A hidden gem! Very good Chinese food, probably the best in SE Michigan if I'm being honest. Staff is very friendly and take out is easy. All around great spot, but naturally a little pricey.

Love the food both take out and dine in. The staff and especially Zen are attentive and the food is the B.O.M.B here. They also make my favorite cocktail and it is perfection - the Cocotini is a must to try! Try the Imperial Fried Rice and the Grand Mariner Beef soooo good! I highly recommend China Cafe!

Beautiful decor and a fusion moniker do not make up for terrible service, high prices, mediocre food, and extortionist policies.
We were told to wait 40 minutes in the freezing cold or in their lounge, where drinks were mandatory or wait outside and freeze. 10 dollars for a small glass of moscato.
Our waiter had to be reminded at least twice to bring anything ordered.
No fried noodles ever for the soup and out of crackers.
35 dollars for 3 tough short ribs in a sizzling plate.
13 dollars for 4 wings in a take out box with no sauces. Tough to chew.
The Hunan eggplant was barely spicy even

Excellent Chinese food, very fresh and light. My very picky daughter loved the shrimp fried rice. Sweet and sour chicken lightly breaded and delicious. Restaurant and the bathrooms are very clean. Wait staff very attentive.

China Cafe is a beautiful restaurant. Which is reflected in the slightly higher prices of their dishes. Customer service is excellent. I ordered Shrimp Pad Thai which had some tofu in it as well, to my delight! Yes, the menu was extensive and had some Thai dishes on it. All in all the formal setting was nice and the dishes were good. My dish wasn't the best Pad Thai I've ever had but it sufficed. Not sure how often I would return.

By far, the best "Asian Fusion" restaurant around! Great food, good service, excellent cocktails. What more could you want?

Tried this place for the first time today it was very nice and clean with great employees.. the food on the other hand was not so great..ordered the Hawaiian sweet and sour chicken and the firecracker shrimp. Both were very bland sauces were watery and the pineapples and fruit in the dish tasted as it came from a can ( iron after taste ) food portions were nice just couldn't get past the taste from what it was talked up to be ... thank you for the great service though.

Clean, friendly atmosphere.
Professional staff including the busboys that keep your table clean and your water glass full. Then the food...So fresh and flavorful!! The cocktail and wine menu are also incredible!

Ordered crab Rangoon, two Maui salads, since they are single serving, a lobster pad Thai, medium spicy and the five pepper chicken.

The Maui said looks okay, although the fruit looks like it's out of a can. The salad wasn't bad, the fruit wasn't so good though.

The crab Rangoon is not special. Odd with the honey mustard, the sweet chili or duck sauce was okay. The cream cheese blend was a bit odd to me.

The 5 spice chicken is okay, a bit strange with the corn and peas to me. Added some sambal sauce or chili sauce, it helps some. The chicken

Service is exceptional, food was wow... gigantic portions, seasoned well, drinks are flavorful and bring smiles. I had such a wonderful experience I didn't even get a before picture!!

So good! Never had anything here I didn't like and have had tooooo many carryout's during the pandemic. Our go tos are usually the Mama Chang's Dumplings, Pad Thai, Chow Fun, and Mongolian Beef. Portions are big too!

Always delicious, great service, and portions large enough to share or take home for lunch the next day.

Great Chinese restaurant! Everything from the wine selection to the service was great. The menu is full of perfect choices for any taste.

We have used China Cafe for carry out a few times over the last six months. Their food really is very high quality and absolute delicious. Portions are large which helps explain their premium price. And frankly it doesn't seem to matter what you order, the dishes are very well prepared and worth it. It is now our go to Chinese restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

This restaurant wowed us. We had two excellent drinks, the Lychee cooler and the white flower martini. Both were excellent to our fussy palates. Next we truly enjoyed the walnut shrimp appetizer. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the candied walnuts with the sauce were amazing. Finally, the sole with the red thai curry was nothing less than amazing. My wife who hates fish couldn't get enough of it. We can't wait to return and try more items from this great restaurant.

I liked this place, I really did... not your normal dingy place to eat Chinese, a very nice looking restaurant in an unassuming strip mall... our server was awesome, knowledgeable of items and gave recommendations, service was quick, food came quickly....

This place gotten worse. Why all my fried rice and noddles are so soggy . Panada express make better fried rice than this place and I am paying a premium here

Service was excellent! Waiters were so attentive and the restaurant was spotless. Nice quiet atmosphere. Great for families or date nights.
The Walnut Shrimp were fabulous. I recommend starting with those!
Chicken Lo Mein was GREAT and the sweet and sour chicken was also very good.

Yelps rating and reviews led me to China Cafe. The food and atmosphere will keep me coming back. The decor is very elegant, romantic (wish I was on a date), and very clean!

We only had two dishes and one app because that's what happens when you only have two people dining. The dumplings, that broth was so good, I will definitely get these again. I had a shrimp dish with a lot of veg - it was delicious and the other meal was the Thai Basil chicken. Our waiter was thoughtful and attentive, as well as other staff. Felt welcomed from the minute I walked in to when we left. Yeah I have a new place to favor.

I like trying new restaurants and only return to a few treasured places when I'm craving something specific. During stay-at-home orders, China Café sounded good, especially since I had not been there since they had eliminated their lunch service. I checked their menu online and goodness - there was such a large selection available. I've had their Walnut Shrimp, crunchy shrimp in a honey mayo sauce with candied walnuts; their crispy wok-fried Brussels sprouts with thinly-sliced pork belly; their tender short ribs, and my favorite, their Grand Marnier beef. Standard, solid Chinese fare at reasonable prices. I guess for being located in Novi this is quite a draw (not many options around this town). Ambience inside is a touch formal with white table cloths and dark lighting. They have lots of Buddha statues in the restaurant, which is random but kind of fun. I don't live in Novi but if I did I'd go back.

This was our first time here. When we walked in, it was pretty busy, and we were told that the wait would be 25 minutes. It didn't take that long to get seated.

This place didn't excite me at all. The decor and atmosphere were nice but otherwise it was very ordinary. In fact, it was less than ordinary for the price.

After searching their small lunch menu for something that actually sounded good, I decided on the Hawaiian sweet and sour chicken with egg drop soup. The egg drop soup was not my favorite. It was too chicken broth based rather than egg based. It tasted like chicken soup with some veggies and a little egg mixed in. Very disappointing.

Very clean restaurant. Food was served hot and full of flavor. Service was wonderful. This is a tad more expensive then anticipated. But I will come again. The quality is great so the price matches up.

I don't usually rate based on experience but here I go.
