Sadly, this place is a shell of its former self. It used to be the best pizza place with the best breadsticks. The pizza slices were large and well made and the breadsticks were SOFT and delicious. Now the breadsticks are as hard as stone and the pizza seems old and crusty every time you eat it. Owners must have changed. Sad. This was the place to go through the 90s and 2000's. Avoid it.

Have been patronizing Gregg’s for nearly 20 years. Years ago, the food was amazing every time. Fresh, hot, pizza slices and golden-brown buttery bread with salt. Not sure what happened, but any time I have visited Gregg’s over the past couple years, it’s just not the same. Pizza is overly greasy and undercooked, sitting under a warmer. The breadsticks are the biggest crime of all - now they always seem undercooked, doughy and just not appetizing. They also give you less dipping sauce than they did than the past. I recently visited Gregg’s and was greeted to no menu, an unavailable fountain

Staff was friendly. Pizza was made fresh! Bread was good. Not having the fountain drinks is a huge let down. The menu display being gone makes the place look depressing and cheap. Greggs is a fan favorite but they gotta step it up if theyre gunna keep the regulars coming back.

Not sure what happened, but showed up today for a slice special and they were not open for lunch. No updates on the door, Facebook, various websites. Would have been nice to know before driving across town. Perhaps they closed down?

Really disappointed in my order last night. Ordered a Caprese gourmet pizza and it was just slop in a box. The cardboard bottom of the container was completely soaked by the time I got it home. Pizza was inedible. Too much moisture in toppings I guess. We tried reheating to crisp it up to no avail. We ended up throwing it out. Disappointed as we have order that same pizza in the past with no issues.

We had a wedding catered and it was very disappointing. One whole tray of breadsticks was hard like they were stale. They didn’t send any utensils so I had to leave the wedding to get them. They did not set up any of the warming trays just dropped it all off and did not tell the person who they dropped them off to that water had to go in the chaffing trays, not everyone knows this. By the time I realized no water was in them 3 trays of food had burned. I called and asked to speak to the manager and was told we would get a call back and we have not. I expected better food and service for $1700

We were craving brownies and found this local place on Google. We were super excited that it was so close, we jumped in the car. I’m so sorry to have to report that the brownies are terrible! They are more like fudge cake with frosting and some white stuff marbled in. A brownie should be thick, chewy, and with a cracked top. We also grabbed some choc chip cookies to try; worst cookies I have ever put in my mouth.
Sadly, they do not offer a vegan pizza option, so I cannot comment on that.

Every time I come in here the portions get smaller and smaller. A half bag of bread sticks used to have at least twice this amount. Think I’m gonna stop coming here which is sad been coming here for years for good pizza.

This review is based solely on salads, as I order them frequently. Gregg's is my go to when I need a last minute dish to bring somewhere to pass. I am a big fan and everyone else seems to be as well! Sometimes I will also order breadsticks, too, but there's another place in town that has much better bread! The one thing that could use an immediate improvement is the customer service. The staff here seems so unhappy to be here. Today, in fact, I ordered and picked up my salad without ever even hearing a reply from the person working. As in not a word was spoken to me at all.

Yeah I'm done with this place. And I feel terrible because I was on their first tee ball team decades ago, and I knew the previous owners well when I was younger (based on the other reviews it appears management has changed).
The pizza and breadsticks are different now. The pizza is not great AT ALL, and the breadsticks are so inconsistent.

Update 6.4.21 - decided to give this place another try because everywhere else was too busy. Went in and asked for a slice special, at 5:30, they no longer sell them after 5. Since when I ask? "I don't know she says, my boss just made up that

The pizza is decent, but whenever I get slice specials, the pizza is old!! It's obvious that it's been sitting for hours. Not worth the price for that. I never have anything bad to say about the breadsticks and dip though. Service is decently quick but could be better at answering their phone for call-ahead orders!

This place has great breadsticks and the slices of pizza are really good too. It's a little small so it can get pretty crowded. The salads are good too. People here were polite and nice as well.

