I realized I was getting a flat tire on 12/30 and drove straight to City Tire as I'd been very happy with my service after a previous visit. Imagine my dismay and frustration when I arrived to a dark facility at 4:10 pm. A sign on the door indicated they would be closed the next day, but no notice of them being closed today, no message stating such when calling, no update on Google maps. So now I wait for AAA....

Good service here, making sure I understood what the problem with my car was and showing me a detailed quote before starting service so I could decide what I wanted to pay for and didn’t get surprised when it came time to pay. Everyone was friendly and the waiting room was a comfortable experience. I will definitely be coming back!

I brought in our 2022 Kia Sportage in the morning with a flat tire. I thought it would be a straightforward repair but it turned out that whatever was stuck in the tire ruined the treads and we had to get a whole new one. City Tire ordered it for us, put on the spare in the meantime, and notified me via text when the tire arrived a few hours later. They mounted the new tire, balanced it, and it was ready to be put back on the car when I returned that afternoon. I like their customer service. They are friendly and professional. However, the service fee seems to be too high. For example, when I was repairing the air conditioner in my car, I was charged $200 for inspection (inspection only!!) and another $200 for exchanging the freon gas(after inspection). I've done wheel alignment, exchanged tires, changed engine oil but all those price range were also in high range. Maybe friendly service can explain this price. I have limited experience in the south side of Chicago, but I recently went to another place where it had a more reasonable price range. I recently

I am always nervous about finding a trusted mechanic but when I moved to the near south side, I found City Tire and I’m in great hands with Marc and the crew. I’ve had my car in for regular maintenance and recently when my battery died. Every time the communication has been excellent, I am always treated with respect and the prices are very reasonable. They are knowledgeable, honest and operate with integrity. My car drives like new every time I leave the shop. These guys are the best. Highly professional, I have found them to be exceptionally honest And their fees are reasonable. They explain their findings in detail and I’ve never had any trouble with the repairs. This has ranged from plugging a hole in a tire to engine work. And they’re nice people. I strongly recommend them.

City Tire and Auto repair may just be my auto repair shop for life. Day before yesterday, my car was having trouble starting. Eventually, my car wouldn't start at all and I had to have it towed to City Tire and Auto repair. Recently, I have gone to two auto shops that said my alternator was the problem. A separate auto shop said my battery was at fault. I had done business with City Tire in the past and they did such a "terrific" job, I decided to go back to them. The tow truck driver that took my car to City Tire said that my starter was probably going bad.

I have a Jeep Renegade that started throwing numerous service codes. My service air bag alert was going on and off. Then my power steering also stopped working, and my check engine light came on. Then I had problems shutting off the engine. I bought a new battery at AutoZone, and it fixed the issues for a few months. Then the above issues came back a month or so ago. WORST PLACE. Went in literally pushing my car about a 1 week ago. 1st manager was a total a-#$$% and once I left it so they can give me a diagnosis. I hot a text

Again, I highly recommend City Tire to perform your tire services. I ordered tires to be delivered to City Tire for installation and the entire experience was AWESOME! From the time I called to have the tires delivered, up to the text message that I received a few days after having the tires installed. Marc personally sent me a text message asking if everything was running smoothly with my new tires. These guys consistently give excellent customer service and as a female customer I feel comfortable with all of the services that I pay for and not like I'm getting taken advantage of at all

After getting 2 flat tires at the same time and not being near my house, I called City Tire. They were professional and extremely knowledgeable. They did not try to sell me anything other than what I needed, which I appreciate. My car was completed on time and they followed the proper social distance protocol. Brought my car in for service yesterday oil change tire rotation is all I was looking for. I had forgotten that my left front turn signal was not functioning properly. When I return to pick up my car turn signal have been fixed. I had been intending to replace that bulb for at least a month but we're always stop me is the seven damn bolts that had to be removed before you can replace the bulb. In any event it's done and City Tire noted that it needed to be repaired and they did so. I've been a long-time customer and changing the bulb is just a minor thing but they seem to be like

Got Us In and Fixed It!
My wife discovered that the front passenger side carpet was drenched, and we were off to a wedding the next day. I phoned City Tire the next morning just after they opened, suspecting a plugged AC drainage hose. They invited me to stop by and were able to check our Subaru Outback in a short time . Within an hour or so they cleaned out the plugged drainage hose, installed a new cabin air filter, and dried out the wet electronics under the dash. We were on our way to the wedding soon after. THANKS for the flexibility and quick service, City Tire on 47th!

This is a quality organization hidden in a rough area. I hate that I had to deal with a blown sidewall on a new tire, but it was almost worth it to learn a wonderful shop is right off the freeway on 47th St. No traffic. Easy to park. Quick service. Great prices. Clean and friendly waiting room. They even arranged towing for me and rolled it into the bill.

Would never go back. Came in to repair a tire and it took hour and 15 minutes. Then they fits a tire that didn't have any tread on it. I literally paid $27 for nothing because I had to buy a new tire the same… day. When I first got there I asked them to check the tread beforehand and they waited until they already fix the bad tire before telling me that I need a brand new one. Smh, I wouldn't suggest going here to get repairs.

My tire pressure light came on today after driving from Los Angeles to Chicago. I was down near the University of Chicago and checked yelp for a tire shop nearby, as I don't know that part of the city so well.
We stopped into City Tire and they checked out our tires and sensors. Everything was ok with the tires, so they reset the sensors at no cost. I will definitely use them if I have any car issues again on the south side.
The waiting area was clean, with hot coffee and cold water, and a very clean bathroom.

City Tire has been go-to for my car needs for over a year now, and every experience has been a positive one. At my last visit, I got an oil change and my air filter replaced for about $80. As far as pricing, I don't really have anything to compare it too, so I can't say if it's "overpriced" or not. What I can vouch for, though, is the quality of the work and the transparency of the mechanics.
Even on standard visits, like for oil changes, they let me know if something else is needed or will be needed in the near future. They're not pushy about getting it done right
