Zen Express

My boyfriend and I loved this place when we lived in Bloomington. We always got the sushi bowls and everything was so fresh. We recently moved back and have tried to order from here three days in a row during the hours posted and they’ve been closed EVERY time. We’ve looked and haven’t seen anything about them closing so it’s getting pretty frustrating.

I decided to stop by for lunch since it’s near my place of work and wow. I’m pretty basic so I called ahead and ordered a General Tso’s Chicken with white rice. A arrive and I was promptly greeted, let them know I called ahead of time and placed an order to go but asked if I could just dine in and they said that’s fine. After getting my food I picked one of the many tables in the dining area which I must say was really nice! Their interior and lighting was just perfect. Now for the food! Zen Express always makes me happy! Tonight marks 30 orders over the last 2 years and I have NEVER been disappointed...not once. I’m actually only upset with myself for not reviewing earlier. I almost always get a version of a loaded up 3 protein bowl when I go and it’s always so fresh and amazing. I highly recommend ordering through their website if you’re carrying out as to take in all the topping items and research the ones with odd names so you know exactly what you’re getting. We love getting food from Zen Express. We are not local but every time we visit family we make a point to get Zen Express. The food is always fresh and delicious and the servings are very generous. The owner and employees are so pleasant and patient and we love supporting this business.

Very good first experience here! Steak and shrimp was delicious and very reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and even brought my order out to my car. They are fast too! On the other side of town for me but worth the drive.

I just tried Zen Express for the first time and for one the staff was so kind! I think I was talking with the owner and he was a pleasure to meet. I definitely recommend this place if you love sushi and a… friendly environment! I got a zucchini noddle bowl with salmon and a bunch of awesome and fresh toppings. I love Zen Express! I eat here probably once a week and love their salmon and tuna sushi bowls with spicy mayo! The food is a fair price for the quality, and the workers are very nice as well.😊

Visited for the first time this week for lunch with friends. Delicious steak bowl came with fried rice and a tasty sauce. I’ve already recommended Zen Express to friends and I will definitely visit again. Can’t wait to introduce my family to their wonderful menu!

The food was hot and fresh. was not greasy and the kids loved it all. we got the gyoza too and it was just as good as the rest. we used grub hub for delivery and had a great experience!

If you were looking for a chipotle style sushi place this is where you want to go. Even if you hate sushi, they have quick hibachi meals and yaki soba noodles that are sublime. Everything on their menu is delicious. They use fresh ingredients and their owner is the sweetest man you meet.

I gave this place a three stars because that's what it deserved, but I believe it has room to grow. I had there things on my visit: a shrimp sushi bowl with white rice, cucumber, green onion, avocado and two types of sauce. My partner got the sesame chicken player with fried rice. And we also got Japanese egg rolls which were awesome. The bowl was delicious in every way. My only complaint was the price for the size but I would definitely try it again especially if I wasn't paying 😋. I was excited about the idea of a sushi bowl because I have never heard of anything like that before, and being a sushi enthusiast, I felt that I had to try it out! It was absolutely delicious. I got a sushi bowl with tuna and salmon. The meat was fresh and there were MANY toppings that you could add for free. I went back the next day for dinner! I couldn't resist myself. The staff is also very friendly and fun! The restaurant is very clean and modern. The pricing is actually very reasonable for what they offer. Overall, this place is five stars for me!
