live in a place like this.

Oh man. This place is bittersweet. Great location basically downtown. Quiet, decent neighbors, and pet friendly. We got super lucky with our awesome upstairs neighbors! Problem though. Absolutely no parking. One spot for two people and no guest parking at all. Not only that, but they are building three more large buildings and I have no comprehension of where these new tenants are going to park. Ridiculous.