I was on assignment for Doordash to photograph some of this cafe's dishes. I met with co-owner Alicia (a lovely woman) and all the food was well prepared.
I purchased the maurice salad and the meatball bolognese and I must say...Delish!!
If you like The Highland House (in Highland and Whitlake) as much as I do, then you will love the amazing dishes here.
Ted and Alicia are a stand up couple and CARE about their business. They care about the customers and the passion they have for preparing these dishes, shows. Ted is a nephew of the owner from The Highland House and brought the recipe to Clarkston

Gregg's Cafe
Clarkston, MI

LeRoy: we had a family get together Saturday evening at my daughter, Sue's house. The food came from Gregg's cafe. I was really please with so that is why we chose Gregg's cafe today for our Tasty Trio. With that said, I had a luncheon special with 4 bbq ribs, a large Greek salad with ample condiments and six breadsticks to die for. Needless to say, I'm stuffed. I didn't eat it all but I did save enough for my dog. I give them 5stars for quality of food and deliciousness.

Katie: I got the pizza special and it did not disappoint. The breadsticks

Been going since I was born. But post fire next door it has been terrible! Not sure what happened to this place but we have been numerous times since it reopened and every time we are disappointed. We ordered subs once and we had to go back up numerous times and ask for literally over half of the rest of the ingredients it was suppose to come with. Their famous breadsticks are hit or miss and their pizza is on the edge of inedible. Will never be back...crispellis FTW!

So sad...after decades of being our familys go to for to go ribs and pizza...the last 2 visits have been depressing at best.
1st..they took our order for pizza and chicken wings...but when we went to pick up, they had no wings for our order that we had already paid for
Tag line on site shoud read pizza and chicken wings...sometimes
Tonight we ordered simply ribs and ceasar salad. Upon arrival the confusion of not knowing the order by a name nor could it be found in the system was shocking. Finally when the food ordered was mentioned, they not only remembered but the food sat bagged on the counter

I'm so sad to be done with Greggs This was the absolute best pizza and we kept trying after they finally reopened but it's just gotten worse and worse. Last night our pizza was so ridiculously dry and tasted stale- I don't know if it had been frozen and reheated or what but frozen Kroger pizza would have been 100x better than that.

The new management is exceptional, and very focused on customer satisfaction. The food is fantastic, and made with care and attention to detail. The breadsticks, and the garlic dip are second to none. I would suggest giving this place a chance if you have not been, it might just become your new favorite place to eat.

Will never go there again. We used them for our daughters graduation party and went before to taste the food they would be serving. Everything was great. On the day of the party the chicken kabobs were half of what we sampled. It was embarrassing. AND they completely forgot the Caesar salad?!? Which when they did bring it two hours later everyone had eaten so I ended up throwing it away. Then as if that wasn't enough, they charged us for the full price even though we put down a $270 deposit. I have called three times and each time they tell me, 'the owner just stepped out, I will have

In the past Gregg's was the best place to grab a slice and some bread sticks. Moist soft salty bread and fresh pizza... Not the same place it was.

New owners, all new employee's. Old hard pizza, dry hard breadsticks. Could pound nails with the food last few visits.

Gregg's was always our go-to for damm near 20 years and we have given them several chances to redeem themselves ... but I am done. The place has just gone downhill and not sure why. They should have taken the insurance money and ran when the place burned next door. The service and attention to details is gone and the food quality went with it. The Pizza and Salad's that were always delicious and top quality are Little Ceasers ish ... and I dont want to insult little ceaers in that comment.

The breadsticks with garlic dip are outright addictive and I find myself craving them, so it's a good thing they always have some ready to drop by and pick up. First tried the pizza, salad and breadsticks when lunch was catered at our office recently. I didn't know this place was nearby, but I've stopped in several times since and have never been disappointed.

So glad Gregg's is back after their renovation!!!
Great pizza! Best breadsticks around! $5 all day everyday slice special is an on the run go to... a large slice, 6 breadsticks, their homemade garlic cream cheese dip and a drink for $5! Their salads, subs, chicken, ribs and pasta dishes never disappoint. Don't forget to try what has been voted the "Best Brownie in Clarkston" for the last 14 years... you won't regret it!

It's ok for a sit down pizza joint. The bread stix everyone raves about are just average pizza place stix. Garlic dip is good. If you've ever had Anthony's bread and dip in Waterford, same exact thing.
The gourmet pizzas are good, and decent prices - 12.99 for ten slice large. Salads are large and good.
Best bread sticks around are still found at the Lions Den.
