Services
The Koch Center is an out-of-network outpatient provider and does not contract directly with insurance companies. We have instead chosen to direct our efforts toward excellence in clinical treatment. We are able to help assist you in dealing with your insurance company. Therefore, we have put together this help-sheet in hopes that it will make the navigation process easier.
While eating disorders are one of our areas of specialty, we do not only treat people with eating disorders. We work with men and women with a wide range of diagnoses. Our DBT groups are tailored to people with emotion regulation difficulty. One does not need to have an eating disorder to be in our DBT groups.
The Trauma Program at The Koch Center is an innovative program that was developed based on the most current brain-based research being conducted by pioneers in the trauma field, including most notably Bessel van der Kolk, MD. Dr. van der Kolk's research cites that the most effective trauma treatment integrates neuroscience and body-based therapies.
One definition of "School Refusal" is "child motivated refusal to attend school due to an emotional or psychological difficulty." Avoidance of situations, people, or places that induce a sense of negative emotion (i.e. when a child is being bullied, fear of the classroom or bus, etc.);. If not identified and treated, school refusal behavior has severe short- and long-term consequences.
An eating disorder is no simple matter. It is a complex combination of psychological, cultural and physiological forces. In most cases, an eating disorder is a valiant attempt to cope with underlying stresses, which may or may not be recognized by the person struggling with the disorder.

At The Koch Center, it is our goal to help the individual regain control of his or her life and to learn ways to feel comfortable and happy while uncovering and managing those things which may have contributed to the development of the disorder. We teach the skills necessary for people to deal with and regulate feelings in a healthy way, as opposed to using food as a means to cope.

I can't say enough about my experience at the Koch Center. From the minute I stepped in the door I felt comfortable - I knew that was were I should be. My anxiety and depression - well let's just say I can live and enjoy my life now. The staff ( therapists) were with me every step of the way. Each person I dealt with was professional, respectful and kind. I can not recommend the Koch Center enough!

I have had such a positive experience over the last year at the Koch Center. Entering therapy is not easy but I was made to feel comfortable and supported from the start. I can only say positive things about Dr. Jenna Zucchi who was my individual therapist. Very quickly we built a therapeutic relationship built on trust and mutual respect. The work is not always easy but Dr. Zucchi helped guide me through difficult sessions.

Based upon my own experience with the Koch Center I would NOT recommend their services to anyone. My child was seen by Dr. Jenna Zucchi a psychologist at the Koch Center. After a school situation that required clearance by a psychologist occurred, Dr. Jenna Zucchi and the Koch team abandoned my child, refusing to provide clearance regarding the situation that they were fully aware of was a misunderstanding and instead still told us to go to a local hospital emergency room and see a psychologist there for clearance which created an even more stressful situation for my child. Never did they contact
