After working in the banking industry for 20 years, Joseph E. Ashmore, Jr. was appointed Judge of Probate Court No. 3 in Dallas County, Texas, a position he held for 12 years. Judge Ashmore presided over probate as well as mental illness cases, and eventually retired from the bench in 1986. After retiring, Joseph Ashmore began practicing law in Dallas where he became a named partner in the law firm of Vassallo and Ashmore.

We live in Oklahoma and needed an attorney in Texas. We had zoom calls with several law firms and they all wanted us to put down a very large retainer. Our situation was unique as our child had been taken from our custody by a family member. These are just the facts concerning the Ashmore law firm. I was going through a divorce where I wanted to keep the house I was living and working out of with my business. We had two houses where I lived next door to my exe. From the on set I said to Kimmy, the divorce is my fault so let my exe keep what she has and let me keep what I have. Mind you this is my first divorce, so I have no experience when it comes to the legal process. Mind you I had to charge my credit cards to pay for the services from ashmore. For a total of 8 months of legal counsel it cost me well over 30,000 dollars. Facts I

Going through the process of updating my will was made easier than I had thought....the conversations over the phone to let me know the process and the timeline were extremely helpful. Once I had all my "homework" complete, I had a second conversation with Lori to confirm my wishes and to answer any questions I had. Then we set a date for me to come in and sign my documents and have them notarized.

This firm is a joke , they padded the clock for three years and then charged me 68,000 of which they excepted 6000 of instead. I hired another attorney Doug Perrin and he closed my fathers estate in one month. Something Joe Ashmore and Sheppard Sands could not get done in three years. Beware of this firm. I gave them a star because I have to rate them . 0 stars for me .
