Kendall & Potter was established as a real estate company in 1969. The brokers Skipper Kendall and William Potter moved to Aptos to fulfill their dream of working in a small town in Santa Cruz County. In 1972, they expanded their services to include property management and relocation from Santa Cruz to Monterey Coast.
When we moved back to the Santa Cruz area in 2003 we initially rented a home which K&P managed. As renters we found them to be very responsive, thorough and fair. Subsequently we purchased a home and a decade later we were in need of a property management company. K&P was the first business we called.

We’ve previously stayed at a property in La Selva Beach through Kendall & Potter and had an amazing experience. However, we just recently stayed at a property in Aptos 779 The Waves and it was a disappointing, horrible experience. The house was just disgusting. The bathrooms smelt like urine and were not clean when we arrived. We had ants attack all of our food in the kitchen and even my children’s toys in the living room. Ants are all on the back deck, so your shoes get covered too. Ants were all over front patio as well. My kids couldn’t play anywhere without getting ants crawling all over

Honestly we were not looking for a house to rent, as it may have been cheaper to get a hotel that may have had a pool, but with coronavirus I didn't feel comfortable around random people that may be sick (I know, that is probably paranoid, but I have a small child). So a private house seemed like a good option, and we are very happy with the decision. Still would have liked to have a pool, but didn't see one when I was browsing. Next time maybe I will call and see if there are some other options.

The place was nice, but beware of added charges and miscommunications.
We ended up paying almost twice the price for cleaning than the price we agreed upon by email BEFORE renting the place, and which was decisive in our decision to rent the place in the first place.
Then the deposit refund check was sent to an obsolete address without any form of warning/confirmation, and they are now asking for ME to pay for the charge of voiding the check.
Sandra was also very unprofessional and rude in her communication with me.

Cindy was outstanding in her knowledge of the property. She kept me up to date regarding the progress of the renovations and was very forthcoming. She is professional, articulate, and kind. Taylor is also very well versed in rental properties. She was very sweet when showing the property. This has been an excellent experience in engaging with Kendall and Potter.

Stay away from renting any property from this management company. They took advantage of me after being displaced by a house fire in my own home. I was put up in one of their homes for 9 months. After moving out which I cleaned the home very well, I too am a landlord, they billed me and took out from my security deposit $680 for cleaning! Cleaning a home that already was clean, unfurnished, and had hardwood floors throughout. They also failed to return my security deposit within the 21 days as required by California Law. I am moving forward with a lawsuit and looking into possibly being awarded
