Services
W. Michael Tuman DMD offers a full array of dental services to help you maintain healthy teeth. Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.Implants are synthetic structures that are placed in the area of the tooth normally occupied by the root.

We are passionate about providing the highest quality of dental care to all of our patients, in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. We are most proud of our staff. Our team of dental assistants are all board certified in Expanded Function Dental Assisting (EFDA). Most of our EFDAs have been with our team for over ten years.
With the acquisition of the adjacent building, an additional dentist, and two hygienists, our practice facility literally doubled in size and is now accessible with the addition of the elevated lift. The facility is state of the art and every department keeps current with continuing education. We understand, that for some, the thought of visiting the dentist or hygienist stirs emotions of anxiety and even claustrophobia.
Our practice accepts most PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) insurance plans and will gladly process your claim. We do not participate with HMO or DMO dental plans. Please bring the necessary insurance information with you to your first visit. You can also email, fax or provide it in our Patient Intake Form now available online.
As a new patient, your first visit typically consists of a thorough health history evaluation, head and neck exam, comprehensive intraoral evaluation, intraoral digital radiographs, intraoral photographs (when needed or required) and prophylaxis (cleaning). This appointment usually takes one hour to complete.

Excellent appointment with Marym for teeth cleaning. She is incredibly skilled and extremely helpful in making specific suggestions for me to improve my own dental health. I actually look forward to seeing her! Dr Tuman is also a highly skilled and responsive dentist. The practice is superbly organized and always open to feedback and questions.

Going to Dr. Tuman's office is like a chance to visit with old friends. Dr. Tuman and Lori (the fabulous hygienist my family usually sees) always remember our family details, and the chance to chat with them (in-between dental procedures!) makes the time go by easily and quickly. Dr. Tuman has always been available in an emergency, and we have had many years of positive dental visits!

I have been going to this practice for over 10 years. The staff is outstanding and Dr. Tuman is the consummate professional.
When I first went to the practice I needed a tremendous amount of dental work. The practice came up with a great game plan to maximize my insurance and gave me a great smile at the end of the process.

A crown on one of my molars had fallen off and I needed it fixed. I was able to get an appointment promptly and it was repaired. What I appreciate about Dr. Tuman is that he does what it needed and explains it clearly. He does NOT promote work that doesn't need to be done. It is amazing to have a dentist I can trust and does excellent work.

I got connected into this office via Yelp, and it has been a great fit! It's a local dentist, but not small or scrappy -- they're super well-organized and streamlined. I feel that I've gotten great service there. At one point, they referred me downtown to an endodontist "just in case" and it turned out I needed a bunch of root canals. (I have horrible teeth, no surprise there!) I've been very pleased with their safety protocols via COVID, as well.

This dentist is the used car salesmen of dentist. He tried to tell me that I needed extra cosmetic work and that it was necessary. I went to a different dentist.He didn't force or try to make me believe that I needed all these extra things to get money out of me. After I brought this too the attention of Micheal he staff contacted me and were very defensive and outright rude. This man does not care about his patients or ethical dentistry. Freaking amazing!!!
Called for pain I was feeling and how about it was just a loose crown... They got me in on a Saturday morning and took care of it mad quick!!!

While being seen in Dr. Tuman's office both he and his son were trying to convince me that I needed a roof canal, which according to 2 other dentist office opinions I did not. Also the filling job they did to one of my teeth, the filling actually fell out within a month after getting it in place, another dentist office had to fix it, fortunately my brother was friends with that office so they give me discounted rates - the down side is that my brother's friend (the dentist) office is about 80 miles away. When refusing to pay for such shoddy workmanship they sent out letters threatening

When I was a kid/teen I did not take good care of my teeth (brush up young readers!). Hence, I am both terrified of the dentist and of the damage I have done to my teeth. I have been going to Dr. Tuman's office for two years now and have always received quality service. I recently had a filling completed and was very anxious. They did everything they could to see my anxiety was reduced. Also the hygienists always are accommodating to my horrible gag reflex and incredibly small mouth.

Dr. Tuman's office was clean and worked fine for my annual check in. The hygenist that cleaned my teeth and gentle and careful at her job. Though I did wait for a while to be seen, another patient was having a hard time next door, the entire staff was very apologetic and accommodating during my wait.

I found Dr. Tuman after much research and following the positive reviews seen on Yelp. I'm the kind of person who requires a lot of dental work so I was relieved when I visited Tuman's office for the first time. The staff and hygienists are so friendly, and the office is clean with modern technology. I thought it was so cool to be able to see my x-rays immediately on the flat screen in front of my dental chair! The service I've received is excellent and I am very pleased overall.

I debated greatly whether to reroute as a 3-star or 4-star. I chose the latter because I believe everyone makes mistakes now and then and it's how you remediate the situation that shows true character and humility, or lack there of.
I'll keep this brief as this is my second update. Sunday evening I sent Dr Tuman's office an email expressing my great dissatisfaction and pain caused by the exposure of dentin from shaving a cusp adjacent to a tooth in which I had a cavity filled. 10am Tuesday I called the office as I had not received a phone call. I promptly chose a Wednesday afternoon

Best dentist I've ever seen. They made room for me as a new patient in need of emergency treatment. I don't have dental insurance and so I was shocked to see how affordable the whole appointment was...I'm positive they could have thrown in all kinds of charges if they'd wanted to take advantage of my vulnerability (I was in so much pain!)
