After reconstructive knee surgery in 2014, I began taking yoga classes to aid in my recovery. I quickly found yoga as a way to not only rebuild my strength, but also alleviate stress and anxiety. Shortly after, I became a certified yoga teacher and personal trainer, and have spent the last 5 years taking trainings & courses from amazing teachers around the world to understand the body even more.

I have found that yoga & fitness can be very meditative when combined with awareness & understanding of the body. Combining my training in transcendental meditation, anatomy, and fitness, my teaching style is. In this blog post, I am going to go over a handful of yoga poses that you can safely do (or do with modifications) post-knee surgery.

I have over 20 years of experience in yoga & fitness, specializing in body awareness, anatomy, and inversions. Growing up, I did gymnastics & played several sports, which taught me how to connect with my body on a deeper level. After reconstructive knee surgery in 2014, I began taking yoga classes to aid in my recovery.
Whether you are new to exercising, yoga, want to strengthen your practice, or learn how to stand on your hands, I offer private lessons tailored specifically to each individual's needs & interests. Working one-on-one with allows you to feel more comfortable learning and practicing yoga, working out, going at your own pace, and working on improving your own individual goals.
Below are a list of past & current workshops offered - if interested in booking for a studio, please send an email to info@ninaeliseyoga.com. Learn how to combine the ancient art of cupping with yin yoga & create a brand new way to release fascia tissue, promote blood flow, and stimulate/create/reinforce neurological pathways.
Luckily, Groupon was offering a special at a nearby hot yoga studio, and I decided to give it another chance. It was challenging, I wasn't good at it, but it kept me coming back. Fast forward a few years after exploring several yoga styles, and I eventually became a certified teacher. Its been 7+ years after my first yoga class, and I love the practice more every time I step on my mat.

Nina is an amazing yoga teacher and personal trainer!! She worked with me one-on-one to show me exercises that help strengthen my core, which has always been my weakest area -especially after having a baby. Within weeks, I noticed my core getting stronger! She is very easy going which makes excercising with her very enjoyable and fun. You can tell that she genuinely wants to help her clients be the best version of themselves!

Her classes are zen and rejuvenating. It was nicely paced, not too slow or too fast and I really liked how at ease everyone was especially the instructor. It wasn't too descriptive or elaborate so I could feel centered during the session. I'd like all yoga instructors to be like her!
